I just went outside and it's HOT I missed out on most of the summer but it's HOT like august! I know there is a cool front coming through this weekend...and the temps look amazing and the weather is going to be beautiful!!
Brandi has changed around my house so much since I have been gone,Now I amtrying to look for a place to put the tree...she tells me it's way too early to worry about that.heh:( new furniture new everything. It looks great though I have to say. She gets home in 2 hours and I have just now cleaned the kitchen from out breakfast,so I need to get busy and brush snowball my brazialian Mastiff bulldog....he needs it desperatly!

Hey all! Quick note. Need prayers for a friend at work. His Mother has cancer that has spread. She wont make it but Ill need some prayers to help her have as little as pain as possible when she passes to see the Lord.

I am having an ok day. I heard back from TD. I have another phone interview with them. Just waiting to hear back the time, I have to work around my work schedule. They have a Crush pop out for Halloween. Dracula is on the front and its called Blood Cherry. Very good. Well back to work I go. Hope everyone is having a good day and I REALLY need the pines tomorrow!!!

Prayers for your friends mom... I am so very sorry for the news they received.

Crush pop!!! When I was in college in MI they called it that - I only knew it as soda!

You guys always get my prayers and undrtakr I'm sending them onto your friend right now, but I too have found myself in search of comforting words and the attention of God's ear. We had bad news yesterday my friends little boy, age7, found out he has Leukaemia and has to start treatment next week. Its hit us hard as our boys play together and its going to be hard going for the family over the next weeks/months/years. I can't imagine feeling what they are as what I personally feel right now is terrible so it must be magnified for them. He's in hospital at the moment and the kids from his class all took gifts up of magazines etc to cheer him up. He will definitely be in my prayers and thoughts each day as will the family.

Also some news for my UK friends check out this weather report just posted http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...now-forecast-parts-Britain-early-October.html
Fingers crossed they got it wrong as the UK can't deal with that type of weather!

Best wishes to you all.
Naomi

Your friends little one, prayers will be said, I am so sorry that they have to face this.

Wow I cannot believe that weather report!

Good afternoon,

We are trying a new recipe for dinner, cooking a whole chicken in the crock pot, it smells great, I hope it tastes just as yummy.

Have a great evening!

Are you going to post the reciepe???

Good afternoon, Christmas family!

. I did a bunch of errands earlier and bought Palmer an early Christmas present - a cat bed - she loves it! I'm going to take her picture with my phone and try to post it on here tomorrow. I know I am very biased, but she is the cutest kitten!!!

I hope everyone has a great evening!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I love that they are SOOOO super small and the cat bed looks SO big... too cute for words!

LOL Here in Canada is called POP. If you ask for soda you might end up with club soda haha.

I think if you head to parts of Harlem, the Bronx (notice you have to put The before Bronx - tee hee), Brooklyn, or Queens if you order a POP you'll get one alright but it may not be what you are expecting!!!! Now if you said it is Kings county they would turn their noses up and say we do not speak with the minions!!! Ha, Ha, Ha!!!

Good evening,

I just want to start by saying the chicken in the crock pot experiment was awesome, it is the best chicken I ever had. I posted the recipe in the recipe section threads. It was so juicy and flavorful, it didn't need gravy.

Ohhh yeah thank you so much!!!! I will have to get a copy!

When I was growing up in the South, we mostly called it Co-coler or dope; yes, dope! Sometimes we would call it sody dope!! Yankees called it pop. Now I call it soda or pop or by its brand name! No more dope for me!!!

Yankees don't call it pop!!! We call it soda SW!!! tee hee...

I was a bad girl this evening. Hubby is out of town until tomorrow. I turned the AC up so it is cold and then took a hot shower!!! It felt like late fall, early winter. Well, I am just tired of the heat. Just remember that what happens on the Forum, stays on the Forum!!!

LOVE IT!!!! My lips (and fingers) are sealed!!!

I just got off of the phone with my sister and she said my niece did great with her first infusion. They gave her an extremely strong dose of steroids before the remicaide to hopefully help reduce the inflammation even faster. Now we just have to wait a couple of days to make sure she doesn't have any allergic reactions to either of them.

YAY what awesome news!!!

That depends on what your fixing for dinner this weekend!!

ohhh looky here we have blackmail - tee hee, and the plot thickens some more (as they say in the old mystery novels)...

She is working on a book about it with her therapist that she can read to the class. Her teacher last year was great and went out of her way to accommodate my niece. My sister has heard some bad things about her new teacher for this year but things seem to be working out so far. I'm guessing that it helps that the new teacher has arthritis in her knees too.

