DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 29
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 4

Happy Halloween Mid-Week! Today folks we move along and see that we have 29 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 4 days left until November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our next milestone set to arrive with our 2nd destination on Sunday. It will be when November Arrives. It’s Wednesday folks so time for our Weekly Wednesday Poll below!

Which is the biggest connection between the Big 3 Holidays?

A.) Halloween and Thanksgiving link the most.
B.) Thanksgiving and Christmas link the most.
C.) None of the 3 link the most.
D.) All 3 link together.

I get it if you answer D but I’m going to go against the grain here and say A. I would never have really said that in the past. I might have chosen B or D. But this year I just am feeling how the heart of Autumn goes beyond Halloween and heads right to Thanksgiving. I think Autumn is my key here when thinking about this question. Have a great Halloween Mid-Week!

Now this is a tough question. But I see it Edge's way too. Halloween and Thanksgiving are really the heart of Autumn, while Christmas, as long as the weather cooperates, is basically in the prime of winter. I think the answer might be "A"!

Wow! This is a tough one. I’ve always thought of Halloween as its own holiday and Thanksgiving as the beginning of the second and final season of the year. But looking at it logically, autumn encompasses both Halloween and the harvest at the end of the growing season, culminating in the feast of Thanksgiving.

The same holds true with decorating. We start with pumpkins, autumn leaves, cornstalks and all the traditional signs of fall, then add the spooky touches for the Trick-or-Treaters. Once Halloween passes, we circle back to the pumpkins and autumn decor. Then, on Thanksgiving Eve, the Christmas lights come on, the tree goes up, and the white, gold, red and green take over.

The more I think about it, the more I’m leaning toward "A"

D ... Halloween and Thanksgiving share the same wonderful colors, fall feels and pumpkin everything, but Thanksgiving and Christmas Share the warm of the holidays, family and friends.

On Thanksgiving Day what kind of dressing do you like? Not salad dressing. I mean dressing made of cornbread, chicken broth etc. I like it homemade. But I have heard people adds pecan, cranberries and apple to theirs. I like mine with chicken. I had a aunt one time added oysters to her and I could not eat it. It had that fishy taste to it.
I make my mom's stuffing recipe ... its diced up white and rye bread left out over night to dry up. Sautee a bunch of diced onions, celery and celery leaves in butter and broth. add in Bell's seasoning, mix in the diced up bread.. Stuff the turkey LOL and the left-over stuffing goes into a casserole dish topped with more broth and baked.

Cornbread dressing with sausage in it with pecans. If its summer with do crawfish instead of sausage. My stuffing is a mix of traditional white and rye bread with 3 boxes of Turkey Stovetop. I add onions, carrots, diced potato, celery and diced apple. Extra Bells seasoning and Kerry Gold butter.

True traditional stuffing gives me incredible heartburn. I have switched to mixing 1/2 traditional and 1/2 turkey Stovetop.

My answer is B. If it weren't for Christmas, Thanksgiving would lose some of its luster. I think that makes for a tight link.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 28
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 3

Happy Late October! Today folks we move along and see that we have 28 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 3 days left until November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our next milestone (and destination) arriving on Sunday with the Arrival of November. We have reached our 2nd of 3 destinations. It’s Thursday folks so time for our Weekly Countdown till Thanksgiving Week. It now stands at 4 weeks my friends. Just unbelievable in the single digits and now using only a single hand. I hope you all are having a good week. And that your day is going well. The weather here the last 10 days has been insanely nice. Just perfect. And it looks like it will continue. Ironically, as we move into November soon, we expect to see temperatures warming up. I will take it while we can get it because I know it won’t last forever. We’re really going to be moving into the 2nd half of Autumn and that’s when the chill starts to normally settle in a little more regularly (and a little chillier). The best to you my turkey friends on this Thursday. I hope you enjoy your day my friends and make the most of it. You are all the best so thanks for stopping by and checking out the thread as many of you have done since November. Have a great Late October!
