Christmas Countdown - 2012

Happy November 1st everyone! Wow... Halloween was a blast! We had so many kids at the house, that we went thru 30 pounds of candy in 3 hours.

Because of Sandy, I had taken down all my Halloween decorations to keep them safe from the storm, so yesterday I left work early, drove home and spent 6 hours putting all the decorations back up again. A lot of work, but it was worth it for us just to see all the smiles, hear the laughter and see the excitement in the kids and the parents faces, it was wonderful...

Today is also my sons birthday, (he turns 20 today), I can't believe it, I still have a hard time thinking about and wondering where did all the years go??? This is my busy time of year with Halloween, and then my sons birthday, my daughters birthday and my birthday; all in November, then Thanksgiving and Christmas... Whew, by the time January rolls around, I'm ready to hibernate in front of the fireplace for the rest of the winter, lol...

We made it thru the storm ok with only losing power for about a day and a small leak at the rear of the house. Some of my neighbors weren't so lucky, they got hit pretty hard and sustained alot of water and wind damage to their homes. I hope everyone on the East Coast has made it thru the storm ok, and my prayers and thoughts are with everyone that had damage, lost power or even worse...

I hate to say it but I really don't like Halloween. I am so glad it's over! I do not like taking the kids around in the cold and dark. We always leave a bowl out (we get no one on our street because there is one street in the neighborhood that shuts down and everyone congregates!) and some brat stole our bwol and everything. Rude! Never had an issue before! Oh well, at least it's over and we're in a fantastic month now!

I am not the biggest Halloween fan either, how mean is that they stole your bowl.

So my wife wakes all of us up this morning and nobody makes any effort to get ready. My oldest is lying on her floor in her pjs saying see is just too tired to go to school. My middle one comes in the room and joins her in the chant. Then my 3 year old comes in and lies down too. Then me and mommy come in and do the same thing. Yep, a true Halloween hangover was had by all.

One of the worst times I ever pulled my back was (get this) from lifting an empty box!!!!!!!!!!! What? I couldn't believe it. It was just a wrong move is all but it's the fact it would make more sense if it was something heavy.

Hey, remember I tore the ligament of my foot taking the garbage out, after spending all day going up and down ladders and stairs taking down my Christmas lights last year. The simple thing of walking just did it for me.

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

Well, I just had my last meal at my mother-in-law's restaurant, The Anderson House, here in Bellville. She's been in business for 25 years, but now that she's in her mid-70's she needs to retire. Still, it was a sad goodbye. Nancy and I started dating 19 years ago, and I had lunch with her there everyday, and I've eaten lunch there for the last 19 years everyday since.

The place was packed! Nancy got the kids out of school early so they could eat there one last time, too. There wasn't a lot left when I got there, but I can't really eat fried foods, anyway. I had some good turnips, though!

End of an era. Whew.

I was starting to worry about myself in not feeling so good and also feeling the same--vague and anxious. But just taking off work has made me feel so much better that I honestly cannot believe the improvement. Take care and let Christmas melt into your bones!

Wish I could take off from work!! I'm just now leaving for the day. Bleh.
I saved four days to take off during the holidays---two Friday-Monday pairs. I timed them so I don't have a single five-day week between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Kinda wish they'd hurry, but I don't want to wish the season away.

Absolutely! My granddaughter was right, I felt very little last night! I was running all over and she got worn out and said, "Grandma, my feet are hurting". Her great grandma (my mom) took her back to the car to sit down while I walked my grandsons the rest of the way down the block. My mom and I had tons of energy but the kids wore down before us! :lol:

You would be the first person in mind that I would want to have my little Meca if something happened to all of us who take care of her. Not to sound morbid, nothing is going to happen to us but you know what I mean!!!!! I would trust you for sure! =)

It's not dumb at all, I know he is smiling down on us and I can hear him cutting up with us as well! He would hate to see any of us down in dumps!

ya know, i actually started laughing part way through this picture.. I cant take serious ones and when i do.. theres like 20 where im sticking my tongue out or something hahaha

and those vampire teeth are actually molded to my real teeth haha. You get little capsules of powder that you mix with the liquid they give you and it turns gummy then you hold the tooth on yours for 5 mins and wah-lah! it takes 24 hours to fully harden, but I am a procrastinator extraordinaire and molded them at 1pm yesterday.. let them harden for about 3 hours.. then wore them hahahaha