That is great that she is doing that, I hope her teacher works out as the one did last year, maybe she heard some incorrect information and it will turn out OK with the teacher after-all.

hahahahahah.. Yeah Seawaters!! what you fixing up for us

And a partner joins in the blackmail... will the horror never end!!!! HA, HA, HA too funny you all!!!

I have two things to fix: rich, rich, rich Portabello Mushroom Lasagna and Xmas' Italian Casserole; you know the one he posted recently in August.

Ahhhh, and the offer is laid out....

Do I need to send the jet???

Terms are being negotiated!!!! How will the story end find out in the next episode of Christmas Countdown and the dinner blackmail!!!! Teee hee!!!!

Sunshine today, and got some good news this morning ... otherwise, my life is too uninteresting to report on.

Hey MC, sunshine is one of life's interesting things MC so you do have an otherwise interesting life!!! See!!!

Yes CM3, I too wish that Ivy ligament heals w/o surgery and the Wishie stays healthy. Hope that you start to feel better too.

How much is me being quiet worth?

Hmmmm...
You have been handing out great prizes lately. cheesy

And the plot continues to stir as hostage (or should I say dinner) negotiations are ironed out!!!!

Nancy's parents are still under the weather, so we are still trying to step up to the plate and help them. We appreciate the continued prayers and kind thoughts!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

They will be, hope things are looking better.

Good morning MMC,

Doing my usual Wednesday relaxing before I go to hel...errr...I mean work

HA, HA, HA - THAT WAS TOO FUNNY!!!!

minta I have to agree with you there.

I am so ready for the season to be here and it is upon us. I am seeing more decorations coming out on store shelves and I want to buy ONE of each thing but that would not be wise. LOL.

I think I am coming down with a nasty lil cold bug. Sneezing my face off and my head feels like it is stuffed with wet cottonballs. ACK!!!!

My DH is ready for us to put up our Christmas deco already and I had to get a lil gruff and tell him NOT until midnight on October 31. He did the puppy eyes look and stalked off like a 3 year old who got told no cookies til after dinner. LOL. If it were up to me I would leave it up year around but I am already the lady of the neighborhood who puts her stuff out EARLY. I already have my halloween stuff up LOL. I just have to get some more lights....

Hope you don't get sick.... You two sound so cute together!!! I love it, I totally feel for your husband though, can't you let him do just a "wee" (as Shellie says) little bit????

Afternoon all! So its pinesday! I wont be making it. Don't cry its ok. Not feeling well today.

Hope you are feeling better...

We bought our fall arrangement to hang on the door this weekend. It's nice walking out and seeing that - fall has officially arrived in the Sunshine household. Bring on all things pumpkin, leafy and cool!

YAY!!! I love the Sunshine house!!!!

Uh oh, are we safe with that unsupervised camel, what "special" things does he have in store for us tomorrow? cheesy

A big welcome home celebration for gabulldawg, maybe??

Yes, Sidney came home ...

I'm glad he's back home safe and sound, and hope he'll mend soon from his adventure.

I must confess I do not even have a Facebook account, nope, I really don't "get into" that and I also have never went on Twitter, this is the only site I really go to for "inter-action".

Me too! This is my online "hometown."

I haven't ever listened to these I am going to have to - thanks for posting it.

The Merry Podcasts are like a Christmas magazine, but audio. Try 'em, you'll like 'em!

Are you going to post the reciepe???

I think this is the recipe.

Wow I still have like 20 more pages and all of today... I think I need a hot cider break (even though it feels like August out there... 81 hazy/hot/humid!!!! - ugh... and fuzzybutts!!! When will Autumn weather get here.....

Welcome home, Dawg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on the future Dawg, Jr.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!!! I passed 5,000 posts I am like up to 5,070 something!!! Holy Caboos'ers!!! I must "chat" a lot!!!!

xmas365: I am so glad that Sidney showed up!

Christmasstar: Have a fun trip! Where you used to eagle watch sounds amazing - it is something I would like to do!

Good afternoon, Christmas family!

Spent the day out - according to the weather forecasts for the coming week, today is supposed to be the nicest day so I did a lot of errand running. Stopped off at a local thrift store and they are putting out their Christmas goods on the 8th - I will be the first in line!

I also managed to get a trip in to the local orchard. Hand-picked a bag of utility apples and tomorrow, after my pickled pepper canning session, I am going to make either applesauce or apple butter - maybe both.

Have a Merry Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MEGA POST # 3

Britt - I don't know if I ever congratulated you on your new job !! How ironic that you get a job and then another offer comes in !

Thank you so much!! I know!!!!! Gr hahaha.. I am regretting saying no now...

