Also, the temperatures aren't going to be as warm as they earlier predicted, thank goodness! I'd hate for summer to come too early.

I want the warm weather and green grass, but with the amount of snow that has accumulated since the end of December (with 16 snow days), I want the white stuff to be able to melt slowly. Plows were supposed to remove the over 6' snowbanks, but they only cut them down by half from what I can tell; they should have gotten into a car instead of judging the visible area from the height of their tall driver seats.

Rumour has it, we're in for a hot one this summer. I know I can only peel off so many clothing articles in the heat before someone reports me, but I look forward to slapping on sunscreen and heading out without having to put on multiple layers of clothing and cleaning off the car for 20 minutes.

My car is in bad need of a car wash, but I want to wait until the icy rain tonight and tomorrow before I go for the luxury wash to get my Mojo sparkling like new.

I'll have to take it into a shop nearby in April to clean the inside; noticed some salt stains on the seats and I don't want to do it myself in case I make it worse. I get a discount with my CAA card.

Happy Friday Eve All!
Man, do I need a little Christmas, right this very minute! It’s funny how some days it just hits you... maybe I’ll watch a Christmas movie tonight to see if that scratches the itch. Anyway, I hope you all are doing well!

Good Morning, Perpetually Pursuing People!
Each and every year - 365 days a year - we relentlessly pursue our long-awaited and much-coveted Christmas Season, eagerly awaiting word on the next Milestone marker which informs us as to our goal's proximity.

Today's vital information:
Days to the Season: 263
Days to Christmas Day: 305

And the 300-Day Christmas Day Window, marker number three?
Well, that lurks just 5 days up the road.
(Not so long to wait, is it?)

Rainy and somewhat chilly all day yesterday with a repeat predicted for today, which in fact has started with the wet suff, accompanied by a thermometer reading of 40 degrees.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Folks.
And enjoy another fine weekend, regardless of whatever weather you are having at the moment!

Merry Saturday MMC! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and avoiding the pesky flu. Our house is still on the sickly side.

No flu - but sinus troubles the last three days - encountered some dust I guess - no pollen or grass around.

Hello all.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday and weekend.

We are headed to a family gathering at the in-laws today. Should be a fun time just sitting around and talking.

Lots of rain and wind in the forecast for today.

We officially bought my wife a new car (2011 Honda CR-V), to replace the Jeep Liberty that was totaled in the accident. We took it to our mechanic and had some work done and we picked it up yesterday. I think it is going to be a really good vehicle overall. Most importantly, my wife is happy with it.

Have a great day everyone!

We have our work social tonight (didn't have one at Christmas).

The theme is black, white and BLING.

I prefer parades and parties without themes, to be honest.

I have a classy pair of black dress pants with faux leather wide strip running from the hips to the knee on both sides.
I have a white blouse to wear under a long black top.
Silver mesh gloves, silver and black beads (look like pearls, but they're more like Mardi gras beads and for the big BLING keeping me unique from the others is a rich gold cape. Might go back for the white shaggy leggings I spotted. Gotta be me; haha.

Running a few errands and hoping to grab a nap before the social.

No rain yet - I heard a snowmobile when I first logged-on to the site; they aren't supposed to ride in the city.

I guess someone else heard it and reported it because it stopped 10 minutes ago. Maybe it was from the body shop nearby and they were testing out the repair job. If it was on the far side of the park like my ears were telling me, there would be a ticket (at least) for the operator.

For those of you who are sick or have loved ones going through stuff, you are in my thoughts for sure.

:ornarment Keep a merry thought in your head -surprise-

We’re having the same issues here with streets and sidewalks being flooded. And it will only get worse tomorrow as they announce a lot of rain. I don’t understand why the city isn’t using the mild temperatures we have had the last few days to really dig into the ice and snow accumulated on the sidewalks and the side of the streets to get the manholes uncovered/thawed out to absorb all the water. And then there will be emergencies left and right tomorrow as entire streets will flood. Not impressed at all with how our city has handled snow and ice this Winter.

Hope you’ll have a great time at your party Auntie.

Good Saturday morning! A glorious sunny and mild day. We’ve even opened the windows a tiny bit. I just completed the grocery shopping for the week and was stubborn and brought it all upstairs in one trip. I miss David’s help but he really can’t lift anything yet. My in-laws are coming this afternoon for a visit and to bring home their fish Psycho. Yes that is the name they gave it. My in-laws are cooky. Hope everyone enjoys a wonderful weekend!

********** EMERGENCY TRAVEL ALERT **********

Hey, Guys. Congratulate me. I just became a Great Uncle for the first time!
My older niece Lauren gave birth to a baby boy last night and my sister and I are just about to leave for Charlotte to see them. (First child born into the family in over 25 years!)
As such, an emergency countdowner will be needed for tomorrow morning only, as we will be spending the night there.

Thanks in advance!

That's so exciting! Congrats to your niece and congrats to you as well, Crown! Hope all is well and everyone is healthy!

