I don’t know what’s up with me this year, but I’m just not feeling it yet. I think it’s coming too fast. I’m liking the Fall vibe. The sunny days and the leaves turning. But I feel like we are still in September. Can’t believe Halloween is in 2 weeks and we are almost to a month before Thanksgiving.

I think I’m actually too busy. No time to sit still and just enjoy what’s going on around me.

I'm a little off too with my injuries I've been dealing with but I'm not letting anything stop me from enjoying this time of year!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 41
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 15

Happy 2nd Half Of October! Today folks we move along and see that we have 41 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 15 days to go until November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our next milestone arriving in 5 days. It will be the Home Stretch till November. It’s Friday folks so time for our Fun Fact Friday below!

Not everyone believes the first Thanksgiving took place in Plymouth. On December 4, 1619, a ship called the Margaret landed in what is now Virginia. Captain John Woodlief documented the day as one that must be celebrated “yearly and perpetually kept holy as a day of Thanksgiving to Almighty God”—and the settlers did, until many of them were slaughtered by the Powhatan in 1622. More than 300 years later, Virginia Senator John J. Wicker, Jr., spent much of the 1960s pushing his state as the birthplace of the first Thanksgiving, even appearing on The Tonight Show dressed as a pilgrim.

Rich and I dress up as pilgrims just for fun without trying to make a point. But interestingly this person wanted to say Thanksgiving started at their home. I guess that would be a cool thing if you could say that about your town. Have a great 2nd Half Of October!

I saw this mentioned in a news feed. Has anyone ever tried one of these?

That's intriguing to me. I love stuff like that. I have never tried it, or saw it in the store anywhere. I think it would either end up being delicious, or being awful. But I'm optimistic though. I'm not sure how it would all turn out. Sort of makes me think of "The Gobbler" that they offer at Wawa:

Available in a bowl or a sandwich, It has turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce all together. Again, this might be something that ends up being awesome, or it might end up being awful. I've never had this one before. Maybe this is the year to try it?

Happy Friday!

D'Angelo has essentially the same sub---they call it Thanksgiving Toasted. It's on a toasted sub roll and, like this one, has turkey, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce (but no mashed potatoes), with extra gravy on the side.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 40
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 14

Happy Fall Weekend! Today folks we move along and see that we have 40 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 14 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our next milestone set to arrive on Wednesday with the Home Stretch till November. It’s Saturday folks so time for our first half of our Quiet Weekend Period. I hope you all had a great week. This is not really a quiet weekend for me but segments of it will be (this evening and tomorrow morning). You can read about my weekend plans in the Saturday AM thread or the Holiday Hang Out (and contribute yours as well if you wish to). Anyway, I love this time of year, and I hope you are all enjoying our autumn so far. It’s a great season and a great time of year. The best to you my turkey friends as we move along into a new day here on this Saturday. I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. This is a great time of year and one to treasure. It’s one of the most fun times of year without the stress of the holiday season. Quietness is something I really enjoy, and I hope you all have a great weekend this weekend no matter what your plans are. Just do it the best you can and enjoy all the stuff that you have planned this weekend. Have a great Fall Weekend!
