Good morning everyone

I had a quiet weekend.

We had a appointment with a real estate agent to take a look at the flat. Very beautiful house close to a very large forest and a little stream. The location doesn't agree with my mums workplace and finding a new job closer by isn't possible.

On the other hand the current owner needs to sell the flat very fast (they apparently need the money) and my grandparents aren't able to get the money that fast. They have to sell their second flat first. They (my grandparents) also wanted my cousine to take a look at the flat (as she is also a real estate agent). She is on holiday for the next two week and the current owner (and their real estate agent) don't want to wait that long.

Anyway it was a good experience for us. My grandparents finally told us the real reason behind their rushing into this.

Currently my sister and me still live together with our parents. In the next couple years (say 1-3 years), once we have saved enough money, we will move out. My grandparents are worried that my parents will not be able to afford our flat then. Fortunately my parents were able to reassure them. Sure we are by far not rich, but both of my parents have good jobs and the job security here is much better than in other countries. Besides renting is less risky than buying.

I love my grandparents but this is just one of those moment were I have to tell myself, that they are coming from a completely different lifestyle and raising. They both were children during the second world war (although very very young) and my grandmother grow up without a father. So money was always very thight.

Yes, I do have that problem! I love ebooks, but its easy to buy one or two here and there, and before I know it, the cost has added up.

Who are your favorite authors? Good luck on the flat tomorrow.

I mostly read CBA books. My absolute favourite authors are: Ronie Kendig, Dee Henderson, Irene Hannon, Lynette Eason, Robin Caroll, Chuck Holton, Sarah Sundin.
Non CBA authors: Suzanne Brockmann, Susan Elizabeth Philipps, Ken Follett, Roxanne St. Claire

Cetacea- Hope you like the flat!!

We liked the flat. Unfortunately they need to sell it very soon and my grandparents won't be able to get the money that quickly. Besides my mum is a nurse in a nursing home and has very irregular hours (has 2-3 hours lunch time for example). She wouln't be able to go home over lunch and there aren't any rooms for her to stay at the nursing home.

I just bought a tablet a few months ago and I have yet to purchase any books. I am afraid that it won't be the same as actually holding the book and become consumed in it. I am an avid reader and I have been since I was a child. I am not sure if I could switch to the e-reading thing! Good luck with the flat and I hope your headache goes away!!

The ebook reader (I have one from sony) have a special display, which looks just like a book cover (not enlighted). Therefore reading with it is like reading a book. I still like the old fashioned books, but I love the possibility I have with the ebook reader.

Cetacea, who are your favorite authors? I have tons of books on both my readers; I have a Nook and I have my iPad that holds both Nook books and Kindle books. Meceka is an avid reader, too, so she might give you some good ideas. I love mystery, thriller, paranormal, and romance books. Like you, I typically buy books by my favorite authors automatically and quickly had over 700 books on the Nook alone (many were free)! Right now I am reading an older book called The Restorer by Amanda Stevens. It is one book of a trilogy.

I am so glad that you all might be buying a flat. I remember your talking about the problem last year. Be sure and take pictures!!!

I mostly read CBA books. My absolute favourite authors are: Ronie Kendig, Dee Henderson, Irene Hannon, Lynette Eason, Robin Caroll, Chuck Holton, Sarah Sundin.
Non CBA authors: Suzanne Brockmann, Susan Elizabeth Philipps, Ken Follett, Roxanne St. Claire

I usually read military suspense and suspense romance. I also love non-fictional and history.

We live in a rented flat that we like very much. We don't need to buy a flat, renting is less risky.

We decided now, that we take it easy. If we find a flat that fits all our needs, we might buy it.

Well I can officially say that I have finished shopping for one person on my Christmas list. I just ordered all 8 seasons of Full House for my niece in Seattle off of amazon. She has been obsessed with it on tv here lately and keeps complaining because they show the same one's over and over. So now she will be set.

My sister loves full house. Unfortunately there are only four seasons out in German. My sister doesn't understand English, therefore we can't buy the english version.

I'm a huge fan of the late Vince Flynn. I also like Robert Crais, Loren Estleman, Robert Parker, and other mystery authors. And, because there's apparently an 85 year old man who lives inside of me, I read a lot of westerns. I also read quite a bit of nonfiction.

Who are your favorites?

One of my favourite authors (Ronie Kendig) loves Vince Flynn books. She recommend them to all her readers. I will look into his books soon.

I have what I call "topic spells", I tend to get interested into a topic and than try to read everything I can get my hands on regarding said topic. For example I might watch a movie about the holocaust and than go on and read every biography of holocaust souvivor I can find.

