It's been my favorite month too and these last few days are going to be great because my Brother in Law and nephew are going to be here harvesting the fields by my house this weekend! I hope to take a ride in the combine and deliver some treats to the field! Happy Harvest and Happy Halloween, could I be any luckier?
I love the smell that comes from harvesting. When the farmer across the road from me cuts his hay, it smells like fall!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 27
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 3

Happy Halloween TGIF! Today we look at our counts folks and see they are dwindling. And one of them is getting so low it’s getting scary (yes pun intended heading into Halloween Weekend shortly). We have 27 days remaining until Thanksgiving. We have 3 days to go until November. Right. So you already know our next milestone is on Monday when we reach the Arrival of November. It will be THE month of Thanksgiving and the month we all wait for in this thread. It will be a special time for sure. And I’m excited, of course, for the big Halloween Weekend ahead of us. I know that I’ve been mixing in a good amount of Halloween here in the Thanksgiving thread here but as I’ve said Halloween is tied to Thanksgiving just like Thanksgiving is tied to Christmas. Very similar in my opinion. Autumn has been so wonderful. It’s so amazing. I love it so much and the month of October is a big reason why. Or maybe it’s the other way around? Anyway, for all of us turkey fans how about some turkey for Halloween? Ok that probably would be like having pizza on Thanksgiving. I don’t think it would fit. Maybe we should try the reverse? Pizza for Halloween and turkey for Thanksgiving? Let’s stick with that maybe. Have a great Halloween TGIF!

Just three more days. I can't wait! I've said it here before, that when November gets here I'm 100% in Christmas mode. Right now I'm probably sitting at 75%. Last night we packed our Christmas Shoe Boxes. Still need to get a few more things for them. And then I listened to Christmas music while I played on my iPad. And now Thanksgiving is less than 4 weeks away. I can almost smell the turkey roasting now. :)

Definitely pizza on Halloween for me, but we can't forget about our pact in this thread to eat pizza on Thanksgiving Eve!

Alright, there was no pact, but I feel like we're all gonna do it anyway.

Enough about pizza; I'm ready for some Thanksgiving food.
I think you just invited us to join a pact to eat pizza on Thanksgiving Eve. I am now part of that pact. Anyone else?

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 26
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 2

Happy Next To Last Day Of October! Today we look at our counts above and see the following statistics: 26 days till Thanksgiving and 2 days till November. Our next milestone? It’s going to be the day after tomorrow folks. Yes, on Monday the milestone of…well one of our remaining 2 counts will END when we reach November. I know that’s hard to comprehend. But it will happen on Monday. For me? I’m a Halloween guy so I’m soaking it all in this weekend. I’m really just enjoying it, having fun, relaxing and being in the Halloween spirit. That’s the way to be isn’t it? And if you’re a fan of turkey, stuffing and everything else (like I am also) then Monday? We’ll think about it when we get there. But the reality of where we are will really hit us then. For us turkey fans and Thanksgiving fans that will be the amazing part. When we somehow enter the month of November. Maybe Thanksgiving doesn’t get a full month like Halloween and Christmas do. But here in this thread? It does. We give it as much time as we can. Actually we give it a full year. That’s why this thread exists. Anyone starting to really get anxious about Thanksgiving coming? I don’t think it will hit me until after Halloween. Have a great Next To Last Day Of October!

We're eating Pizza for dinner tonight!

And yesterday, the color of the trees and the weather, honestly it felt more like Thanksgiving that it did Halloween. I think it was the COLD wind!

Have a great day!

Same here Snake, both on the pizza and the cold winds, the leaves are dropping like crazy, I just hope some of them hold on long enough so we can enjoy their beauty.

I am getting a bit anxious, part is anticipation but part is the possibility that my extended family celebration may be changing days and format. Change is inevitable and usually pretty positive, but different just the same.

Exactly this. My family is shaking up the traditional schedule this year, so I'm a bit anxious about how that will affect things. Maybe I'll enjoy it even more, who knows? That's what I'm hoping for, at least.

My wife's grandmother, who is the matriarch of my wife's side of the family, has said a couple of times already that she thinks this year will be the last "big" family gathering for Thanksgiving. She's in a smaller house now, and some of the extended family have already announced their intention to stay home this year and have their own gathering. Truthfully, it bums me out. I'm not really a people person, but I remember when my wife and I were dating, her side of the family always had these huge gatherings for almost all of the holidays, and I have watched them slowly dwindle over the last 15 years.

I guess it is just time to start something new! New traditions and new gatherings. At least my family and I will have that time together, and that's time well-spent.