Hey Guys! I got home at 2 am local time(est) and the first thing I noticed when I got off the plane was that my good friend From massechusetts who I have not seen in years showed up he is a dean of history at a set of colleges in Amherst. We have so little in common especially politically but when we are together I can talk to him forever because he is so smart and I ask alot of questions. Brandi of course is very pregnant now,I could not wait until I got back to find out the gender and it's a boy! Thanks again everyone who kept me company and left me notes of en couragement while I was away, some days were hard like when I found out my little dog I have had for 10 years died, pookie was a dashound who was my baby girl...and I have to tell you it has hit me hard again being in the house and not having her lick my face when I got home, but I know she is in a better place now! I hope everyone will have a great day!

Yay, for getting home safe & sound!! Also congratulations on your mini me! do you and Brandi have any names picked out yet? How exciting!! Sorry bout pookie.

Good morning, friends!
Happy Tuesday!
It's going to be another hot day today, high of 99. Send some Fall my way, please!
I went to Walmart last night to pick up a few things, and saw that they were starting to put out a little Christmas in the lawn & garden area
Mostly Christmas trees & outdoor decorations. I saw a polar bear & thought of CM3!! It was so cute.
Well, hope everyone has a great day!!

Heck yes you did! hahaha AWE a polar bear.. Def reminds me of CM3 too!

Good morning,

Yes, Sidney came home, at about 5:45am JP was crying about Sid missing, when he looked out the window and saw Sid was sitting on the AC meowing to come in, my boys were so happy. It was tough going to bed last night, as I was getting ready for bed, I heard a horrible cat fight in the back yard, my wife and I ran out there to see if it was our Sid or neighbor cats, we looked for 20 minutes and nothing. It was after 11pm at that point. When I let Sid in this morning, he was bloody and hungry,so I am sure it was him I heard getting beaten up, he is passed out under my bed now. But we are all relieved he is home, one of the sweetest moments was when his sister/litter mate Ophelia saw he was home she went up to him and licked him and nuzzled him, she was watching the door all night last night, and Alex (another cat) was crying all night looking for him.

Very glad Sidney is home!! Hopefully he is a-ok:)

My husband and I went to the produce stand yesterday evening to get some corn shocks. We've had so much rain here that none of the corn shocks would stand up; we had to wire them to the porch columns and the flagpole. Hopefully it will rain itself out before Saturday, because I promised Mom that I would take her to Baugher's for lunch, and to buy some pumpkins.

PUMPKINS!.. this reminded me I want to carve pumpkins hahaha

Good afternoon, everyone!

I had a bit of a busy morning. First, the fire alarm in the apartment went off last night at 2:30 AM. We all had to exit the building. We think someone pulled it because there was no fire or smoke and we were allowed back in about 2 minutes after the fire department arrived.

This morning, I had to fax some information in regards to a possible job. Still waiting for total confirmation, but it looks good. Also, I made Kim some breakfast. She's been frustrated searching for a job, too. We both have two degrees (I also have a diploma), but no full-time job. Impressive how the world works, isn't it?
Not much else to say. Looking forward to taking over the count tomorrow for a few days. I enjoyed doing it last year, and I'm glad to be back to do it again this year. It will be nice to return to the 'Pines - although Carl doesn't let me sit in Crown's chair. He always gives me the evil eye and tongue when I try to do that.

Have a wonderful Tuesday, everyone!!

Hopefully, You and Kim find jobs soon!! The world works in mysterious ways, and its for sure working that way for you two! Hopefully some employers clear their minds and see two very elligible candidates for jobs soon (hint hint.. you and kim hahahha)!!!!:???:

OUCH!!! It wasn't broken was it?

Nope!! It was and still is Very bruised.. and My whole arm felt like it had a toothache ahha

THanks!! and I know what you mean,I have family I would never ever discuss stuff like that, but funny enough I have friends who we all discuss politics with and we remain respectful but we can debate,I have never had one offend me or make me mad..same as with my friend who is visiting now from Mass...I joke around with him constantly about his views luckily he has a sence of humor. Now there are some friends who can't take it and I understand that and we won't talk about it,but my dad has always said never talk about those 2 things too!

Pretty sure my Grandparents think talking about politics is the biggest sin ever hahah. Growing up they told me to steer clear of politics and Religion conversations with ANYONE.... I have been witness to some great debates between them and my mom/ aunts.. and it's quite entertaining.. I was later told by my dear mother to never talk about politics with my grandparents *especially* hahaha.... They are also VERY secretive about who they vote for etc.. Sometimes, being the angel that I am.. tries to spice up dinner convos by saying what political party I vote for hahaha.. im bad. what can I say.

