Yes, it did "leaf" me breathless! My husband works for the US Forest Service, and he was in the forest all last week reparing one of the lookout stations!

Cherylle in CA

Thanks.

Well, I have to admit, I haven't climbed up a Fire Tower since - well - EVER. I've climbed a few wooden lookout points no problem there, but nothing that was 50 meters up. I only made it to the middle landing (halfway) because it was freezing and my hands were becoming numb and I wanted to make sure they still worked for clicking what I liked. I think the Fire Tower can be seen in the fourth or fifth photo. Did you see how high that was?

I remember when I was grade six and we took a school trip to a Pulp and Paper Mill in Quebec. I started up a staircase that was like a street grate in a big city and I could see the pulp vats below and I was halfway up and all of a sudden my feet froze. My knees wouldn't bend and I couldn't follow my group. The teacher said I might lose points because I won't know the answers to the questions. I told him I didn't know what was going on, I just couldn't take another step. I was frozen. (Didn't know I was afraid of anything.) Going down wasn't easy.

I was quite pleased today to trot up to the halfway point as if I was born to climb. Okay, there was a moment of a deep gulp when I rounded the first landing, but the structure was very secure so I pushed on.

:hello: When I venture out these days to take photos, I take along a vinyl yoga mat and long rubber boots (not hip waders) in case I need to get into a messy area or go down on the ground to capture a cool shot.

We went to Hallmark today for their ornament premiere. They had a Christmas Vacation interactive ornament of when Clark Griswold plugs in the lights to his house. You press the button and the whole house lights up and plays Hallelujah. It's cute and silly!

We also went to Garden Ridge and they had LOTS of Christmas goodies out.

Made, do you have a Garden Ridge? Lots and lots of really nice Santa's. I told Wayne I wish I brought my camera to take some pictures for you.

Then we headed to Cracker Barrel and they had so many nice ornaments. All their Halloween stuff was 25 percent off. I picked up a really cute pumpkin decoration/toy that you push the head down and it lights up and pops up and says, "Happy Halloween"! and a few other phrases. I wanted to buy it awhile back and it was only $4.99 which I thought was good but then got the extra discount today.

We went to lunch and later went out for dessert. We had a great day!

I hope you all are having a nice Saturday!

:)) Now I'm the jealous one. HOHOHO! Christmas, Hallmark Premiere and Cheese - great pleasures!

oh i've had a lovely day. took my baby girl to the local farmer's market and to the park to play on the swings, she had so much fun! she is so intelligent, she has started to repeat words that i say and can say about 10 words confidently (she was only 1 two weeks ago!) i hope i have a mini einstein! cheesy

the lovely little village that is local to me is starting to get prepared for the lighting of their christmas tree. everybody gathers in the village whilst the lights of the tree are switched on, carols are sung and free mulled wine and mince pies are given out. the kids then visit santa in his grotto. it happens some time in the middle of next month and i can't wait.

this is going to be the best christmas ever, can feel it in my bones!:tree:

Good evening Christmas family

After we stopped for breakfast my sister and I went to the Hallmark ornament premiere today and it was wonderful !! The weather here was perfect. There were SO MANY ornaments. There was one that was an Andy Grffith show one and when you pushed the button it played the Andy Griffith theme !!! Still really like that that. They also had an ornament for the Christmas special from last year, Prep and Landing which I got !!

It was a really nice day. We got to visit and looked at lots of different ornaments and things and just be together !

The next one is in November and we usually do not make that one.

Hope everyone had a nice Saturday. Tomorrow, Sunday, is my Monday. So it is off to bed for me soon !!!

Just stopping by to say hello real quick. We had a blast tonight and I took some Christmas Blossom Pics. Will post those in the morning. Night all!

Good Morning MMC !

Had a great time at our family Thanksgiving yesterday. Lots of great food and company.

Today we do another one here at my place, not as many but just as fun!
I also will be taking some turkey etc to my friend who is in the hospital tomorrow.

Hope you all have a fantastic day!
:carve:

I had a dream that someone broke into our house I was upset about what they took but I was most upset about them stealing Christmas decorations than anything else lol. Weird!

Good morning! I don't know about everyone else, but I sure do love Sunday mornings. They are so nice and calm. I love reading the boards, looking at my favorite sites, drinking coffee, and watching tv all at the same time. It isn't very productive, but it sure is nice.

Hobby Lobby is in full Christmas mode! They had all of their stuff out and we got a 50% sale on some items. We spent about 75 dollars and got alot of stuff. That was fun. After that, we headed to the mall and did some other shopping, but I had another pumpkin spice latte and IT WAS WONDERFUL (as if it wasn't the first time).

