You too snowflake!!!!!

They're now taking down the half-dead tree … it'll be a relief to get it away from the house. The noise isn't so bad.

Turns out the tree service doing the work was featured in a National Geographic Channel reality show about their tree removal work. There's no camera crew out there today, though!

I hope the tree comes down quickly & without incident!! Then you enjoy the rest of your day!!!

Good morning friends. I am at home with a sick kid and a sick dog. My son is going to the doc today and I'm worried he has strep.

Happy is having tummy issues and has no energy. Poor guys.

I hope you all have a great day!

Hope they both recover quickly!!!!

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's cold down in the south today! It was in the 20's last night...but it'll be nearly 80 by Sunday afternoon...WOW!

The concert last night was GREAT! His preference in music is a little different than mine, but there's no denying that Joe Bonamasa is one of the greatest guitar players alive today.

Glad you had a great time last night!!!!

I hope y'all have a great day!

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be warmer here today with a high in the mid 40's. It looks like we will be back up into the 60's this week and then round 2 of the cold will arrive by next Tuesday. Not much going on here today. Just need to get back to all of the stuff that I told myself that I was going to do yesterday and then didn't do. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have the same weather forcasted again! Talk about people getting sick/colds! Geesh!

I forgot to mention but as I was talking to Santa my granddaughter said to him, "Santa, my grandma saw you on her cruise". I started laughing and had to explain to him. (You know, when I saw the guy dressed as Santa on Halloween night on our cruise?) He then said, "Yes, that was me"! It was funny!

Too cute!!!!!

Good morning!
I am heading out as soon as I finish my cup of coffee. I straightened up the house, started laundry, walked the dogs and got dinner started in the slow cooker so far. So now I can get out of here for a little while and try to do some Christmas shopping. I feel like I am really behind this year. I am going to try and do a little something every day, either online or in the stores. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!

Have a great day HMG! Have fun shopping!

The grandchildren are here so I need to tend to them.

Did I ever mention that being able to watch my grandchildren as my full time job is very rewarding? My daughter and son-in-law has mentioned they could enroll them in daycare if it is too much for me but I am so happy to get to spend the time with them and watch them grow! I love it and honored to have this job! The kids love being here too, we have a lot of fun! I also have my part time job too at the feed store. The hours are perfect in both areas!

I didn't have time to catch up on the post so I will try to check back later. You all have a Merry Day!

That sounds like a win win for everybody!!!!! Enjoy them!!!

Hey Festive!

It has been going well, but I work all week so it is on hold again until the weekend =]

How about you? How are things?

Things are good, thanks. I am just wrapping up some DIY and deep cleaning this week so the house is ready for decorating. Been clearing out a lot of junk etc. Have a good week at work!

You have your hands full then! Praying that Happy and your son make a full recovery very soon!

I have a long way to go with the shopping too Festive Spirit. Being so busy with the family and trying to keep up with the household has not left me a lot of time to be by myself to get some shopping done!
Have fun decorating, I hope you have a great day!

I can relate. I keep saying I'll stay up late after everyone is down so I can do some online shopping. But it's the last thing I want to do after a hectic day!

Yes, that is a great idea, do a little a day....a lot less pressure! That has motivated me.

I just wanted to say that I can't believe how fast this year has gone by!

It's almost here!!!:sparkle:

Hi , I agree I can not get my head round the fact that we are here at this point! Where has this year gone. I hope the last few weeks till Christmas can go by in slow motion though!

Good Morning All!

I just got to work...I was in court this morning (as a witness). My case was fairly insignificant (somebody stole a car battery), so I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time. But can I tell you, I was shocked at how many 20-somethings were there for having shoplifted useless items from places like CVS and Rite-Aid. Don't these young people understand that this goes on their record, and when they apply for a job they will be obligated to state that they have been arrested? Honest to goodness, you would think that with everything else the schools teach these days, they would have the kindness to have someone tell the kids "Hey, don't shoplift...you'll have to tell your future employers for the rest of your lives that you got caught." I know that ideally parents should do this, but obviously a lot of them are falling down on the job. I could understand stealing food....times are bad right now. But the junk these young people took? Useless! I was so sorry for them...they couldn't think it through before they did it, and now their lives are messed up for some useless thing that they didn't even need.

