DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 52
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 28

Happy October Week! Look above at our countdowns and you can see plainly and clearly that we have 52 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 28 days to go until November. Our next milestone is in 2 days (which is the day after tomorrow). That day is also known as Wednesday but here this week in this thread it will be known as the “Final Fifty” and that would be to Thanksgiving today. And that will be a big one for sure. It feels like we just were in the Final Fifty to The Bers and yet here we are looking at the one for Thanksgiving coming up on us slowly but surely. And maybe slowly isn’t the word because it seems to have come up on us a bit quicker than I would have expected. Anyway, it’s a new week and it’s an October week so it’s one to enjoy for all fans of Halloween but also us Thanksgiving fans here in this thread because we still have “our” month in front of us and it has not been touched yet. It’s a great time to be in this thread and the Halloween thread as well. These are great times folks. This is what it’s all about. This is the time of year we enjoy the most and look forward to all year long. We have to enjoy each step as much as possible and get the most out of it that we can. Got it? Good I hope so. I know you turkey fans always do and appreciate it all on the journey we’re on together. Have a great October Week!

Yesterday my Dad and I were driving home from picking up some firewood that his friend gave him, and we passed a house whose entire front yard was filled with inflatable Halloween AND Christmas decorations! And the best part was that they had a giant turkey too! It was amazing!

I am enjoying each day and can't believe we are 7 weeks from THE week! I have noticed a lot of inflatables this year, they seem to be a bit smaller than the ones I am used to seeing but so cute and lots for Halloween/Fall/Thanksgiving!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 51
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 27

Happy Spooky October! Our 2 countdowns look as follows: 51 days till Thanksgiving and 27 days till November. Our next milestone is tomorrow folks. It will be the arrival of the “Final Fifty” till Thanksgiving. And of course, believe it or not, that will be our FINAL “Final Fifty” if you get my drift. That should be fun. I hope it will be. But we have today to enjoy folks. Every day is precious. Every Bers day is precious. And every October day? Totally precious. Such a great month even though this isn’t the Halloween thread I have to say I feel like Halloween links to Thanksgiving similarly to how Thanksgiving links to Christmas. It all kind of connects in its own way. Don’t you think so? I do. And it’s always fun to talk about these holidays mixed in together. Being on the road is always fun and we try to drive carefully and not crash. There is a turkey where I work outside. They found a feather of his. He’s always around and I wonder if he’s a fan of this thread and knows I work there. Maybe he’s there looking for me and wants to be in the countdown. Well Mr. Turkey I hope you’re enjoying your Tuesday as well. It’s not time for you yet. It’s the month of horror/spooky. Wait your turn. Have a great Spooky October!

Wow we are on the verge of another big day - the very last "final 50" that we will have in this thread, THIS YEAR. I'm ok with pumping the brakes now. It seems like it is going by too fast.

I'm so glad we still get to have a daily discussion each day, because it helps the time, at least to me, not pass so quickly!

51 days is not very far away. But I found that if you do something intentional every day, that time does not slip away as fast. Every day since September first I have done something that is associated with Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving. Watch a movie. Eat some candy corn. Go out and look at the leaves that have fallen. Watch the sky as the sun sets. Play a seasonal song. Etc. Go to a Fall Festival. But when you do these things, mark them in your head as a seasonal activity. And very soon you'll have done many things and it will make your time in the season more fulfilled and less of just passing you by. Come up with something daily that you can see, touch, experience, or taste. And see if time doesn't slow down a bit for you.

The same goes for the Christmas season. I start on November first for that one.

I definitely have been using this philosophy this bers season more than i have any other time. I really do believe it has given me a glow/postive attitude. As i said before i feel i had one of my best Septembers in quite awhile. Its seems october is heading in that direction too.

I agree and I feel like doing things that I don't do very often can make the time pass more slowly. Sometimes a craft or a puzzle, a new book, etc... so much of my days are routine that I think intentionality and novelty can make the days slow down!

I agree with both you and Rich. I think when we live intentionally, we do enjoy where ever we are!

100% true. Making the "most" of your time helps time slow down some.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 50
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 26

Happy Mid-Week October! We have a major milestone today folks (aren’t they all major though?). And that is very obvious in the countdown above. We have 50 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 26 days to go until November. Our next milestone? It’s the November Home Stretch which will happen in 16 days. We have plenty of time for that milestone obviously. That’s a lot of days. That’s a ton of days. And we all can be patient for that one. It will be hard to even think about approaching November. That’s not something I’m ready for. I’m ready for a good day today though. And yeah we have slammed the brakes here in this thread. That’s the point. But if you ride the brakes all the way then hopefully you don’t have to slam them. I’m not sure how that works with driving skills though. Riding your brakes probably kills them. Imagine if a turkey could drive? I could imagine that. The way some people drive maybe they are turkey’s haha. It’s definitely a good time though to be a turkey fan as we are here in the month of October. We have all the anticipation still in front of us. And we have the enjoyment of a great month of October we’re enjoying so far. And plenty to go. Have a great Mid-Week October!