Can't believe that this week has the 1/2 way point through October. Gonna be Nov. in a few weeks.

I booked Friday and Tuesday off because it's also my Wedding Anniversary Thanksgiving Weekend so I like to stretch out the celebration!

Without further ado, I present a quick video of the beautiful shots I captured this morning.
Congrats, and the video is amazing! Such a beautiful pictures! Thank you for sharing =)

@ every one who was excited about the hockey season starting: hope your team wins =)

@ ballcoach & jeff: the education problems are not just problems of the USA. Here in Europe there's a lot of educational problems as well! And we don't even have to choice of ome education! Evidently teachers here can't even do math! I hope that in the near future there will be a lot of progress on this subject!

I hope you all have a terrific weekend!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!!! Well after a full night of rest I am ready to head back out to the fall festival. It will be crowded today. Everyone will be there to watch the parade. My mom and aunt found a few things they liked yesterday but didn't buy so I will try to pick them up today for christmas gifts. I am trying to concerate on christmas gifts right now but they had some cute santa's there yesterday. I may have to buy 1 or 2 today if they still have them. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sounds great =) hope you have/had an amazing day and was/will be able to buy some nice gifts =) (and santa's for yourself :D )

The presentation went well and I only have one more morning before heading back to Ottawa!
Congrats!
It's a beautiful day in Ottawa today. The sun is shining and a welcomed cool fall breeze is in the air. Temperatures are to reach 55F. There is a frost warning for tonight, too. Yes, fall is in full swing! Kim and I are being picked up this evening to head to Cornwall where we will stay at her mom's house and celebrate Thanksgiving at her sister's on Sunday. I cannot fathom how excited I am for delicious food tonight and tomorrow. Dinner is tomorrow night, but Kim's mom is a fantastic cook and everything should be very good tonight.
Sounds great, have a great time =)

@ all the canedian members: Have a great thanksgiving :)

Just had to catch up quite a lot, because i was at a cake-decorating fair as one of the editors of a cake decorating magazine. We worked hard, it was a lot of fun, and i was totally tired at the end of it :)
Just heard my parents will be stopping by, so now i have to clean and bake something :) (and maybe put on something better than sweats )
We do have some pretty good news: My boyfriend got a job offer for a PhD position in Amsterdam! Just what he wanted, so we are both really glad :D
wish every one a great Sunday!

Good Morning my Christmas Friends!

I am going to pick up a bale of straw at work today and finish decorating my front lawn. I bought a 5 ft. scarecrow from Big Lots on sale for $4.44. It has a stake on it so it can be place it in a bale of straw or hay.

The other day I bought a 7 ft. inflatable Haunted Halloween House lawn decoration. It was still sealed in it's package and only $9.99! Those are not cheap in the stores. I was shocked I got it so cheap. It lights up too.

Whenever I get done with everything I will get a picture posted.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

'Mornin, Folks!

And it's a beautiful one here in central NC where we stand at 58 degrees with lots of sun and not a breath of wind.

Went roving at Belks, Macys and Sears yesterday snappin' away with my trusty Kodak.
All three stores had their Christmas sections and merchandise in place presenting excellent photo opportunities. Look to see all of them shortly in the Blossoms thread.

Without further adieu, the count:
Days to the Season: 34
Days to Christmas Day: 76
Yes Sir, Mam and Indeterminant, we are now under 5 weeks away from Christmas Season 2010 which begins one month from Wednesday.
Wowsers!

You all have a Super Sunday now, y'hear?
And may the spirit of the Season be with you.

Good Morning Friends,

First off man i am beat went to a party last night and got home about 330 am. Boy I realized that i am getting to old to be out at a party that late last night. So this morning just setting out on the porch with some coffee, enjoying the cool tempture at least for a bout another hour. They said today should be 88-89 bah thats a way to spoil i a nice fall day.

Today also starts Hasbro new channel so i will be flipping between that and football and just veg on the couch the rest of the day. If you had Discovery Kids, then you should have the HUB. They play stuff like Fraggle Rock, Strawberry Shortcake, Pound Puppies, GI Joe (80's) and (2010) series, Transformers (80, 2010) as well. Nights they will play Family Ties, 60's Live action Batman, Doogie Housier, Happy Days and more. The great thing is they all start with the first episodes tonight.

Yes, I saw that shot. I am deathly afraid of heights and flying, so I feel your pain!!

I love going to anything to do with cakes. I have been in a few competitions and they can be very tiring even though fun!

Congratulations to your boyfriend! Will you have to move now?

This sounds absolutely divine!! I loved it when my kids repeated words back to me. I am sure this Christmas will be extra special because of that sweet baby that really isn't a baby anymore.