It really is very unfortunate that some can be easily lead astray. Like you mentioned , it's tragic that they don't for see how this will affect them in the future.

Stay well while you're looking after them … I hope they're on the mend soon.

I'm a details person, but I've never noticed getting the same card two years in a row. I'm just glad to get a card. I wouldn't mind if it was the same one. I've been using the same huge roll of Christmas wrapping paper for years. I could mix it up, but I need order!

Good point! We're working on wrapping paper from last year, too, but that doesn't bother me. I wouldn't expect anyone to remember wrapping paper, but if they're a card-saver, they might remember the card.

Kids are so sharp! She's a bright little thing!

I don't know if anyone already mentioned this since I have not finished reading the post but I have bought boxes of Christmas cards at thrift stores before that have been opened but of course not written in. You are able to donate unused cards at thrift stores and probably Goodwill. I have seen them in Ziploc baggies too for sale and bought them. If they are in good shape and if they are not in a box you can donate them in a Ziploc baggie.

You could also get involved in some Christmas card exchange with the military or some other organization. Just a thought!

Thanks for the good advice!

In years to come, it's great that they will remember having great times with you instead of being at daycare.

Last night I was at Kohls and they were playing Christmas music...I loved singing along while I shopped!

They were playing it at the Christmas Tree Shop, too---I'm too shy to sing along, but it was hard to keep from doing it! I was also thinking, as some of the songs played, "I have that one … I have that one too!"

HAPPY CHRISTMAS SEASON 2013

I would have loved to hang out with You guys and do the countdown...but I was too tired....lol.....Kandice is sick....so we are home today....which means to cheer herself and myself up.....we will start decorating the house!!!!

Hope she is starting to feel better.

The scary tree is now just a pile of wood, and a friend of ours will be taking that away in a few days. I was surprised at how quickly they took it down---less than an hour and a half! Well, my lunch is overdue, so I'm going to take care of that next and pick out some Christmas movies to watch! I feel like I have the sniffles (stuffy nose!), so I may just lie around this afternoon.

My granddaughter and I were just bopping around and dancing to this song while picking up around the house. Michael Buble' sure knows how to jazz up Christmas tunes! We had fun dancing to it.

Okay, I got to get back to do a few more chores!

Good Wednesday morning, and the start of the Christmas Season, my Christmas friends!

I'm sorry I couldn't stay up late enough to see the season start with all of you. I'm such a wimp after 9pm!

Today is our regular trip to dance lessons and guitar lessons. After that, Jacob and I have tickets to see Joe Bonamassa live in Savannah! He's an INCREDIBLE guitar player. Here's a quick link, if you're interested: AWESOME GUITAR PLAYING HERE!

It'll be a late night, but what a cool concert to see!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Hope you guys enjoyed the evening!

Glad you are getting a break from that crazy heat!!!

One of these days, I'm going to take the time to sift through all of the old countdowns to find the special posts and make a thread with all of them.

I would love that!

Good morning!
I just walked the dogs and it's chilly out there. It's in the 20's this morning and we will warm up to temperatures in the mid 30's.
I am heading out to run a few errands. My first stop will be Target. I realized yesterday a couple of the cars are missing snow brushes & ice scrapers. We keep them in each car, I don't understand how they could just disappear. And speaking of things that disappear, I'm also heading to Petco for cat toys. Last stop will be Rite Aid, then back home to catch up with my chores.
I hope everyone is well and has a great day!!!

I also keep a ice scraper in my car, but if you don't have this, you need to pick it up. It's amazing!!! I see different prices for it. I still have my can from last year. My mom actually got it for me for Christmas and I think paid roughly $4-5, but I've seen $5-8, plus they have different oz, but it will last you throughout the winter. You don't have to spray that much. I love it!

Good morning,

First of all, I just want to thank you all for all the kind words you all said about my special post from yesterday, my day was nuts and wasn't able to respond to all of you, but THANK YOU ALL!!!!!

It was a non stop day yesterday, getting the van ready for trade in, grocery shopping, picking up the new car, and of course taking it on a long drive, and on and on... I was exhausted, but I was not going to miss the celebration last night, I always miss the big things here.

But here is what the new vehicle looks like:

This will be my wife and I trying to drive it.
