I agree about seeing everyone return. It's good to know that the christmas spirit is starting to build in everyone.

I love it too! I love coming on here everyday and hearing from people who I haven't seen for a while. It puts even more Christmas spirit into me!

Anyone else having problems with MMC running slow today?

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's my Saturday off at Bernie's tomorrow, so I get to cut the grass...yippee! I really don't mind riding the mower, as long as my son runs the string trimmer.

This city water system has kept me away from home till after 10pm every night this week. This is going to STOP. Last night it was 10pm again. Since our town is so small, we don't have a full time office staff. We meet once a month, and we all sort-of take calls as we need to during our regular business days. Since we're not staffed, we've never had internet service, or even a phone, in the City Hall. The problem is, these days you HAVE to answer questionnaires & fill out reports online. I take some of it home to do, but I almost always forget a file and have to go back to City Hall for it. The majority of the paperwork and online reports has to do with the water system, so I'm planning to ramrod the hiring of this contractor.

Sorry about the rant. IT'S FRIDAY! I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Yes! Things go very slow here today!

How 'small' is you town?

Have a GREAT Friday and weekend! =]

Sorry. I tried to get a flight to there on Tuesday but it turns out that the new airline only flies out of here on Mondays.

That is such a bummer! I am sure if we would have let Seawaters know, she could have brought the learjet over and you both could have met me down there!

Not yet, they did a story on the news about it and people were waiting over an hour just to get in the parking lot! We will let the novelty die down a little before we go there now.

That sounds like a good idea. That is always what we do with new resturants, too. Let me know what you think of it.

All the talk on here about Christmas is really getting me into it. I am drinking my coffee out of my Santa mug and I think I may listen to some Christmas music today. I still haven't got to listen to the new podcast either, so I think I'll do that today as well.

What is everyone up to this weekend?:)

Sounds great! ♥
Hope you have a wonderful and Merry day!

Just me and the kids home this weekend.
We are going on a Birthday Party on Sunday to my niece
other than that don't have any plans. =]

Back from the stacking competition in Markham, Ontario!
I am so proud of my son..

Here he is competing in the division finals...

here he is with all his metals....

3rd for the cycle stack
5th for the 3-3 stack
6th for the 3-6-3 stack

Not bad considering he has only been doing this for a few months and this was the first competition he was ever in.

Congrats to your son! Good for him!

Thanks, Solice! I am having a great day so far.

Happy Birthday to your niece. Enjoy your weekend. Sounds lovely! :)

I have to let all my MMC friends know my good news, two years ago I took an engineering exam to specialize in Plumbing engineering and I missed passing it by two points. So, not to be disgruntled, I strived to learn as much as I could over the past two years. This year, when you could take the exam again, I started studying in Feburary, every day at lunch, every evening I would lock myself away in the computer room and study untill 11:00 (basically I put my life on hold). Well, I took the exam again in the middle of April, well I just found out that I passed!!

Congrats to you! Hard work always pays off. Good for you!

thought about sugar this morning. i think her & her family are headed home from here today. hope they all have a safe trip.

Thanks of thinking of me when you were on your own trip! You're so sweet!

Pocono was the first NASCAR race I ever went to. It's even worse in person, you can't see a darn thing! I was sitting just a little past the start/finish line toward the first turn, and there was a wreck in turn 1 and with binoculars I couldn't tell who was in it. You watch them zoom by and wait about a minute to watch them zoom by again.

On another subject, Sheila and I were out in a clothing store today and they were playing Lena Horne's version of "Let It Snow"! Then right after that they played some pop junk. Here we were in a store in June and hearing Let It Snow, pretty cool!:playing:

Great to see you posting and so glad to hear you're feeling better!

Meet me in St Louis with Judy Garland is just finishing up and she is singing "Have yourself a merry little Christmas"
What a nice final song before bed!!

That's so funny...I am listening to Pandora and the version by Ella Fitzgerald, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" is playing right now. Very ironic.

Good afternoon/eveing mmc
Hope all is good away to catch up on the posts

Well my sister just got back from the foot doctor and it turns out she doesn't have a sprained ankle like her family doctor thought. It's actually a cyst on the ankle and she gets to have surgery to have it removed. I guess the surgery isn't to bad though and she can walk on it the same day. The bad part is they couldn't get her in until the 29th for surgery. So guess what I get to do for the next 18 days?

Bummer for your sister. Praying her surgery goes well and that she heals quickly. Good luck with the babysitting! :-D

I have a question for those of you who are home owners......It may sound silly but....I have started looking at small homes and condos with the intention of buying early next year. If any of you are in a condo....Do you miss that you don't get to decorate the whole wide front of a house and yard at Christmas? And for those of you that are in a house...how much enjoyment does decorating your yard bring you? I found some really homey condos I really liked at a good price...but then it dawned on me that I wouldnt get to fully decorate at Christmas(and also that if we got a snowfall that only stuck to the grass, as we so often do around here, that i would miss it because my yard would be a parking lot haha.) I would appreciate all of your opinions..Thanks!

Personally, I love being able to decorate my whole entire house and yard. I had a house as a child too and my dad went all out. We even entered our house into a decorating contest and we would place every year, so I am used to decorating a lot.

I think it just depends on what you're used to. I also love, as you said, watching the snow fall into your yard. Living in Pa, I get a lot of snow usually, so I like watching the snow in my yard. That's how I feel about it, but as I said, that's also what I'm used to. Good luck with your decision!
