And don't forget, we are now less than six weeks from Halfoween!
That's the spirit! I ask everyone, please don't wait for me to point something out countdown wise. This is a village of Halloween fans. Anybody please point something out like that any time you want. I didn't even think that today, and hearing it / seeing it now, it made me very happy!

I talk often on here of ways that I wish I could "grow" Jack O Lantern Day beyond simply watching scary movies, and drinking cherry cider and smelling fall candles & wax warmers. I mean, that's fun in itself, but I constantly think of ways to add "more" to the experience. Last year I started a Facebook group page for Jack O Lantern Day, which has been pretty fun! I'm always looking for ways to add to it.

Today I had a random "Halloween Happening". I turned on TV before dinner, and the Roku background screen I noticed had changed over to "spring". That's cool, I thought. So I went looking around in the backgrounds, and sure enough, they had the "Spooky Forest" one leftover from last Halloween season, and "Winter Wonderland" from Christmas. I downloaded them both. Both hit me in the feels, and will have their time and place on Rudolph Day and JOL Day / Dark Arts Sunday.

I think as we get more and more into the new spring, there will be more "Halloween Happenings"! That was just my evening update and I wanted to share.

DAYS TO JOL DAY: 10
DAYS TO HALFOWEEN: 40
DAYS TO THE BERS: 164
DAYS TO OCTOBER: 194
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 224

WEEKS TO OCTOBER: 28
WEEKS TO HALLOWEEN: 32

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Monday to you. Once again, we find ourselves on a week of "Feels". We have (in order), Tom Turkey Day, Rudolph Day, and Dark Arts Sunday. As I always say, something for everyone. A quick check of the counts this morning show some pretty encouraging numbers. Folks, we are just 10 days from Jack O Lantern Day, and tomorrow that drops into SINGLE DIGITS. Also, our "Halfoween" countdown will drop down into the 30's. That's pretty exciting. As LadyLynn pointed out yesterday, that's less than 6 weeks now. And as I see it here today, we are LESS THAN TWO WEEKS, to being HALFWAY TO OCTOBER. Now on to the Monday ice breaker / topic:

Regarding Scary Movies, do you prefer the gory/slasher movies, or the thrillers?

Jason and Michael in our house definitely have their place, but I prefer the thrillers myself!

That's it for Monday, folks. Have a great day!

I prefer Peanuts. I guess you could call it a slasher movie.

I am now following your Facebook Jack O Lantern Day page. What fun!

I like suspense movies like "Rear Window" or "The Quiet." I can't take violence or blood so I have never seen a slasher movie, I know my limits. I would have nightmares for decades. Rich is right, the only slasher movies I can stand are the ones where they "gut" the pumpkin.

That page / group is very much in its infancy, as it just really got going at the beginning of 2021. Nothing like the daily banter and interaction like here. I think there might be a dozen folks following it at this point. I want to try and give it at least a few years to see if it can take off, before pulling the plug on the page. Not every idea is a great one lol.

Thrillers for me too, I don't enjoy the gore- even when the effects were pretty lame, now they are pretty realistic, so I am sure it would be worse.

And Rich always has the best graphics for all occasions!

DAYS TO JOL DAY: 9
DAYS TO HALFOWEEN: 39
DAYS TO THE BERS: 163
DAYS TO OCTOBER: 193
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 223

Good Morning Friends, and Happy Tuesday! We are now down into single digits on the JOL Day count, and now finally in the 30's until Days to Halfoween. That's exciting. Also, less than two weeks now until the 150 days to The Bers milestone. That's kind of amazing in itself. When you sit here and think that you are in the last week of March, everything kind of feels far away. But when you look at the numbers, they sort of tell a different story-

  • We're only 9 days away from JOL Day #2, and we only have FIVE of them total, before making it back to The Bers.
  • We are 10 days away from being HALF WAY to October
  • We are less than a month and a half from being HALF WAY to Halloween!
Even though to me personally March hasn't been "bad" this year, It is still a long month, but I know from past experiences that it will seem to FLY once we get into April. Have a great day, friends!

I went to World Market yesterday after I took my daughter to get her drain out (yeah, finally), and they had some pumpkin spice stuff. Since it was on the clearance rack, of course it is left over from last fall. But still, it made me smile and gave me a small Halloween shiver!
