A great way to put it, Christmasstar!

great you could pop in for awhile. come when you can, stay as long as you want and know we are glad you did!!

Welcome. As you know, this is our favorite place to be at our favorite time of the year!

WOW!! We're so close and I still have SO MUCH to do!! I've been at a new job so that, combined with my kids, has really monopolized my time. I need to make sure I set aside some time to prepare for the season!

Some of us here in the states celebrated right along with y'all for Canadian Thanksgiving. Hubby and I thouroughly enjoyed our dinner!

Hard to believe our Turkey day long weekend has come and gone already...no more official 'stat holiday' until Xmas!! Good thing I have vacation days planned in Nov to break up this long stretch without a stat holiday.

It was lovely weekend in the country. The leaves are very colorful and a lot have already fallen around my mom's place. It's quite cool this morning. There was even frost on the car and on the ground (4 cel.)...that chilly air does make it feel as if the Xmas season is not too far off. Hard to believe it.

To comemorate the weeks counting down to Xmas season - now 11 weeks away to Xmas, I started playing a Xmas song or two this morning to slowly get into that 'wonderful time of year' feeling.

Happy Turkey day to any fellow Canucks and have a great week!!

Cheers!

ML

Your day sounds perfect, Made. Enjoy!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! We are off to a chilly start here in central Indy where we currently stand at 38 degree's on our way to 62. My long weekend caught up with me last night. I fell asleep about 9:30 on the couch. So after a long nights sleep, I'm ready to go. Now I'm off to watch some qvc with some apple muffins and warm apple cider. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is only slightly chilly this morning, but the temps will rise to the high 80s by this afternoon. I meant to ask earlier: Have we chosen a MOM yet? Also, has anyone "seen" RJD? I think about him often, especially when "coolarity happens"!!! I hope to finish almost, if not all, my copying today! Then I am going to totally relax until we return to school in January after the Christmas Holidays. That will give me time to do a lot of scrapbooking and card-making! Have a great day, everyone! It is off to work I go in a few minutes!

I remember those!!! Where in the heck did you find a graphic for it?
I just googled "images" for it.

I chat with him on Saturday nights when he host The Greasy Skillet Show. (Click on the info below for those who don't know what The Greasy Skillet is).

It would be nice to have him here in the Countdown!!!

Thats nice to hear, you gonna plan anything or just chill out and enjoy the season

I have been lucky to get that week off many times in the past, I treat it as our ultimate family week. Enjoying the season with the people I love more than anything in the world is the best Christmas present I can receive. (Even if the boys drive me bonkers sometimes) cheesy

Sorry I was gone for a couple of weeks. Daily life just keeps getting more and more stressful.

I'm back today (don't know for how long) because I have a some time now. That may change very quickly.

Hope you are all well and have a good time.

Welcome back, hope the stress will subside for you.

Good morning,

Here we are another Tuesday off, just watching QVC, I really wanted something Christmassy to watch today. I have already done my laundry, dishes, ran to the Goodwill Shop bought a book called "All About Christmas, How To Make Your Holiday Festive" by Irena Chalmers it has a lot of recipes, pictures, and Christmas stories, and how to pick out a fresh tree, and so on. I wasn't planning on buying it but I kept thumbing through it and it piqued my interest.

Getting approved for that week off has really taken so much stress off of me, I feel so relieved, and it will be my first real vacation week in 1.5 years. I was off last year at Christmas healing from my surgery, and of course I was out of work for 6 weeks in January & February with my ruptured foot ligament. So I will have a true week off with my family, I am looking forward to it so much now.

I am just going to relax and try to keep warm, it is very chilly here, but holding strong without turning on the heat, don't want to fire up the oil burner until we have to, so it's just the electric fireplace for now.

Enjoy the day! Do something Christmassy!

Woweewingers!!
I love that word, I will have to remember that one!.....
You can thank Carl. He comes up with these words for me.

I look like a monster! A blood vessel broke in my eye and now my eye looks like it's bleeding. What a way to top off my Monday, lol.

I hope it clears up soon.

Sorry I was gone for a couple of weeks. Daily life just keeps getting more and more stressful.

Welcome Back!! I hope things calm down for you soon.

Can I put up my tree now that our Thanksgiving is done?

YES!!!!!!

My 3 year old granddaughter and I watched, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, yesterday. At the part where Snoopy makes the dinner consisting of popcorn, pretzel, jelly beans and toast, she says, "I want to have dinner with them"! I told here we would have that sometime. I do plan to have that for them and watch the show at the same time. Not to worry, that will not be their lunch! It's just a snack after they eat a healthy lunch! cheesy

Can I come over for snack time that day?

