Good Morning, Friends.

Well Folks, things just did NOT go as planned at the beach, to say the least!
We arrived fine Friday evening but about 11:00 PM or so, I began developing stomach pain. This had happed a couple of times before and went away. It didn't this time. I was awake all night long. Early Saturday morning, my sister drove me to the hospital. After about a 3 hour emergency room wait, I was diagnosed with a damaged gall bladder that needed to be removed immediately. That surgery was done Saturday morning and I was released yesterday morning in time for our trip home.
Such is life. At least I won't have to worry about that problem in the future!
The cause? The doctor could not say.
(Not from drinking too much coffee, that's for sure.)

Of course, not everything got done that needed to be so we will likely return the weekend after next which is fine since our first renters do not arrive until June 20.

OK!
Thanks a mint, Minta, for your dependable continuation of our count which as of today is:
Days to the Season: 165
Days to Christmas Day: 207
One week from today! The 200-day Christmas Day window.
(The count sure moves fast when you are gone - even if you're in a hospitall bed!)

Overcast here in Raleigh where rain is possible all week.
We stand at 74 degrees currently.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everyone!

So sorry to hear about your surgery during vacation. I hope you heal quickly!

Wow, what a "vacation," Crown! So sorry to hear that but glad it got taken care of. Rest up and take it easy!

Man, I'm sorry to hear that, Crown. At least the surgery was uneventful and you're home safe and (mostly) sound.

Binger would say that lack of coffee was your problem the whole time! cheesy

Take care!

You are very welcome. I enjoy doing the count down.

Sorry things did not according to plan but at least you know you will not have to deal with that again. Hoping your recovery goes very quickly and your next vacation goes as planned.

At least you returned safely, Crown. Sorry to hear that your trip was not a positively memorable one. Hopefully you can get all the necessary work done in the upcoming weekends. All the best toward a quick and easy recovery!!

Good morning, everyone!

I was real excited this morning when I realized that it was the first of June. However, the fact that we are halfway to December took quite some time to hit me. Wow! Halfway until the season is in full swing! As soon as December hits, everyone is filled with the Christmas Spirit whether they like it or not. I can't wait to see it! Although I am certainly looking forward to enjoying the rest of my summer first!!

Yesterday was a rather nice day. The smoke and smell of burning wood from Quebec forest fires cleared by about mid-afternoon. Our game went well and then we went out for wings afterward and watched some of the hockey game. Great combination! It was especially nice to see the Blackhawks take a 2-0 lead in the Stanley Cup Finals! Game Three on Wednesday should be exciting!!

In Ottawa, it has been raining since last night. The rain is much needed. Grass was already starting to turn brown and yellow. Hopefully this rain will help restore it to a beautiful and plush green. Rain is also possible for the rest of the week. After it being extremely nice for the past few weeks, I can totally accept a week of rain.

I am loving the looks of the count. A week from today until our next milestone? That's fantastic!! The 200 day marker will be quite the accomplishment! And, the halfway to Christmas Day mark is just under three weeks after that! We are moving along nicely! It's nice to see that (almost) everyone had an enjoyable long weekend. Hopefully everyone is getting re-accustomed to their normal weekday surroundings quite well, too. Have a great Tuesday, everyone!!

Today also marks that it is exactly one month until I fly to Prague! Now that should be a good time.

Keep on posting, everyone!! We're on pace for some impressive records!

I know what caused it all, you left here and the withdrawal was something your system could just not handle!
Glad to hear you came through ok and are back here again! cheesy

Very nice!! Vermont is beautiful, especially in September! That should be a very fun trip.

Christmas in June?
I went to the grocery store this morning (we go there a few times a week) and my boys were looking at some stuffed animals and I just happened to look and there where 3 Christmas stuffed toys (a gingerbread man, a red and green dog, and a bear wearing a red and green scarf) it was a nice reminder Christmas is only 6 months away, and the decorations are only 5 months away from going up.

Crown glad you are okay, same thing happened to both my mother-in-law and father-in-law with their gall bladder

It is hard to believe that this year is flying by so quick!!!!!!!!cheesy

Welcome to june everyone!!!!!!!!! I have been out working this morning and now I am home for the rest of the day. I need to do some cleaning and I have some paperwork to get ready to send to my boss. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Judesmama Congrats on your home..I will keep my fingers crossed cheesy

Crown I hope you are feeling better soon!

Thanks for the Halloween and Thanksgiving reminders...time is moving along quite nicely..but never fast enough for me haha! I want it to be about September and then slow down through Christmas!

I won my oldest son 2 Christmas presents off Ebay over the weekend (Thomas the Tank Engine trains) and I got them both brand new in boxes at 50% off what I would pay in the store..I was excited =0) I also found 3 really cute Christmas items at a local Goodwill for less then $5 for all 3 things! It made my day! I have off of work tomorrow and am taking my boys to a really nice family resturant/farm. I hope the weather isnt too hot. Have a nice Tuesday afternoon everyone!

50% off Thomas is a great deal, MsChristmas - they are sooo expensive!! Exciting!

If anyone has a Trader Joe's close by, they have gingerbread coffee for $1.99 for a big canister - it's really good! It's usually $7.99 but they have it marked down... a nice Christmasy touch in the morning! :)

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day! It was a busy weekend for us. My brother graduated from 8th grade on Friday. His party was on Saturday. On Sunday we relaxed and did some shopping. Yesterday we set up for a garage sale that we're having tomorrow.

For me it will be 5 months. I put my Christmas tree up by November 1st or at least sometime during the first week of November. I can't wait! cheesy
