Well, found out today that we have to tell mom she cannot travel to the states to visit my sister in Vermont anymore. No insurance company will have her now that she had this mini stoke. She will be so sad as going there several times a year for a month at a time is something she so enjoys and looks forward too.
We are still looking into options, but it does not look good. It breaks my heart to have to tell her this. She was planning to go there for your Thanksgiving.

CS so sorry to read this and I so agree with CM3 just when you really need these insurance co they throw there hands up no not us we can't help ~ I hope you can find a solution I will pray for you & your family

22 years ago today I was spending time at Parkland Hospital with my very ill infant son. He was there several days and on Halloween he was feeling a lot better. The hospital had Trick-or-Treating for the kids who were in the hospital by going door to door to different rooms for candy and toys. I decided to join in with my son. A lady in the bed next to us went ahead and joined me with her infant son. We were the only ones who took our baby on that Trick-or-Treating round. I wasn't going to have my son miss out on his first Halloween adventure! I had a costume already and we were suppose to go out for real along with my daughter but he got ill and had to miss out on that so we had to make the best of it in the hospital. Here I was carrying him and rolling around his IV next to him. It was fun to see the other kids having fun. Of course my son don't remember it but at least I have the memory of taking him and he knows he got to go. I always try to make the best out of every situation and glad we joined in on that little bit of fun! It has always been a very fond memory of mine that I thought I would share with you all.

Happy Halloween my Christmas friends!!!

Thank you made!!!! I did tune in yesterday I just forgot my manners!!!

My grandpa is not doing well. He wouldn't go to the hospital to get checked, even the police couldn't get him there. We were worried about internal bleeding, but we are pretty sure he'd be having some serious side effects or symptoms by now. His chest is very, very sore from the seat belt and the airbag. We have been trying to visit him constantly, but he doesn't want company. He can barely get up from his seat because it hurts his chest too much to move. He says it is just soreness and not any pain. I don't know what to do! I feel so bad that he is in pain. Especially with his age, I think it is going to take quite some time to recover. He said if he doesn't feel any better by the end of the week that he'll go to the doctor. All of this on top of the storm is really no picnic!

I will pray for your Grandfather, it is so hard but like CS stated you have to respect their wishes but it is so hard to see them hurting

I can't wait until November first to listen to Christmas carols. I am officially starting now. It's November first somewhere, right?!

LOL!!!! Loved that!!! LOL!!!!

The kitty is here with me! Safe so far! It really is a sweet kitty & I wish I could keep her. BUT she is going to my friends farm. It shocked me this morning - my hubby let her in the house! She has been sleeping in the garage. I have her food & littler box out there. It's still warm in our garage. Anyway - he said he let the cat in this morning & my jaw about hit the ground! Tee hee!

That was real sweet of him

Sorry, I spelled the name wrong - it is Sydney Candle Co. & here is a link to the scent I am talking about, made right here in Ohio.

http://sydneycandle.com/product/first-snow/

thank you I just bookmarked it wooo hoooo I love candles

All their scents are listed on the website. I will have to burn it tonight. Its not wrong to have the house smelling like Christmas for trick or treaters, is it???

not at all - funny I bought a few candle from yankee and have had them burning LOL

Yes, that is my baby!!! Love Crazy Eights, but I haven't played in a long time! It was so good to hear from you. You know how we worry!

Thanks SW

Hubs and I went as Lt. Dangle and Det. Clementine Johnson (the blonde cop on Reno 911!) for Halloween two years ago! It's the picture on the front page of our wedding website (if you click the link in my signature). That was probably my favorite EVER costume! Hubs was so nervous to wear shorts that shirt, but he pulled it off so well! I bet your DH looked great as Dangle too!

hahahahah Oh, I want to see that pic! I wish I would gone as Det. Clementine Johnson!! That woulda been priceless!
He was a little apprehensive at first, But i kept bugging him to buy the dang costume, so he did. He rocked it!! He said the only thing that made him a little uncomfortable was the women & MEN that kept smacking his butt at the dance.. I thought it was quite hilarious hahaha.

The Real RCMP Showed up to make sure everything was running smoothly & Saw DB.. They all stood there, & laughed.

thanks! first time I have heard it this year!!!!

