Good Morning, Folks.
Well, it is here.
The start of the the final week.
A week that will end with Christmas Day!!

Days to Christmas Day: 6 (UNDER A WEEK TO GO, NOW!!)
(366 down to 6. Holy Moly!)


We had the promised warm day yesterday but it came with rain, dampening what should have been a really nice last good day.
The cold is back now for today and we have commenced this final home stretch week at 37 degrees here after another overnight rain, and we likely will not get out of the thirties all day.

Good morning .. Can't believe we are in the final week before Christmas. I work today and tomorrow then I am off until after the New Year! Need to finish wrapping and get my baking done all by Friday. I have a feeling my coffee pot will be getting a work out this week LOL!

Good morning everyone! Wow, it December 19! I wonder how things are going at the North Pole. Does Santa get nervous before his big ride?

Well, yesterday we had Christmas number one. We spent the day with my wife's family. Her parents are amazing and go all out for Christmas. Lots of fun and good times.
Over the weekend we had a lot of ice. Then super cold temperatures moved in so the ice cannot melt. As a result, NO SCHOOL TODAY!!! My wife was already off today, but the boys and I have school through Wednesday.

I was dressed and ready to leave when the school closed. It took me all of about 30 seconds to be back in my Christmas (Charlie Brown) sweatpants. Now, I am going to relax and drink coffee!

Hello all, I hope I can join in?

Only today and tomorrow at work for me, then I'm off. The kids are still at school until Friday so I'm hoping to use some time to wrap presents and get the house tidied as well as do some baking. Any ideas on quick things to bake are very much appreciated as I'd like to try some new recipes this year.

I'm in Scotland, UK and it is really warm at the moment which is unusual. I'm hoping we might have a bit of cold for Christmas Day itself, it doesn't seem right being able to go outside without a thick coat on!

Doggone weather ... Mr. slid off the road and hit a mailbox post. Nobody was hurt, and he was able to limp the car home, but the car is definitely not going anywhere until it gets repairs.

I just gave him a couple fresh-from-the-oven chocolate chip cookies to help him feel better.

I hope your husband is feeling ok and the car repairs are not too much. Have a great day!

Good Sunday morning! The Sunday before Christmas, that is crazy! We are so not ready! Somehow we'll make it work. We had a frozen pipe in the kitchen yesterday and were dreading having to pay hundreds of dollars for a plumber but David put on a space heater near the pipes and everything is ok this morning. Freezing rain this morning and then back to very cold weather tonight. And after work today I have to get some baking done, as my family is coming over on Tuesday. A long day ahead. Have a great Sunday everyone!

So glad David was able to thaw them out..have a great Monday!

Sorry I haven't been around the last few days, we have been incredibly busy. It is so hard to enjoy the greatest season of all when you have no time to enjoy it. We went down to Mohegan Sun last night for the New England Black Wolves Fan Fest, the boys got to meet every player on the team and got their autographs. They were so thrilled to meet their heroes, they don't know we got them season tickets for the upcoming season. They will find out Christmas morning.
4 more working days until vacation, it is so needed at this point. 2 days on, Wednesday off, 2 days on, vacation!

Morning! This was the longest weekend ever lol. I was busy nonstop from the time I got home Friday right up till midnight Sunday night/Monday morning. It wasn't unexpected though. It just has put me behind on wrapping which I will have to make up for each night this week. I do not want to wrap any gifts on Christmas Eve. I always make sure that I am done by the 23rd. 4 days of work for me and then 4 days off for Christmas. Looks like we'll see near/slightly above normal temps for Christmas this year. After last year's it will be a definite improvement (20 degrees colder) but still not quite a white one since the snow we got Saturday has mostly melted. Have a great last Monday before Christmas!

I am the same way...I do not want to wrap anything on Christmas Eve! Hope you have a great Monday!

Good afternoon everyone! Here we go, the final week! Got my final bits this morning so that's all the gifts bought, all my food is coming on Friday morning, ( I have it delivered, the supermarkets are ridiculously busy!!!) it will include all my baking products, xmas eve is a day of baking for me and the girls.

Just putting the final touches to my menu for xmas day, I keep forgetting things! I think we will have enough food to last us until next christmas at this rate haha!

Good morning MMC!!! Merry Christmas week Monday!!!!

We had a very nice weekend - though I have come down with a bug. It started Friday night at Moms. Stuffy nose, runny nose, coughing, cow sitting on my chest kind of thing....but we still had a GREAT weekend with friends! No time for being sick. I warned everyone who came to our house or who we were going to be with & offered to stay away but they all said they are dealing with the same thing at their homes, so it doesn't matter. My brother was just here at work & he said he started with it Friday too. YUCK! Today is my last day for this. I'm going to be 100% tomorrow!
Friday night I made all kinds of goodies at Moms, also got up her Christmas decs - great night...and then poof - the icks started about 10pm! Saturday we made cookies at our house. Yesterday was Christmas at the in-laws & we met up with friends later. It all went so fast! I am SO looking forward to having next week off work!!! This morning would have been the perfect morning to stay in PJ's, curled up in a soft blankey & watching The Polar Express!! Guess I'll have to wait til next week for that!

8 days??? Someone hit the pause button!!!!

Freezing rain overnight. Roads are a skating ring. People stuck on the interstate for 9 hours. Think I'll delay my grocery trip until later this afternoon. Then more freezing rain overnight tonight again.

I agree - where's that pause button??
We still have a skating rink out there!! Main roads are fine but back roads (and our sub-division) are nothing but ice!! YIKES!
Jim's brother & family from Indy didn't make it home yesterday for Christmas - don't blame them a bit!

Morning! 1 week till Christmas Eve (the best day of the year IMO). Unreal. We have a winter wonderland out this morning. It's going to be milder later though and wet so everything will be slushy. I won't name what I have to do today because it's crazy...I really don't have enough time and my Uncle wants us to go over tomorrow. I have too much to do so I'm not sure if I will. My brother came in last night from San Diego. He is here so all is good! Hard to believe it's that time again!!!

He's at home dealing with the insurance company today. I'm getting upset, because it's possible they'll total the car because of its age ... and I'm not at all prepared to buy a replacement. I hope the adjuster decides it can be repaired. This is beginning to really darken my week.

I'm glad David was able to fix it. Frozen pipes are definitely thing you don't need - especially this time of year! I hope you were able to get everything done that you were wanting too. Enjoy Christmas with your family tomorrow night!

Morning everyone. 12 pm and I have apprx. 300 Spritz cookies I have made today. The cookie press hasnt been kind to me today and more than once I thought of bouncing it off the floor!! Going to try out a Sugar Cookie that you use the gun on next.
