What is your favorite thing about October?

  • Halloween Shows
  • Halloween Candy
  • Halloween Activities
  • Halloween (October 31st)
  • I love all 4. You know me but I’m going to say C because those Haunted Trails, Hayrides, Apple Picking etc. are some of my favorite things of the year. What about you? Turkey friends enjoy your day. Have a great October Arrives!

A for me. I have a whole host of movies to watch.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 56
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 30

Happy Early October! Today folks we move along and see that we have 56 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 30 days to go until November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our next milestone arriving on Wednesday. It will be the Final Fifty till Thanksgiving. That will be a big one, for sure my friends. It’s Thursday folks so time for our Thanksgiving Thought Thursday below!

As October arrived yesterday, I felt it in the air. It was a cool crisp feeling. It felt like Autumn. Sometimes summer hangs around and it looks to do so this year as well. We have high temperatures well into the 70s through the weekend and possibly hit 80 or higher the first half of next week. Such are the swings of changes between seasons. But I have to say the Autumn crispness that is out there this morning (as it was yesterday) is a sign of things to come. Turkey Time!

We are in a great time of year. I love this first part of autumn when things are changing but there’s enough warm days still to enjoy if you like warmer weather like I do. And you’re not sweating like in a Summer Sweatfest in the middle of July. Those are the days you really feel the sweat. Keep cool turkey friends. Have a great Early October!

I felt it too! Woke up yesterday morning and it just felt "cold" outside! Right on cue. Standing outside on the porch last night I could see my breath, which was a huge dose of "feels", and I think it was the first time I could do that since those few very cold days in May when I was at the hospital with Holly and Jason.

I mowed grass yesterday evening too and felt the distinct feel that truly cold weather was not far behind. I think we have a couple more mows here before we turn over to nothing but leaf mulching. Again, we're right on schedule!

Have a great day!

I wasn't here for the poll yesterday, so allow me to give my belated answer: A. It probably would be C if we had any sort of Halloween activities around nearby. As such, I don't have to drive anywhere to watch Halloween shows.

I got a call from my niece today and she and her husband will be back this year to celebrate Thanksgiving with me. Their place in Madeira Beach is still not ready, so they will spend November, or at least part of it, in their Daytona condo.

I'm very excited and happy to hear this. I hope and pray my health holds out. I have one more appointment at Mayo next month and, hopefully, I won't return until next year.

The requests have already come in. Another turducken will definitely be on the table. Patrick also requested a cherry pie and I've had a request for my chocolate raspberry cheesecake. Fortunately the pie is easy and the cheesecake can be made ahead.

This news has me re-thinking the menu.
So glad they are coming. Hope the Mayo Clinic appointment goes well.