That was the first time I had heard it this year too! What the heck, usually they play it non-stop on the radio!!

Did anyone else notice that They didn't play as many Halloween movies on tv either? or was I just blind hahaha

wow we are havong tons of kids this year..theya re coming in groups of like 30 to 40 then they leave then another group cpmes...most are cute and polite...others well seem to be entitled brats..hope mine are not like that when they grow up!! anyway brandi went back to the store because we are running out of candy..meanwhile I have some scary music playing on the front porch!! it's suppose to get down to 45F tonight..then we are warming up the next week...our leaves are still changing too...well I am about to log off for the night! Happy Halloween everyone!

All Cute costumes Aside, Some of the little kiddies were too nervous? Or afraid? to speak to me haha. Their parents had to say trick or treat, Poor little guys!!
Alas, I was dressed up as a vampire.. But i didnt think i was that scary:(

I had a couple and they had to have been at least 20, Which I thought was hilarious!!

very wet and chilly night here, had only about 6 kids come to the house. My son took a bunch of kids out and they came back in an hour wet and cold.

Now what am I going to do with all this left over candy?

... We ran outta candy over here..

Could be because DB couldn't keep his grubby little paws off it.. hahaha.. like come on.. who eats the kids candy.. before they even get here..
OK FINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a guilty too.

Okay, I have a bit of a rant this morning!!

So Out of pure excitement today, I posted on Fb Happy November 1st, Trees are going up today.
a couple moments later, i see another post about how People shouldn't be putting up decorations for Christmas till after November 11, Remembrance day, out of respect.

I commented & let her know that As I am very excited for The following season, That I Do respect Anything, everyone & Everything to do with Nov.11, And that only my inside decorations were going up. Well in response, I got to each their own, I don't even think about Christmas till that day is done.

This ticks me off!! I do respect Nov. 11, the veterans & all the men & women still fighting for our freedom. I wear my poppy Proud, & I always have my moment of silence.. And when I can, I go to Ceremonies to honour those fallen & still fighting. I don't mean any disrespect to those who fought for us to be free & Still do!!
I don't or didn't mean to offend anyone, but I guess I did. It just sucks, because to me, Putting up my tree doesn't me I am being disrespectful... I'm just excited.

I have a FB account, but only because my family in Buffalo uses it a lot.

I hear a lot of folks get upset about something that was posted, or an ex who's relationship status has changed to "in a relationship", etc. It's too much for me to want to deal with.

I'm sticking with MMC! cheesy

When I walked through the Hobby Lobby and Lowes Christmas sections, I was whistling "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas". And although no one joined in, there were many happy smiles. I'm sure they were humming it as they walked on.

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

Well, I just had my last meal at my mother-in-law's restaurant, The Anderson House, here in Bellville. She's been in business for 25 years, but now that she's in her mid-70's she needs to retire. Still, it was a sad goodbye. Nancy and I started dating 19 years ago, and I had lunch with her there everyday, and I've eaten lunch there for the last 19 years everyday since.

The place was packed! Nancy got the kids out of school early so they could eat there one last time, too. There wasn't a lot left when I got there, but I can't really eat fried foods, anyway. I had some good turnips, though!

End of an era. Whew.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

I really dislike FB for reasons like this BUT I have never in my life heard of needing to wait until after Remembrance Day to put up a Christmas tree...not even once. I hear people complain about it before Thanksgiving ALL THE TIME but Remembrance Day?!?

Funny how some people will get high and mighty about almost anything.

When I was growing up a magician lived around the corner from us and he did tricks for us instead of giving treats, it wasn't disappointing at all.

That is so cool, your own Magic Show on Halloween!!! Too cool, PS - I love the picture of spooky kitty!!! LOL

I just marked my calendar for the biggest on-line Christmas Party ever - December 16th! I'll be poking my merry head in for a visit.

I feel like we will blink and poof it will be 12/16!!!

Well my niece's went to 3 house's before they came home. They were afraid that people would have dogs that would bite them. I don't know why they suddenly developed a fear of dogs but my sister needs to get them over it. I mean my BIL's mom has had a dog all of their lives so it's not like they haven't grew up around one.

