The grandchildren are here so I need to tend to them.

Did I ever mention that being able to watch my grandchildren as my full time job is very rewarding? My daughter and son-in-law has mentioned they could enroll them in daycare if it is too much for me but I am so happy to get to spend the time with them and watch them grow! I love it and honored to have this job! The kids love being here too, we have a lot of fun! I also have my part time job too at the feed store. The hours are perfect in both areas!

I didn't have time to catch up on the post so I will try to check back later. You all have a Merry Day!

Good morning everyone!

Normally, I would be (happily) teaching at this time, but I didn't receive a call to supply today. Oh well. Having a day off isn't bad, especially when my dad is visiting for the next couple days. No plans for the day. We're nearly finished our Christmas decorating in the apartment. We just need to make a few purchased. I think this morning will be spent with a little bit of shopping.

At least all this shopping will give me the opportunity to take some photos of Christmas decorations in the mall. I haven't been in more than a month, so it will be very exciting to see!

Well, time to get ready and head out in a bit. Have a great Thursday, everyone. It's the Christmas Season. Let's continue to enjoy it to the fullest!

Merry Christmas!

Happy Thursday my Chistmas friends!!

Last night I was at Kohls and they were playing Christmas music...I loved singing along while I shopped!

Also my facebook friend put up pics of her outside all decorated for Christmas..the lights looked beautiful!

Only 40 days away!!

Have a great day!

I just wanted to say that I can't believe how fast this year has gone by!

It's almost here!!!:sparkle:

Right you are, Zack! Welcome to the Countdown thread! cheesy
:welcome:

Good morning!
I am heading out as soon as I finish my cup of coffee. I straightened up the house, started laundry, walked the dogs and got dinner started in the slow cooker so far. So now I can get out of here for a little while and try to do some Christmas shopping. I feel like I am really behind this year. I am going to try and do a little something every day, either online or in the stores. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!

Good luck & Have fun Christmas shopping!!

My granddaughter and I just got back from the mall and met the REAL SANTA (a real white beard too)! He was not too busy since we know that the kids don't start really visiting him this early so we had a nice long conversation. He is not there for a job just to make extra money playing Santa, he is like all of us here at MMC who loves Christmas year round. He had a really sharp looking Santa suit that I wish I could have taken a picture of him with my camera but they are in the business to sell photos which I understand. I am waiting until I get the 3 grandchildren together before I pay to have it done. That is the first mall Santa I have met that is really good for the role! I felt we could have talked for hours and hours but after about nearly 20 minutes or so some kids showed up so we on. I invited him to MMC and I hope he will join us soon. He had some really wonderful stories to tell and I will wait for him to share them here with us. One of them will be about his Alaskan Cruise he plans to take to visit North Pole, Alaska.

We had a great day looking at all the decorations at the mall and of course, our visit with Santa!!!

WOW! Sounds like a GREAT day!! How fun!

Well, I don't know if I am a Hallmark addict, but I am a Christmas addict and I love to watch anything Christmas. If I could stay awake 24-7, I would be watching Christmas TV all the time! I am mainly watching Hallmark now, since there really isn't too much more on right now! :)

Isn't that a bummer that we need sleep???

I found more Christmas tissues today! I love the Santa box!!!
(Please excuse the house that's under construction and the nosy cat)

I bought ONE box of Chrismtas tissues on Tuesday! LOL! Those are so cute! Your cat is too funny!!!

my eldest informed me that I need an outing so she is going to take me somewhere, not saying where, just that I will love it and it will be sure to bring the spirit of Christmas back. So now she has me curious as to where we are going. We both have Saturday off so that is the day we are going...somewhere.

That's so awesome CS! I hope you girls have a WONDERFUL day!!!

I was in a lousy mood after work, so we went out for a burger … then went to the Building 19 before they go out of business (but nothing was left except junk). The Building 19 was so dismal that Mr. suggested going to the Christmas Tree Shop so we could get a cheerier bargain-shopping vibe. I got two Christmas mugs. (I've got about five or six now. If I had the space to display them, I'd start a collection.) Really enjoyed shopping there---Christmas stuff everywhere now, of course! It was a great pick-me-up.

I'm off from work tomorrow, but I have to get up early so be ready when the tree guys come to take down the tree that we found out is rotten inside. I've been anxious to get that taken care of before a winter storm causes it to fall on the house, cars, and/or neighbor's house. It'll be a long, noisy, expensive day, but it'll be worth it to get that load off my mind.

It took me quite a while to get through all the posts after work. Seeing all the Christmas camaraderie here does my soul good. I hope you folks know I love you all.

I hope you are feeling better today! Enjoy your day off work!!!

I can't do this tonight, you are going to think I have lost my mind, it does feel like it and maybe I have, but I do not feel like celebrating. It has been one thing after another the last few months and now this scare with my friend seems to have just knocked the spirit right out of me.
I am going through the motions but the excitement seems to be eluding me.
Has anyone else felt this way?
I am going to bed, sorry guys.

Praying for you and thinking of you, Star. Keep coming here, as I know you will be able to find the spirit again.

Two Schnoodles that belonged to my Father-in-law who passed away on September 5th. He had FIVE of them...

That's so great of you to take care of two of them! Congrats on becoming a dog owner and lover!

No matter what, we keep moving...keep persevering, keep celebrating...It will be a tough year for my wife this year but she wants to do it up right, lights, trees, the whole thing...Perhaps in honor of her Dad.

I will be thinking of you and your wife this holiday season. The holidays, especially the first one is always the hardest. I lost both of paternal grandparents at Christmas. My grandfather, only when I was 3, so I don't really have memory of him, but my grandmother when I was 15 or so. My grandfather two days after Christmas and my grandmother on Christmas Eve. It's still very hard on my father. I think it has got easier, especially now that he has grandchildren to celebrate with.

Let's all have a good thought for Jeff and his family, in particular his Mom who has been struggling health-wise of late...

Continuing to pray Jeff, his mom, and the entire family.

Good Morning All!

I just got to work...I was in court this morning (as a witness). My case was fairly insignificant (somebody stole a car battery), so I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time. But can I tell you, I was shocked at how many 20-somethings were there for having shoplifted useless items from places like CVS and Rite-Aid. Don't these young people understand that this goes on their record, and when they apply for a job they will be obligated to state that they have been arrested? Honest to goodness, you would think that with everything else the schools teach these days, they would have the kindness to have someone tell the kids "Hey, don't shoplift...you'll have to tell your future employers for the rest of your lives that you got caught." I know that ideally parents should do this, but obviously a lot of them are falling down on the job. I could understand stealing food....times are bad right now. But the junk these young people took? Useless! I was so sorry for them...they couldn't think it through before they did it, and now their lives are messed up for some useless thing that they didn't even need.
