Christmas Countdown - 2016

Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday!
We just got back from a quick trip to the local garden centre. I browsed the remainder of the decorations and remembered my previous trip there when Christmas was at it's peak. How quickly it all went by.

Sipping a ginger bread latter - I only have a few sachets left and then that will be it till next season I am making beef stew for dinner and then we are watching Antman with the kids.

I meant to tell you, last night we watched Pitch Perfect 2 and the Packers did a cameo appearance. A sing off ! It was funny. I thought of you as I know they are your team! Have you seen it?

Here too. I am glad you are having some leftover Christmas to enjoy! We did a final drive around this evening to see houses with lights and decorations because we know by next weekend they will all be gone....for a few months anyway

Part one is my favourite of the two fims. I walked in on Mr Festive while he was doing the dishes the other day and he was belting out one of the songs. He didn't know I was around Too funny!

Around my neighborhood they will be up a few more weeks still. I think that's more because people are lazy to take them down than in love with Christmas like we are .

Good Afternoon, MMC!!! It's a sunny but cold day here with some flurries predicted for later on. I spent this morning taking down the tree. Now it just looks so bare in here. Oh well. I'll get used to it again in a few days. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!

I'm already thinking about what I can let up & what will be coming down & what snowmen will be going up. Hubby is already rolling his eyes. LOL!!! But I'm not going to think too much about it for another week! Happy New Year Merry!

I sure have the christmas blues here....I miss the twinkling lights and all the decorations around the house...How do you guys feel?

I'm running smack into the PCBs today. Even though the trees and other decs are up here at home, it's rough thinking about taking the trees down next weekend. I will be packing away some other items little by little during the weekend. There are still some lights up in the neighborhood, but it's hard when I think of them going away in the coming days---I'll really miss seeing them on my drives home from work. We're having good weather this weekend, so quite a few outdoor lights will probably disappear by Monday, and trees will start appearing on curbs. It's okay, though---this Christmas has to move out so the next one can start moving in.

Being low on energy from holiday treats and late-late movie nights this week isn't helping, either!

LOL - I know you didn't mean that! I just like to include Ella - I try not to leave Ella out and remind the kids of that often. She needs their love too.

I have that problem - DH is working tonight and works tomorrow night too, and the nights he works, I'll stay up and watch Netflix or the DVR half the night. When he's home, I go to bed when he does and I actually get a decent night of sleep. I truly do have night shift problems with my sleep though!

Morning everybody! What day is this????!!!!! I'm so disoriented especially as all the stores have been open straight through, I don't really have a marker to work from (at least places were closed on Christmas Day!) Today, whatever today happens to be, is completely unplanned - apart from 1/4 to 11 tonight when I'm expected at the train station to pick Bruce up (he headed down to London for New Year, as you do!) I made banana muffins yesterday so today, I think I'll make white chocolate and cranberry cookies, just because I can! I've just discovered Pride and Prejudice on TV (Colin Firth version) which has now decided my course of action for the next couple of hours!!!!!!!!! After that, a very smelly dog will be getting reintroduced to soap and water (occupational hazard of being 6 inches off the ground!!)

Hope Bruce had a great time! Hugs to the smelly pooch! LOL!! Hope you are enjoying your day! Happy New Year!

We're gong to visit my parents this afternoon. And we plan on getting pizza for dinner & watching the Islander game later this evening. That's about it for me.

I'm keeping my tree up till the weekend of Jan 16/17. But I think I put it up later than you.

I got mine up early this year, but the decs didn't get up til later. Still not ready to take it down though.

Good Saturday Morning MMC! Wow the first day of the year was a relaxing one for many of us based on the posts I read. That definitely included me because basically from 4PM-11PM I was actually resting, sitting down, even laying down and just watching some t.v., playing a little video game and hanging out with family. That's the life right there...simple and relaxing. I then went to sleep another 8+ hours which is rare for me as I usually sleep more like 7 but I think my body is really just getting it's full strength up for ya know...Monday and the 5 day weeks that will follow relentlessly for me (at least for 2 months till I start to throw in some 3 day weekends cause I have a ton of vacation days still to use).
Anyway, I hope you all had a great 1st day of 2016 and that your 2nd day turns out just as good!

Enjoy your day & don't mention that M word. LOL

Good morning, everyone!

Looking at the calendar right now is sure difficult, isn't it? Unless, of course, you still celebrate the "12 Days of Christmas..." then, of course, there are still three days remaining. I hope you've all settled into 2016 quite well. My house is all set for the new year. Christmas has left, but we are all excited for it to return in a mere 45 weeks.

Days to the Season: 316
Days to Christmas Day: 358

Boy, I have to hand it to Crown. These can be difficult so early in the Season. We're a ways away from our goal(s), yet we still have so much of the year to enjoy! For now, we have the first weekend of 2016!

I'm trying to not let the blues set in but it's tough. I don't want PCB's to ruin the weekend. But I understand!

Having a fabulous start to my new year! Spent lots of time with friends and enjoyed that yesterday. Husband had a rough night on call so I was up frequently when the pager went off, but we're both off today and can rest up, so that's good! I hope you all have a wonderful day! I'm still celebrating until the 12th day, so our tree and lights are still up. Life has so many wonderful things to look forward to! We can enjoy our time together as we countdown towards this year's season, but think of all the amazing life to be lived between now and then! Let's have a great weekend folks!

Hubby asked if he should take down the outside decs, but then he looked at the forecast & it's supposed to be warmer next weekend. Happy to leave the lights up, but darn the warm weather. He did take the red/green lights out of the patio & replaced them with blue & white for winter. Have a good day Merry. Enjoy!!!