Made, maybe there is another reason for this? Sometimes children manifest a fear of something and it isn't related at all. It could very well be something else that is effecting them and the fear of a barking dog is the form it took for them; it is tough because sometimes when they are young they can't even really tell you what it is, but if they have never been hurt by an animal or they have not witnessed it something else is the root of this fear. Sometimes doing exercises with drawing can help determine what it is; wish I could be of more help. I was a little bit of the oppsit of your niece's instead of fearing I had no fear which is just as bad. Talking to a tursted adult helped me

I've asked them why they are afraid and they just say they are scary. So I don't know.

Also, you can try having them tell you a "story" about dogs or what is going on in there life have them make it into a story what they tell you / and it can start out by having them do it a little at a time kind of build up to what makes them frightened

so glad to hear you are safe and could at least check in! Get a long extention cord and plug into starbucks!

thank you very much CS, hmmm, now where did I put that pesky cord!!!! LOL

HAPPY 1ST DAY OF NOVEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The season is almost upon us!!!

I love seeing who is the 1st post of the day!!!

Good Morning.
Welcome to the Day After and the First Day Of.

By that, we mean the Day After Halloween and the First Day of November.
The month that will not only see Thanksgiving, but also the fantastic launch of Christmas Season 2012!

And that auspicious point is closer than you might think:
Days to the Season: 12 (Getting incredibly close to SINGLE DIGITS!)
Days to Christmas Day: 54 (It will be down to seven weeks before you know it!)

With time growing so short, I hope everyone on the "Special Post" list is finalizing their messages.

To recap:
1) November 08 -- Five days before the Season -- Ballcoach
2) November 09 -- Four days before the Season -- Binger
3) November 10 -- Three days before the Season -- Christmasstar
4) November 11 -- Two days before the Season -- Caninemom
5) November 12 -- One day before the Season -- Seawaters
Then! November 13 -- CHRISTMAS SEASON 2012 BEGINS -- (I'll try to have a few words to say.)

Wow! Isn't this exciting??
It truly is "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year"!

I just love the SPECIAL POSTS!!! I cannot wait to see what is written I so love reading them

Happy November 1st everyone! Wow... Halloween was a blast! We had so many kids at the house, that we went thru 30 pounds of candy in 3 hours.

Because of Sandy, I had taken down all my Halloween decorations to keep them safe from the storm, so yesterday I left work early, drove home and spent 6 hours putting all the decorations back up again. A lot of work, but it was worth it for us just to see all the smiles, hear the laughter and see the excitement in the kids and the parents faces, it was wonderful...

Today is also my sons birthday, (he turns 20 today), I can't believe it, I still have a hard time thinking about and wondering where did all the years go??? This is my busy time of year with Halloween, and then my sons birthday, my daughters birthday and my birthday; all in November, then Thanksgiving and Christmas... Whew, by the time January rolls around, I'm ready to hibernate in front of the fireplace for the rest of the winter, lol...

We made it thru the storm ok with only losing power for about a day and a small leak at the rear of the house. Some of my neighbors weren't so lucky, they got hit pretty hard and sustained alot of water and wind damage to their homes. I hope everyone on the East Coast has made it thru the storm ok, and my prayers and thoughts are with everyone that had damage, lost power or even worse...

I am so glad you made it thru the storm OK, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you , your son, and daughter!!! I know I put a few of mine back up on Tuesday no power but at least the Jack-O-Lanters were glowing!!!

Good afternoon!
It's November 1st!!!!!
And I've just finish making my collage for October
You can see it in my blog here

Solice all I can say is WOW, thanks for sharing

Ok let's see of I did it right!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk see, I actually figured it out.. Thanks Merry!

Wooo Hoooo you go CS

So my wife wakes all of us up this morning and nobody makes any effort to get ready. My oldest is lying on her floor in her pjs saying see is just too tired to go to school. My middle one comes in the room and joins her in the chant. Then my 3 year old comes in and lies down too. Then me and mommy come in and do the same thing. Yep, a true Halloween hangover was had by all.

LOL - sounds like good fun had by ALL!!!!

Hosting ‘Mistletoe Mix’ on Merry Christmas Radio is a perfect outlet for indulging my passion and for spreading the above quoted message bullet (*) infections right on to YOU, my merry friends (well, at least to the two or three of you that listen) !!!

You're welcome!