Good Saturday morning! The sun is out and the roads have been cleared of the mountains of snow in my area= happiness. David had a pretty bad second night and has barely slept (as did I) but he is doing much better this morning and is in better spirits. I was able to remove his night shirt without causing him more pain, I’m getting the hang of this.

This morning we have to go to a clinic to change his bandages and we’ll look for a few things that he would need to make his life easier. Then I’ll catch up on some laundry and chores and we’ll watch some movies later on. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Praying he is coming along, Martine.

I need to dump a bit before I recharge my merry batteries.

My mom has been on my mind so much today between worries for my husband and a few errands.

I'm happy that most of the memories I've had are from when I was younger; most before she had her stroke.

I got a bit stern with him and sent him to bed because he fell for the fourth time this week and he's got the jello-jiggler legs and can't maneouver too well. He was a bit annoyed at first, but accepted it and is now asleep.

I know it's not his fault, but he's 125 lbs and I just can't lift that weight up and he doesn't want home care; I'm trying to honour his wishes. He was 180 and all muscle when we got married; it's hard to watch him fading like this, but harder thinking about how he has to adjust not the extra things I have to do to compensate. I know he does't feel like the man he was, but that's just physical; he still has his mind and we're still best friends.

My mom used to listen to Nana Mouskouri so I played her album and it gave me some comfort and a little emotional release.

Before my mom died, I hardly let grief show. I think of tears and deep emotion as a waste of time and a sign of weakness because they don't actually make me feel good and it's not logical to cry. I need to be strong so Gary doesn't know how hard it is for me to roll with it.

I turn to music; it has such a powerful source of healing for me.

I consider myself more of a spiritual person than a religious person; the last two weeks there have been so many songs from my youth coming to comfort me.

The songs I used to sing in the Youth Group at church are popping into my head like so many other song worms from the 60's & 70's do; I guess the Lord does work in mysterious ways.

I gave myself permission to cry and now I'm ready to get jolly with it.

Thanks for listening. Y'all know Santa Claus is Coming to Town; I don't want him to catch me pouting.

Stay jolly!

Thinking of you, Auntie.

Hello all.

Well, it has been an eventful couple of days. On Thursday my wife was in a car accident. A guy pulled out in front of her and pretty well destroyed the front of the Jeep Liberty. She is perfectly fine, no injuries at all!
I was crazy, because I was traveling with my Quiz Team to a tournament and saw the aftermath of the crash. We stopped which was great so I knew everything was ok.

We will find out about the estimate on the Jeep Monday, but I will be shocked if they say it can be repaired. We were planning on getting her a new car in a couple of year, but it looks like that was just expedited.

I hope everyone else is having a great weekend!

So glad she is ok!

Bless your heart, Auntie. I know it is a struggle. Nancy is at her mom's right now as she is every evening, helping her bathe, washing the clothes, changing the bedding, getting medicine and meals together...all in an effort to keep her mom at home without too much outside help, per her mom's wishes.

And there's nothing wrong with a good cry now and then. It's probably very good for you!

I'm sending a prayer for your husband AND you.

Keeping you all in prayer as well, Brad.

Thank you; very much appreciated. I feel bad for the cat too; he doesn't seem to know what to make of the situation and mostly just keeps his distance from my husband and rests under my chair and watches him.

He woke up and I made dinner and he went back to bed. It is tough, but when we took our vows I meant the "in sickness and in health" part so we will get through it together even when it's a struggle.

You are so right. (((Hugs)))

I hope everyone has been having a great week! Thoughts and prayers for everyone!
We had a busy weekend as my cousin Evie got married to Stephan yesterday. It was such a happy occasion after all the sadness with her brother passing. Evie asked my dad to give her away as he has been more like a father to her since my uncle passed away on 2009. Carolina was the flower girl. She did a great job. She cried a lot because she thinks she wont ever see Evie again. In April or May, once her FBI clearance goes thru and all the paperwork for dual citizenship is complete, she will be moving to Calgary to live with her husband. I am sharing 2 pictures. The first is of my dad giving her away. The second is Carolina standing with the Maid of honor peeking to see her favorite cousin come down the aisle.

Beautiful! Sounds like a great time!

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

It's been very busy here at work lately. It's great for business, but in an outdoor production environment, it can also cause frayed nerves. We actually need to work some Saturdays to keep up with demand, but five LONG days are enough. I'm glad our new boss understands that. He's a good man.

My brother and I are taking our mom to meet with a surgeon tomorrow to discuss her recent breast cancer diagnosis. We're all confident that this can be treated quickly and that she'll be completely healed. As always, prayers are coveted and appreciated.

Now I have to catch-up on some work that I've let slip through the cracks. I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Keeping your mother and your entire family in my prayers. May God be with her, in this difficult time.

Good morning ~
Merry Friday!
Not too much going on here today, just a typical day of errands and chores. I’m having my coffee and I’m working on a grocery list right now. We’re going out for dinner later tonight to celebrate my youngest daughters fiancés birthday. That’s about it. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great weekend ahead!
xx

Happy Birthday to him!

Hope she enjoys - I think she'll like it. Honda's are great vehicles.