I like Patterson, Crais, Patricia Cornwell, all the Reacher books, Tami Hoag, Joanne Fluke, Lisa Unger, Gregg Olsen, Kevin O'Brien, Iris Johansen, CJ Box, Linda Fsairstein, JA Jance, Linda Castillo, Lisa Jackson, Jeffery Deaver, John Sanford, Kellerman, Wendy Corsi Staub, Harlan Coben, and a ton of others, LOL

Never heard of any of this authors. But I will check them out.

We share the same last name (bolded author). Kind of funny :-).

Praying for you and your family.

Thank you so much. We think we had a sign from god, that we need to wait and be contend with what we have right now.

we have books in every room of our house, and yes, we keep getting more! But we also from time to time give away books that we have read or no longer wish to keep so others can enjoy them.
Hope all goes well the viewing of the flat!

I do that too! If I no one wants book then I bring them to a second hand book house. Everyone can bring books there. They sell the book for very little money.

I love reading. I can certainly understand accumulating too many books on teh Kindle. Not only are they cheaper but it is so convenient and fast. Having said this I will admit I am an old fashioned book lover. So I prefer to go to the library and I like spending any rare free time there. Whenever we take trips to different towns you will always find me checking out the book shops! I love mystery, thrillers, fantasy, drama, the classics, and American southern gothic to name a few. Patricia Cornwell is one of my top favourites. If you are into mystery/thriller then you should check out Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn and Before You Go To Sleep by S.J. Watson.....both amazing! The latter is being made into a movie by Ridley Scott. ( I am also a film lover). I am always happy to meet a fellow book lover.....what are you into?

Good luck house hunting, keeping you in my prayers.

Thank you for your book recommendation! I love reading suspense, suspense romance, thriller and mistery. When possible with a military or law enforcement background. I tend to read in the CBA market. What I do not like are paranormal and/or anything with a vampire theme.

Thanks for praying! We appreciate it.

Good morning!
I am on my third cup of coffee already. I need to walk the dogs and get my day started. My 18 year old woke me up with a phone call at about 1:00 in the morning, she got in to a car accident. She wasn't driving, one of her guy friends was. It wasn't her friends fault, the other car went through a stop sign and t-boned his car. Thankfully no one was hurt. I drove down to where it happened to make sure everyone was alright and to take my daughter home. I'm telling you, these teenage years are wearing me out. It's so stressful. I'm at the point where I don't even say hello when they call me, the first words out of my mouth are "Are you alright?"
Anyway, I have to go food shopping today. I'm happy I made it to my butcher yesterday, so that is off my list. I also need to go to the bank and the pet store. Other than that it will be a typical day, I have laundry and some other chores to do.
It is going to be sunny today with a high of 82 degrees. I wish it were a bit cooler but the humidity is gone, so I shouldn't complain.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Thank God nothing happened to your daughter and her friends!

I do have this same problem, with ereaders. I have so many books, more than I can read, but I can get them really cheap, so you said and especially at Christmastime, Christmas books really go on discount or new ones come out and I always have to get those!

Happy to know I am not the only one! Already thought I was crazy. :-)

I'm just getting settled in from an all day shopping fest with my honey bee (I'm the honey do...., I crack myself up!) anyway, we stopped in Yankee Candle and picked up some fall candles (they had all of their Halloween stuff out and I'm going back again with another coupon in hand). We also went to Pier One, Bed Bath and Beyond, Kirklands, Michaels and much, much more... I had a blast!

We also had a nice dinner at the Silver Spring Mining Co and then went out and got an Ice Cream. I'm stuffed and worn out from a long day... I think it's movie time and the couch~

Sounds like you had a great day!

Beautiful day in Niagara Falls.

Ah, I love the niagara falls! I was there last summer. Still remember the walk along the falls. Such a great place!

I usually like the books I read, but I only keep books I absolutely love - there aren't that many of those considering how many books I have actually read. Quite close to a hundred read this year alone.

Yeah, I should have written love instead of like.

just watching a documentary about the "Drittes Reich"....it shows plenty videos......horrible....it always gives me an almost numb feeling....horrible....even tho I know what happened....it still always shocks me terribly

I watched one yesterday afternoon. I understand your feelings. Made me feel sick whatch all those horrible videos.

Good Morning, My Friends!!

And am I feeling good!
My clever niece has solved my nasty computer/modem problems and increased my internet speed to boot!
(It takes a youngster to really get these complicated things done right, you know.)

OK!
Back on line and on onward with our ever-dwindling count:
Days to the Season: 93
Days to Christmas Day: 135

Highdy-Ho, good neighbor, and Hark as well!
TWO days remain until we reach yet another Milestone, the 3/4 marker to the Season and the start of our final quarter.
(Makes you want to get an advance on Carl's eggnog blend!)

The humidity?
Oh, yeah. It's here in spades.
The temp?
Not too bad but coupled with the humidity, it makes you want to give a gold medal to whoever invented air conditioning.
Right now, we show 76 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Folks!
(And after reading how close our next Milestone is, I'll bet your Week is off to a Fantabulous start!)
