It's funny. I'm sure if you ask me again next year, my answer may be different. I answer these polls while reflecting on how I feel at the moment. Next time, I may feel different. Next time maybe the pictures will be speaking to me the most. Who knows? But what I do know, is that I love this thread and how it makes me feel every day. Joyful! Can I change my vote to C? Or a tie?
Same! It's funny. I'm sure if you ask me again next year, my answer may be different. I answer these polls while reflecting on how I feel at the moment. Next time, I may feel different. The thought of nieces and nephews becoming grandparents blows me away. Heck, I am barely used to the idea myself! I went to a get together with a brother and his family and seeing his kids as parents really hit me that my siblings and I am getting older FAST!My Thanksgiving Thought for today: I am having "extra" extra thoughts-- my eldest sister has added 3 great-grandchildren since last Thanksgiving and I am wondering if one of her daughters will want to break away from the extended family Thanksgiving dinner, we are certainly not centrally located for them. I will understand if they do, especially with my nieces becoming grandmothers, but if they do, we will drop from a group of 45 to about 20. A small enough group to consider hosting in someone's home again, but it would be a big change.
I have football on right now just seeing them talk about the first pre-season game is exciting as a sign of what's to come.My Thanksgiving Thought for today:
Football returns to television tonight. It's just preseason football, and it's arguably the most meaningless game all year in the grand scheme of things (the Hall of Fame Game), but I'm still going to be hunkered down in front of my TV watching. Why? Because it's football! And I love football and the Fall vibes it brings. Somehow football has become largely associated with Thanksgiving in my mind, so you can bet that I'll be imagining the Thanksgiving Day games this week and all of the joy that Thanksgiving brings!
Have a happy Thursday!
Well said! When I ponder Thanksgiving, I always come back to what is core to me: the blessing of being able to spend time with family, the blessing of good food and all the other blessings I have.
I loved seeing football back!Sitting down in front of the TV last night on a Thursday watching Football - there were lots of post-Thanksgiving dinner vibes. And I might be crazy, but everything last night seemed so high definition. I'm not talking about just on my TV. The uniforms seemed so crisp and clean. Even the browns seemed "fancy", I have never liked their team colors they seem so dull and boring to me, but they seemed so sharp last night. Maybe it was just my perception, and the anticipation I had all day long of finally being able to see Football on TV again. The announcer said right before the opening kickoff that it had been 183 days since Football was on TV. The last time was the Super Bowl, which was the very last thing we had leftover from The Bers and Christmas Season. And I always HATE when the Super Bowl is over, because then I am at risk of getting PCB's / PFHB's (Did I say that right?)
But nothing now but good vibes and excitement moving forward! Have a great FRIDAY!
It was awesome to see it on t.v.!What I got to see of last night's preseason game was a lot of fun! I didn't get to watch the whole thing because our antenna (we have an OTA antenna for local channels) started garbling the broadcast about halfway through. I'm not sure if it was the signal from the station itself or if we just didn't have a clear view of the sky, but the entire second half of the game looked all glitchy and at times I couldn't even see what was going on. It frustrated me so much that I justified signing up for the NFL+ streaming service for this season. At $4.99 per month, it's worth it and it's less than a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
