Happy Saturday and welcome to the new start. So we have 2 huge pots of turkey stock going today..those old style black or blue pots that are speckled. Now if I can just save enough for the summer Thanksgiving/Christmas party.
Those speckled pots and pans are the best! My mom used a big speckled roaster to dry out the bread to make dressing for days in advance and then used it to cook the turkey and the stuffing went into a different pan. I also remember my dad soaking Navy Beans in one overnight and then adding ham bones/ham hocks the next day, it was his favorite.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 361
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 335
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 274

Happy December Arrives! Today folks we move along and see that we have 361 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 335 days to go until November, and 274 days left until The Bers. We move along in our Happy Holidays portion of our thread with our first milestone arriving today. December has arrived and we begin our 11-month journey back to November. Unbelievable as we begin all over again. Our next milestone will be in 11 days when we reach the 350-Day Marker till Thanksgiving. I always say it feels like a full year up until the 350-Day window and that’s 50 weeks which still sounds like a whole year basically. We move along in our Quiet Weekend Period Part 2 and are happy to be where we are. I know all of you had a great Thanksgiving Week and made the most of it that you can. Well I hope you finish it up strong today my friends. Turkey friends I hope you are all doing well here on this Sunday and enjoying your time. It’s been such a tremendous week friends and in the Hang Out I dedicated today’s post to this week, however, I will try to post some final thoughts in this thread this evening. I need to before we can leave this week. So many amazing moments this week. Such a special feeling. Each day unique. Turkey friends gobble gobble if you have any leftovers. Have a great December Arrives!

I'm glad to be back on the journey again towards Thanksgiving 2025. And the 350 day milestone to any of the "Big 3" always feels like such a special day. It's like you know you have a whole year to go again, but it doesn't feel like it. And I always think everything sort of picks up once the New Year starts, and that's the real magic of these "bonus months" that we are in right now.

I hope everyone here has a great Sunday!

The only leftovers remaining is the blackberry pie and I don't think I have it in me to have another piece. There are a few more tupperware containers that need to be emptied out and then the fridge should almost be back to normal. I guess that means it is time to get ready to go back to work.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 360
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 334
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 273

Happy Cyber Monday! Today folks we move along and see that we have 360 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 334 days to go until November and 273 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestone will be in 10 days when we reach the 350-Day Marker till Thanksgiving. It’s going to be such a big one my friends. Because then you realize that you’re really starting to break through these almost “extra” days over 50 weeks. We move along in our Happy Holidays portion of this thread on this Monday with our Weekly Countdown till Thanksgiving Week and we stand at 51 weeks. This is what I kind of refer to as the bonus week of the count as we are above 50 weeks. It’s the only time we can say that so I hope you enjoy the freshness of the countdown. Was it just me or did Thanksgiving Week seriously prove how it really is the best week overall of the year? That’s why we countdown to it on Mondays here. Turkey friends the best to you on this Monday as we begin a new journey here in this thread. The free week or extra week this week gives you a chance to think about the journey and where we just came from last week. Turkey friends the best to you to start this week and I hope everyone is doing well. Have a great Cyber Monday!

Good morning turkey friends!

Good Morning Monday! It's back to the grind now. I work the next 9 work days before being off for a week to go to Alabama (hopefully), then I return and work on December 21st, and December 23rd before being off the rest of Christmas week.

I hope everyone has a great day!

I needed the reframing of this being an extra week and something special in our weekly countdown to Thanksgiving! I had a hard time with the quick switch to December and was feeling like I had lost a week, but I can take this time to think about where we have been!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 359
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 333
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 272

Happy Early December! Today folks we move along and see that we have 359 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 333 days to go until November and 272 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be in 9 days when we reach the 350-Day Marker till Thanksgiving. That’s going to be major my friends to break that 350+ seal. But for now, we stay comfortably in that 350+ area of our countdown here in the early days of our Happy Holidays Portion of this thread. And we move along into this Tuesday here on Picture Day, my friends. This is our first Picture Day of this thread! The first of over 50. That’s big. So, share all your memories of the past and dreams of the future with pictures of anything Autumn and/or Thanksgiving related. Maybe some leftover turkey pictures might do the trick this week if you still have some. Leftovers last for days and days. And boy are they delicious. Turkey friends I know you miss last week but you also probably realize how special it was and realize that it brought us fully into this wonderful time of year known as the Holiday Season. A co-worker told me in the kitchen on Monday he thinks Thanksgiving is the best because it’s underrated since everyone talks about Christmas and skips over it. Well, he might be right. Thanksgiving, as a day, might be the best. Have a great Early December!
