WOW Rich awesome Halloween decs my friend...Soo jealous of you guys across the pond.
You can definitely count me in! This is so exciting!!! I love all things Bers also.Good Morning Halloween Fans!
Today i bring before you something that has been an addition to my life since March of this year, and it worked out well, so my hope is to share it with the masses here and see if it can catch on.
Background:
Many of us on here LOVE all things BERS(September, October, November December) and everything that goes along with those months. Once we arrive to THE BERs, a lot of my anxiousness disappears as find myself comfortably in my favorite 4 months of the year. Counting down to Christmas is one of my favorite things in the whole world! Rudolph Day (25th of each month) for years now has given me something small to look forward to each month, and also helps break up the long wait for my favorite season! I can enjoy a small sampling of sights and sounds of Christmas each month.
My Proposal:
As time went on, i realized that i was missing Fall & Halloween just as much as I missed Christmas every month. In March of this year, an idea dawned on me, spurned primarily from a "Friday the 13th" Marathon that was held on Syfy on March 13th, and amazingly and for seemingly no reason at all, a Michael Myers/Halloween Marathon on AMC that was around a week later. I thought to myself, why not do a small celebration to honor Halloween / Fall, like I do Rudolph Day? I decided then to try it out on the 31st that month. It was a great success for me personally, so i decided that on each month that had a 31st, i would celebrate Fall & Halloween. My wife thought it was really fun too!
So I ask you, MMC friends, would any of you be interested in making "Mini Halloween" an actual thing here at MMC? I am calling it Mini-Halloween for now, but @Rich also had a great suggestion of "Jack-O-Lantern Day". Working out the name is a small matter. My biggest concern is interest.
So again, would any of you like to celebrate it with me? We will do it each month on the 31st. I light up the electric jack-o-lantern, burn a fall-scented candle or wax warmer, and have my own little horror movie Marathon, just like they do on SyFY or AMC at Halloween season. And let me tell you, every one that I had this year, the weather cooperated, it was either cool or raining, and it absolutely felt like Fall / Halloween.
So let me know? If you guys like the idea, my plan is to create a seperate thread called "Mini Halloween" (Or Whatever we decide for the name), and we can post stories / pictures of our mini halloweens, just like we do with Rudolph Day, and soon, TOM TURKEY DAY!!! I don't want to junk up this thread, because i realize there is daily postings of pics & stuff as well as a general Halloween countdown. I have my FINAL Mini Halloween of 2020 coming up right around the corner on Monday, i would love for us all to celebrate it in unison! Let me know![]()
