I agree!I have to agree with you and say A. I am always looking forward to the Bers to begin in September. After that I am quite alright if everything takes it's time getting here.
Twinsies/samesies/twinkies!!!I'm going with C on this one. I can't wait for November 1st. Let the magic begin!!!
May we keep the joy and thankfulness in our hearts throughout the year.Having just completed the 50-Day Preview portion of The Bers (November) today it really made me think of Thanksgiving. All the topics we talked about in November were great. But I almost feel like the non-thanksgiving topics were on a level just below the Thanksgiving Topics. I’m glad in this thread we keep Thanksgiving alive all year because so many people forget about it. And then it comes up and you realize how amazing it is after it’s too late.
May we keep the joy and thankfulness in our hearts throughout the year.
That's why we come here!May we keep the joy and thankfulness in our hearts throughout the year.
I think the last Thursday in November is perfect, but that’s because I can’t imagine it any other way. It just seems right. Just like I can’t imagine Halloween falling on any other day than October 31, or Christmas any other day than December 25.DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 97
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 71
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 10
Happy Fun Friday! Today folks we move along and see that we have 97 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 71 days left until November and 10 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone arriving right now. We have reached the Home Stretch till The Bers. Can you believe that? It is true folks. Our next milestone will be Tom Turkey Day #9 and it will occur on Thursday. It’s Friday folks so time for Fun Fact Friday below!
FDR attempted to change the date of Thanksgiving
In 1939, Thanksgiving was moved to the second Thursday in November by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He was concerned that a shortened Christmas shopping season might impede the economic recovery his series of ‘New Deal’ reforms had been designed to address.
Though 32 states accepted the change, 16 didn’t, which resulted in Thanksgiving falling on two different days until Congress set a fixed date for Thanksgiving on 6 October 1941. They settled on the last Thursday in November.
I didn’t know that. I wonder if we pushed up Thanksgiving to say the 3rd Thursday or 2nd Thursday of November if it would make the holiday season longer, in a way? Have a great Fun Friday!
Too early definitely wouldn't be good!I think the last Thursday in November is perfect, but that’s because I can’t imagine it any other way. It just seems right. Just like I can’t imagine Halloween falling on any other day than October 31, or Christmas any other day than December 25.
I know Canada’s Thanksgiving does fall much earlier though. Like, before Halloween, even. I wonder what it’s like for them? MMC Canadians, let us know if you like having an earlier Thanksgiving!
I almost read that as till "Thanksgiving" and was like waittttttttt I know the whole 10 weeks between the week after Labor Day until the Weekend before Thanksgiving I always talk about...we actually get 11 this year (bonus)!10 weeks until November. So much to do and enjoy between now and then.
