We are supposed to get 6-11 more inches between now and President's Day, but not in any large amounts, which means shoveling but hopefully not a lot at any one time. A perfect week and weekend for comfort food, I need to remember to always keep a turkey breast in the freezer to have on hand for January/February because CW's pictures are particularly appealing tonight!

Does anyone else search for news about Thanksgiving or the Thanksgiving Day Parade throughout the year? No? Just me?

Well anyway, Macy's has a countdown on their parade website to Thanksgiving and the 2021 parade. It's not much at this point, but seeing "2021 parade" made me smile this morning. I just hope by that time it's more of a return to a "normal" parade, even if the crowd and participants are all wearing masks.

Yes. I do. I love getting any info I can. The "feels" overwhelm me when I do find something.

I hope we can have crowds by then. Let's hope people can be at the parade. They should be able to. Fans will be at baseball games this year.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 288
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 264
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 203

Happy Double Digits February! It's the middle of the week folks but not close to the middle of our counts thankfully. Let's look at them this Wednesday morning. We have 288 days till Thanksgiving, 264 days till November, and 203 days till The Bers. Our next milestone will happen on Saturday (I love Saturdays) with the 200 Day Marker to The Bers. After that we hit our first 1's count. Can you imagine that? Well tomorrow we'll be back with a poll like we do every other Thursday. Wonder what it will be? You'll have to tune in to this thread to find out tomorrow. For today I'm just focusing on a day where it actually isn't supposed to snow lol. Yes a whole day without snow :). That will be a treat. I just wish it was warmer. I do notice though that it's light out still at 5:30. That's a small sign of spring ahead. Have a great Double Digits February!

I hope you are right, @Edge612 . I was having this convo yesterday with a buddy at work. I know we're not supposed to talk politics on here, and I won't, but I will say that my concern about what people are allowed to do what, seems to come down to which side their state falls under, which is very sad. I'm lucky that things in Virginia never got crazy, but that being said, I do not see Virginia allowing any big events like what we are used to, until 2022. I get Washington Football Team tickets from my employer every year, and the belief among several of us is that WFT will not be able to have any fans again this year. But whatever this year ends up being, I think the horrible shutdowns / closures like last year will not happen again.

I'm really ready for daylight savings time to end. It is hard waking up in the morning with it still dark outside, and driving to work almost in pitch darkness. Like you said though, it is staying light out past 5:30 now. I'm excited to think that by the end of the month the sun will not start setting until about 6:05, which means we will still have light out at 6:30 / 6:45! And we are still about a month out until Daylight savings time ends. I can't wait!

There were fans at the Lightning / Predators hockey game last night. So that's encouraging. I want the Thanksgiving Parade to be "Normal" this year.

While we're on the subject of the parade, this year will be the 95th annual Macy's Thanksgiving parade. Can you imagine in another five years what the 100th parade will be like? Assuming that Covid is a minor concern by that point, it hopefully will be nothing short of spectacular!

I’ve fallen in love with watching videos of old Thanksgiving Day parades on YouTube throughout the year. It really brings to mind that special, wonderful feeling of Thanksgiving morning!

Those croquettes look very delicious!

Will be almost more special than usual which is hard to get!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 287
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 263
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 202

Happy Wintery February! It's been quite a winter here so far folks. February has been a cold and snowy month. We countdown to other times of the year that aren't quite as wintery thankfully. They are the following counts: 287 days till Thanksgiving, 263 days till November, and 202 days till The Bers. Our next milestone is only in 2 days from now and that will be the 200 Day Marker to The Bers. Who is looking forward to that huge marker? It's going to be a big one. And then our first ever "1s" count this weekend. How much more exciting can it get? Well folks I'm going to give our bi-weekly poll now on Thursdays. Here is today's:
How many turkeys do you cook a year (including Thanksgiving Day)
A.) 1 (only on Thanksgiving!)
B.) 2-3
C.) 4-5
D.) More than 5

For me it's B. We cook 1 on Thanksgiving of course. And then we cook maybe 1 or 2 during the year as an off-season celebration. What about you? Have a great Wintery February!

It's "A" for me. We only cook a full turkey on Thanksgiving Day. I sometimes think about cooking one in the summer, but it's just to hot to heat up the oven that long. Now that I've got a smoker, I can fire that up in the back yard. Maybe this year we'll have turkey more than once.

If you re talking about whole turkeys then B if you include turkey breasts too then c or d.
Whole turkey on Thanksgiving of course but I like to cook a whole turkey for sandwiches on New Years Day or if it falls ons on a Friday or the weekend the I cook it that Sunday of New Years weekend. What better way to go back to work after Christmas then with turkey sandwiches for lunch :)
I will cook a turkey breast 3 to 5 times a year.
