Good Morning Pumpkin People! Finally, after 10 months of having this "new" thread, the Halloween count finally looks "vulnerable".

Seeing it dip below 60 days has really confirmed that with The Bers underway now, we are on a collision course for Halloween. When I started this thread on Halloween night in 2025, that count was pretty "safe", and even in chasing the milestones and special days, I have felt like it was well out ahead of us.

Seeing these counts this morning make it even more obvious that we need to make the most of each day, Bers or not.

I hope everyone has a great day!
I love being a "Pumpkin People", I may start referring to myself as such!

Good Morning Pumpkin Spice People!

Mini-Friday is here. And I found out yesterday that my work is closing early tomorrow at noon. It's awesome to think that a 3.5 day weekend is so close now.

Our "mini heat wave" is over here. By the weekend we have temps in the 70's, and right now next Saturday looks to only make it to 72 degrees! I'm ready for that wonderful September weather.

I hope everyone has a great day!

We put up the Fall decorations a couple of weeks ago. But now I'm ready to take them down and get ready for Halloween. I know I shouldn't rush things, but I get excited.

I understand. It's why we really have a mixture of Fall / Halloween at the moment. They go together here, and then everything switches out November 1st for Christmas! I'm proud that I got my Fall / Halloween lights up on September 1st. Just in time! And I won't be without outside lights or decorations for the rest of this year!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Friday to you!

Half day at work today, and that really adds to the big time holiday feels. I mentioned yesterday we usually don't get a long stretch off like this until Thanksgiving week or Christmas week. I'll take it!

We finally at long last bought our first bag of Halloween candy last night. Abby was overjoyed. She's been asking for them for a long while. I might try and do like others on here and put some bags in the freezer to save for JOL Days, milestone days in 2027. The white Reese's pumpkins are my favorite, and after a couple of weeks of them in the store, they get hard to find.

I'm not sure yet if we are grilling out over the weekend or not. Does anybody have special Labor Day weekend plans?

Have a great day!

Hello Halloween Fans! I hope you are doing well. We made it to Friday. My 3rd week in a row working a full week and it feels so full. We have a 3-day holiday weekend as many of you do as well to come this weekend. Happy Halloween!

Staying home and smoking some wings tomorrow afternoon.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! The FIRST WEEKEND of September is here, and it's a special one! The whole world basically says goodbye to Summer this weekend. I've been saying goodbye to it since July 4th, and definitely since "Fall Preseason" arrived in August.

The counts continue to wind down and you can see now that we are under a week from our next milestone, and the very final time that we will have a 50 day milestone in this thread, that milestone being 50 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN.

My Saturday will be spent mowing the front yard, if the rain holds out, and the later cleaning up the engine bay on the old John Deere 112 and tucking some wiring, as I am all set to install a new engine the weekend of my birthday.

Pumpkin People I hope you are well. I hope you enjoy this first weekend of September. Have a great day!

Hello Halloween Fans! I hope you are doing well. It is Saturday. The holiday weekend is here. It's been a busy morning of food shopping and laundry. Now I'm having lunch and heading to visit my friend and his kids. Happy Halloween!

Good Morning Pumpkin People!

Is today the very final Sunday of Summer? I know the calendar says that Fall is still a few weeks away, but It sure feels like today is "it". It's 62 degrees outside, and the hottest day for the next 10 days is only supposed to be 83. My plan is to go swimming tomorrow for probably the last time at the park. It's called "Cool Springs"

Double nickels today on our Halloween Count! And we fortunately have over two more weeks until these counts really start getting skinny when we lose the "Spooky Season" count.

Halloween candy is now here in our house and we are also keeping some bags in the freezer for 2027. NEVER too early in these threads to plan ahead! I hope everyone has a great day!

Hello Halloween Fans! I hope you are doing well. The Sunday Group is heading to the mall for lunch and Time Mission. Should be a fun and simple day. Kind of the calm before the Autumn Activities Storm coming. Happy Halloween!

Good late evening all!

We started the inside decorating today. Not quite done, but made a good amount of progress. We will do some more tomorrow and throughout finish up throughout the week.

I am hoping to mow the grass tomorrow and might try to at least get the Halloween lights on the bushes.

The drop in temperature today really helped the Fall feel.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Labor Day! Today we "officially" say goodbye to Summer 2026. I said goodbye after July 4th, and especially when August hit, but today is the "official" end, and final day of Summer.

I am sure that there will be people who keep their private pools up a few more weeks, but the big pools are done today. My Dad is going up to the park later today just to make sure the pool is good for its final day.

It's 58 degrees outside. I finished the mowing yesterday afternoon and worked in the flower beds for a while, and in the shade, it absolutely FELT like fall. I think the horrible heat is done here for another summer. There will be some more days I'm sure that gets up in the upper 80's but there shouldn't be anymore heatwaves. And the nights get down into the 50's now for the rest of the month.

I hope everyone has a GREAT Labor Day, I hope everyone reading this is off today, and If you're not off perhaps you can leave early / close early. I will probably be back tonight to give my final thoughts on Summer 2026. Have a great day!

Well, apologies for my absence, but I’m back this week after a nice Bers-kickoff vacation.

As promised, I started Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia on JOL Day, and I’m really enjoying it so far. I also started thinking about which games I’d be playing for the last two JOL Days of the year, and it also gave me an idea of what I’d start doing for next year’s JOL Days.

My Castlevania schedule for the rest of the year’s JOL Days is as follows:

September 30: Castlevania Bloodlines
October 31: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Bloodlines was the first (and only) Castlevania game to make the jump to Sega’s Genesis console back in the 90s, and it’s the direct prequel to Portrait of Ruin. I originally missed this one when it first debuted (I was a Nintendo kid and never owned a Genesis), so I’m excited to go back and finally experience this one.

And for Halloween, I had to pick Symphony of the Night. Considered by many to be the best Castlevania game ever made, it influenced all the other Castlevanias that came after it. I’ve played through this one multiple times and it’s a blast every time. Very fitting to close out Spooky Season with this one.

I’ll talk about what I’ll be doing for next year’s JOL Days when we get closer to Halloween.

I love this! You're not the only person who has already started thinking about "next" anything. In truth I feel like I've neglected the Halloween thread a little bit this year when compared to past years. I too want to improve / add / sharpen up some things. I am truly not a man of excuses but the first six months of this year I had a lot going on and I can "blame" some of that on that.

Even more reason why I respect the heck out of @Edge612 because he's been able to keep his threads going without missing a beat.