Now to be very honest with myself and you all. I am not one that is able to debate politics... For some reason I get heated. Perhaps it has to do with my background cheesy

OMG!!! I passed 5,000 posts I am like up to 5,070 something!!! Holy Caboos'ers!!! I must "chat" a lot!!!!

Congrats!

I also managed to get a trip in to the local orchard. Hand-picked a bag of utility apples and tomorrow, after my pickled pepper canning session, I am going to make either applesauce or apple butter - maybe both.

Have a Merry Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

..This might be a silly question. But what is Apple Butter..?

THIS JUST IN.. IT'S RAINING CATS AND DOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok.. maybe puppies and kitties..but Regardless it is WET AND COLD out. my oh my.
My hydro bill is going to hate me, but the heaters have been cranked often lately!

Well last night at work was rather interesting! the Exhaust system stopped working, so the whole store filled up with smoke.. and it took district management almost 2 hours to figure out that it wasn't safe for me and my co-workers to be there. DUR.
I was the Manager on duty last night, but unfortunately with that title i do not have any real store power.. One of my co-workers has a history of asthmatic type episodes, she's had to be on a nebulizer before, etc. Even with that being said, the company still seemed indifferent. Myself & my 2 other co-workers were pretty upset. It wasn't until about my 5th or 6th time calling, they decided we shouldn't be working.
*funny side note, they told me to tell the girl that was having a hard time breathing to stand outside....in the pouring rain*... or to open the doors...

UGH. Frustrating, I did call the company that fixes our stuff, and they couldnt come till this morning, so Hopefully everything is fine for my shift tonight ahhaha.:-D

I cannot believe it I am STILL catching up!!!!

Aww thanks! It doesn't help that I'm stressed over it! LOL.

I hope the posts reveal you got the job!!!! I am in your corner!!!

Hi everyone! Just checking in while camping. Brought my nook to read and turned it on to read and discovered they have free wifi. We are having a really nice family time. Hope everyone is having a nice day!

Woo that is cool!!! You know I should have brought our tablet to Maine they had free WiFi!!! Next year though!!!

Good afternoon everyone! I'm not feeling well at all so I stayed home sick today. I hope you all are doing much better than I am! haha

Hope you feel better

Thanks, made. I need work!

Brent, I'm rooting for you too, hope the job search isn't too long!!!

Come on down! We'll have some sweet tea and boiled peanuts! cheesy

OK, what are boiled peanuts?!?! Do you put a pot on the stove boil water and drop the peanuts in? I know this is a silly question right?!?!

I'd rather have a Diet Pepsi than a Diet Coke, and I don't want ANY regular soft drinks. I've gotten used to the diet stuff, I guess.

I actually do not like either Diet Coke or Pepsi but LOVE Cherry Coke Zero and Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi, Diet Dr. Pepper, Diet Ginger Ale, the list goes on... But, I do not like regular Pepsi and enjoy a regular Coke every now and than... Now the great age old debate... Mayo or Miracle Whip?!?! I prefer Mayo myself!!!

Thanks!! I just got off the phone with my sister and my niece isn't having a very good day. The steroids kept her up all night and then her knees where really swollen this morning. My sister kept her home from school and now she is having an allergic reaction to one of the medicines. Her face is all red and her eyes keep watering. My sister is waiting on the childrens hospital to call her back but the family doctor said it's probably from the steroids since she has reacted to every other one they have given her.

Sorry made, so sorry I hope some light comes into focus for your family soon.

Me, too.
And I prefer diet Pepsi as well.
(Interestingly though, I think regular Coke tastes better than regular Pepsi.)

Tee Hee me too on the regular!!!

Last year's Countdown totaled 16226 posts for the year. At the beginning of this countdown I challenged folks to put us over 20,000 for this year.

We're going to pass that milestone either tonight or early tomorrow.

Last year on September 20th there were roughly 10,300 posts by 9/20 -- that means approximately 40% of our yearly posts on the Countdown 2010 came AFTER 9/20.

If that trend holds, we should end up 2011 with more than 30,000 posts.

Shall we have a prognostication contest to see who can guess how close to what we actually post in this thread for the year?

Jeff

Um.... 33,333

And my wonderful boyfriend brought me flowers to work today today is magnifico!!!!

That is so nice!!!!

I had to leave work early today because I wasn't feeling well. Unfortunately every time I tried to sleep, the dog would bark at who knows what, so I'm still feeling a little under the weather.

