Christmas Countdown - 2019

Merry Friday!
It’s going to be sunny today with highs near 85 degrees. I have a doctor appointment this morning, just a routine visit. Back home afterward to work on the laundry. My oldest has off today so we’re going to meet up for lunch and we will probably hang out by the pool. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great weekend ahead!!!

HoHoHello, Christmas Chums

'Tis Friday last official vacation day for me until mid-August, I don't work this weekend and return on Monday.

O'Malley cat has me a bit concerned. He hasn't been digesting his food very well since yesterday and this morning I awoke to that uncomfortable fur ball hacking sound. I found dark liquid drips here and there in the bathroom and kitchen floor. Don't think it was from his stomach, but his litter wasn't too unusual. He spent most of yesterday resting and hardly whined at all. He didn't sleep on his bed or mattress just camped out where he could keep an eye on me and a few times next to me on the floor.

He's not the kind of cat you can toss into the cage and take to the VET because he won't let them check his health and I'd hate to have to sedate him just to let them check him out.

He let out a big wild "merawllll" and "merowww" around dinner time yesterday that concerned me, I wonder if he is just having a little tummy or bowel trouble.

I'll keep an eye on him hopefully it was just too much grooming since he returned home or a new moist food he tried.

Finally got the shower diverter valve replaced and it works great. Only took 15 minutes to install.

Went to a closing sale for a store downtown that his been in business since I was a child and I got great deals on a fine set of Pearls, a watch and a few Christmas items.

Going for a drive with my dad today and will check back in later on.

I took Lulu for her surgery this morning, and it broke my heart to leave her crying like that. I was crying on the walk to my truck. The vet just called and said she came through the surgery great, and she can come home at 8AM tomorrow.

I hope y'all have a great CiJ!

Hope all is still going well, Brad! My heart is with you - I would be the same. Continued prayers for Lulu, you, and the entire family!

TGIF, Christmas friends!

I just took Lulu home with a gauze-&-Ace Bandage cast on her leg and a cone around her face. She was flipping out, so I took to cone off, which helped her anxiety. When she sniffed the cast, I told her "no" and she stopped, so maybe she won't chew on it. I took her out to do her business, which was hard for her with a cast on her back leg, but she made it work.

Nancy & Elizabeth are going on a planned trip to the beach this weekend, so I have Lulu care duties to myself. I hope I'm up to the task.

We always put t-shirts around the dogs whenever they have surgeries, instead of the cones. This is mainly when they have surgeries that cover the areas, but it works. It might distract her enough still, that she won't want to pick at the dressing on her knee.

Good morning, friends! Happy Friday! I missed the official "CIJ" yesterday, but my heart was with you all! I had all intention on stopping in here later last night, but boy, one thing after another didn't go as planned. Work was busy, then I came home, had to run DS to guitar lessons and instructor forgot that he had moved his lesson to yesterday, so we had to wait 45 minutes for his lesson to start and once that was over we went to eat and that was a total flop. I came home and was just ready to go to bed. Like I said, I just forgot to check in.

Today, we're taking the kids to see the Lion King and then DH surprised me with an over night trip to the B&B that we love to go. He made dinner reservations for us this evening and made me a massage reservation for the am. He's so wonderful and thoughtful! He was supposed to work today, but switched with someone, so he could spend time with the kids before hand. The kids are super excited, which I am too, especially since I am off the next four days. It's really needed.

The heat is trying to sneak back in. I knew the cooler temperatures were not going to last.

This weekend is shaping up to be relatively relaxing. Not much going on, shopping for a new computer for my wife. Her old Mac is about dead.

The are being resolved ~ thank goodness a contractor was used and not just a roofer! The roof is done and it looks great. The tree is supposed to come down some time today.

4 hour drive with my dad went well; not much conversation, but he got to listen to the 50's and 60's on Sirius - I'm trying to convince him to take my car next time we venture off somewhere, but we'll see. He likes his Toyota Matrix.
