Your dinner sounds delicious! There will be no cooking for me tonight. We will be heading out to the lake. I will head out there after work & get the trailer warmed up, and things put away - and when our friends & Jim arrive, we'll go out to eat! I have had it made this week! We had leftovers Monday & Tuesday, out to eat last night & tonight our weekend starts! My MIL has a rule of "Kitchens Closed" on the weekends! I sometimes enforce her rule! HA HA! Although I'll be cooking chili on Saturday - but hopefully over the fire.

Fall weather here. Chilly with a high of 72. Should be cooling off quite a bit over the next week or so. Unfortunatey we wont be seeing the snow that those in the NorthEast are seeing. Cleaning out the garage to make room for my vehicle the rest of the day.

As we proceed through the Fall, the days keep getting shorter......as does our count.

Today's figures:
Days to Halloween: 4 (Just over HALF A WEEK left!)
Days to the Season: 17 (Now UNDER 2 1/2 weeks!)
Days to Christmas Day: 59 (UNDER 8 1/2 weeks to go!)
(Yep. Those numbers just keep getting smaller and smaller.)


One last coolish day yesterday. Now we are in for a warm stretch, possibly getting past 80 at some point later this week or next.
(My goodness. Good and bad weather comes and goes so quickly around here!)
Currently, we see sunny skies, calm winds and a temperature reading of 51 degrees here in the middle of NC.

Good Thursday morning! Was awake for about 2 hours in the middle of the night again. Too many things on my mind. Last day of work this week and then a long weekend ahead. I'm working the afternoon/evening shift but will be going in early (part of that due to too many things on y mind). Hope everyone will have a great day!

Good Morning .. Chilly overcast this morning with rain moving in later today. I am home with the kids today as they both had dental surgery yesterday and they both still have some discomfort and swelling. They will get plenty of cold foods again today: yogurt, applesauce, pudding and of course ice cream LOL. One of our local radio stations has a link to their christmas music preview on their website so I am sitting here listening to that this morning while enjoying my coffee. I am going to try to get some baking in this afternoon.

Good Thursday Morning MMC! Closing in on the Halloween Weekend! A chilly, cloudy even snow flurry day! A little too early for me in late October! It feels more like Thanksgiving or Christmas. But we still haven't reached Halloween yet. I have a Statistics Midterm after work so a busy day ahead. Better get started.

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

We had supper at Mrs. Hilda's last night. Homemade soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Mmm, mmm, mmm! It's just too bad that it's still 80° outside. That would be really good in 30° weather!

Jacob's band has a gig tonight. I'm not sure if we're going or not, though. Well, I probably will, but Nancy might not. Thursday nights are tough at our age LOL!

Good morning MMC! Merry rainy, windy, cold Friday Eve!!! Actually it's "Friday" for me! (and @MerryCarey ) Woop! Looking forward to having tomorrow off, even though the weather right now is less than desirable for lake weather. LOL! Supposed to be mid 70's by Saturday!


I'm feeling Christmassy today! I switched the Christmas CD in the vehicle from Sheryl Crow to Neil Diamond. Need to get all these "not favorites" listened too before the season starts, AND I just activated the SiriusXM in the Durango since Channel 4 will change to "Holly" on Tuesday!

What a big wonderful family! It took us 1 hour & 15 minutes to get through the receiving line last night! My cousin was cremated so there was no casket - there was no room in there for it anyway - they had the entire room filled with his brothers/sisters/in-laws. They are all so sweet!
My family all went together & then went out for pizza & drinks after. It was as nice as a night can be when you have to go to the funeral home.
Today is not a nice weather day for the funeral mass! Most of my brothers/sisters are going as well as Mom. I didn't want to take off work again, since I'm off tomorrow & we're working on this new software. Fred was quite a bit older than me - I'm the youngest of 55 cousins & he's in the "older cousins" bracket so I didn't know him as well as my brothers/sisters. I'll pick Mom up on my lunch from the dinner after the mass so I'm sure I'll get to talk to some of the cousins then.
I think I just wrote a book... Ha ha

Been a quiet day. Took my youngest for his flu shot. Children were invited to wear their costumes and take a photo in the clinic's Halloween grotto.
I'm off to make dinner . Our long Halloweekend kicks off tonight. Mr Festive has tomorrow off work with us.

Good morning, everyone!

Happy Thursday! I say "happy" Thursday because tomorrow is a PA Day. No school for my board. I have an appointment outside of school, too, so I cannot even work with the Catholic board. I guess it's a nice four day work week for me. I'm back at Russell today, and will be for the next week or so. As a substitute teacher, it's great to have a full week lined up in advance especially at the same school!

The wind has returned for a day. The leaves have mostly all fallen and the ominously empty tree branches are showing their spooky Halloween spirit. Temperatures this morning were below freezing, and should sit around the mid to low 30s/freezing mark for much of the day. We might even see a mix of snow and rain sometime today. It's a little early, but at least it won't stick around just yet.

Well, my prep is almost over. I think I should get a few things done. I hope everyone is having a great Thursday!

We've been watching Fear Fest, and making some snacks for the weekend.