In good news, Travis and I have decided to definitely go with the Yorktowne Hotel for our wedding ceremony and reception! We got all the paperwork today and have five days to fill it out. It's very exciting but also a little scary too! Our wedding day will actually be a year from today - September 21, 2012!

Hope you are feeling better.... And I LOVE the wedding news Congrats are picking the place!!!! Now the dress!!!!

MerryCarey makes the best picture of soup. Mmmmmm mmmmm! cheesy

Tee hee - too cute!

This will probably sound sacrilegious to you, but I saw a grocery store selling cans of boiled peanuts up here the other day. cheesy

OK now they come canned, I have to look this up!!!

I forgot to add that I went to the doctor today about my Workman's Comp appointment. He said I need surgery on my shoulder from when I fell in my classroom in March. Oh, the joys of getting older!!! As soon as WC approves it, I will be going under the knife again!!!

Ugh, sorry to hear this... yucky but I hope it will be a speedy recovery once you get the go ahead.

She was livid with the children's hospital today. It took them 6 hours to call her back and then they told her that she needed to take her in to her family doctor. She told them that would have been nice to know before 5pm and that her family doctor said she needed to call them because he has never received any of the info he has requested from them. She called her family doctor back though and made an appointment for tomorrow morning. She really wants to change rheumatologist but the next closest one that treats children is all the way down in Portland.

So sorry Made, that just is uncalled for.

Hi! I missed out on here yesterday so no Pines for me. I never got a chance to log in at all, very busy day.

My grandson got student of the month which will be presented to him at the PTA meeting tonight. I am excited for him. He is only in kindergarten but it is very exciting to see that he is starting off in school and being one of the first students in his class to get this reward.

YAY!!! how proud you must be - wonderful news!!!

Harlowe seems to be holding her own. Thank you for all of the thoughts & prayers. Please keep them coming, her meds are officially done, but need to wait a few weeks before going back to the vet. I'll let you know what happens after her follow-up appt.!

[/QUOTE]

Keep us posted. Glad to hear the meds are done, but we need to hear she is fully healthy!

..This might be a silly question. But what is Apple Butter..?

A slow-cooked, spicy applesauce that becomes highly concentrated - my dad used to spread it on toast like it was jelly. I'm thinking it would make a good cake/cheesecake topping/filling.

baking bread, but I do not think it is going to turn out very good. My machine decicde to pop a clamp ring on one of my paddles so I had to stop it and fix it, loosing some of the ingrediants. Then I decided I should take it out of the machine and bake it in a pan instead, only did not realise it started baking already and burned my fingers. Well, now it is in the oven baking, so we will see what happens.

Sounds great! Enjoy your trip!

Brandi of course is very pregnant now,I could not wait until I got back to find out the gender and it's a boy! it's so good to be home I have not been to sleep yet and I will try to stay awake all day..brandi is getting ready for work, the schools here are out thursday and friday for fall break so we will have a long long weekend before we both go back on monday!

So glad you made a safe trip home! Congrats to you and Brandi! What exciting news! You'll love being a father! Sorry to hear about your dog. It's always hard to lose a pet.

Glad your first night back went well!! And what a wonderful sister you have! Hope you had a nice dinner :)

Thanks, but last night was HORRIBLE. I got four new admissions in. Which is busy. Everytime I felt like I was getting caught up, something else happened. Hopefully tonight will be better!

Yes, Sidney came home, at about 5:45am

So glad to hear Sidney came home! I love the name too! Hopefully his wounds heal up quickly! Now if Sid would just come back to the game we would all be HAPPY! :)

Good luck!

Hope you had an awesome time camping, do you bring your golden? We do, she LOVES marshmellows and we have to keep them from her but that nose sure knows how to find them. I think most people feel as you do about staying home, I think even stay at home mom's & dad's need that away time too, my one friend said it kept her sane - by the end of the day she didn't want to see or hear any talking dinos or alien type thingys or turtles, she needed a little time away from it even if it was only once a week.

Thanks! We did have a wonderful time! Yes, we take Ella! She loves it! The one time we took her, we couldn't find her and found that she had broke off the run we had her on and she was swimming out in the middle of the lake! She just loves camping and the food!

OMG!!! I passed 5,000 posts I am like up to 5,070 something!!! Holy Caboos'ers!!! I must "chat" a lot!!!!

Congrats!!!

mmm that sounds SO good!!

Gabulldawg, I just glanced at your post earlier and re-reading it I wanted to say congratulations on your baby boy.

I am also so very sorry about your dog. It is so hard to lose a furry friend. =(

Yet again I have not read everything. Busy busy day! Soon as everything slows down I will try and catch up.

Have a great day all!