The Meep on QVC is something JP would absolutely LOVE! I will have to talk to my wife about that one.

It sounds like it's a pretty nice little tablet and the price isn't bad.

Awww...I hope there is no problem and that maybe she is just detained somehow. But If I were you I would be PLENTY nervous too !! I really hope it all works out for you !!! oxxooxoxo

Thanks, CM3!! We tried to contact her all this past weekend and NOTHING. I have now given her number to my mom and one of my very [b-word] bridesmaids...if anyone can get a response from this woman, it's the 2 of them! I didn't want to have to resort to that but this is about wedding pictures!!!

I live outside of Pittsburgh. You can definitely buy it at Walmart and Target! My mom always picks it up at Walmart for us. Here is what it looks like:

It is the best cough suppressant I have ever used. We swear by it in our house. I used to have asthma really bad as a kid and I still mildly have it now so when I get a cold/cough it gets REALLY bad...my cough sound likes a barking dog lol. It really is great and I hope when you find it that it works for you!

I am planning on running some errands after posting here so I will definitely look this up. While on the whole I am feeling better, the cough is still ever present...and annoying. Hopefully this will help, thanks again!

I check the countdown often, but have never actually registered and posted until today! I'm excited to join in the discussion. This weekend in Oklahoma the high temp is only about 50 or so, so its going to feel like winter! Had to listen to some Christmas songs on my way to work this morning.
While I sneak some Christmas music in earlier, the Season for me always starts with Halloween. I love taking my kids trick-or-treating and watching them have a good time. I love it too because the next morning, on Nov. 1, I switch the decorations, music, and other things over to Christmas! Anyone else start the season then?

Welcome to the countdown, Ryan! I used to wait until Thanksgiving was over to decorate for Christmas, but I have found in recent years that I start between Halloween and Thanksgiving. My new hubs likes to wait until after Thanksgiving, but I have been working on him these last few years. We'll see what happens this year! =)

Just popped in to say WAY TO GO ORIOLES!!!!!!

I know nobody (including myself) thought this was going to happen when the season started back in April.

Now they just gotta beat them dang Yankees!

As a life-long Yankees "hater" (despite my dad, hubs, and ALL OF MY IN-LAWS all being fans), I of course am rooting for the O's! Wish my Braves and BoSox had made it in, but I do enjoy going to O's games and am happy to finally see them back in the playoffs!

Good morning, Christmas friends. Hubby and I drove to Redding yesterday for doctors' appointments. On the way, I suggested our having a Thanksgiving dinner on Monday. He agreed!!! (Later last evening, I heard him telling a friend of ours that we were celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving.) At one of the doctor's offices, there was an OLD issue of Sunset magazine (November 2011). We decided to try the recipes from it for Monday because we have a set menu for the US Thanksgiving. Anyway, here's our menu (most recipes from the mag!): Brined Turkey (not from the mag, but we know this is good and can't stray from our regular recipe; we bought an eight pounder); Sage Gravy (our regular recipe); Wild Mushroom and Butternut Squash Bread Pudding; Fingerling Potatoes with Bacon Cream; Roasted Cauliflower and Shallots; Cranberry Sauce (store-bought); Homemade Rolls; Chocolate Chunk Pumpkin Cupcakes; and Pouilly-Fuisse White Burgundy (thanks to the recommendation by LaurieBear).

OH MY GOODNESS THIS SOUNDS DELICIOUS! Especially the chocolate chunk pumpkin cupcakes!!! WOW!

Hubby is grilling pork ribs tonight for dinner. I just finished making the barbecue sauce, one that used Southern Comfort Black Cherry Whiskey. Not too bad, even if I do say so myself!

Could I please get the recipe for the BBQ sauce? That sounds like something hubs and I would definitely enjoy!!

Good afternoon, MMC! The weekend seems to sadly be flying by already. Today I am making homemade Italian wedding soup for dinner. Any takers? I went out on Thursday with a bunch of my friends and it was a lot of fun. I even met a few new people through mutual friends so at least I will have some people to go out with while my friends go back to college. There are some "fall breaks" so my friends are back for the weekend. I think I am going to stay in tonight and relax with a couple of TV shows or movies. I like to relax just as much as I like to go out :] All of my neighbors are decorated for the fall and for Halloween. Pretty soon we'll be seeing the Christmas decorations! Have a great day, everyone!

And I almost forgot to say thanks for all of your kind well wishes and comments when I was really sick this week. I still have the cold and a sore throat but I am finally getting better. Hopefully it goes away for good within a couple of more days. Colds love to stick around with me!

Colds like to stick around me too, Jennifer! Glad you are feeling better though! I also love the balance of staying in/going out. I just wish I had more friends around here that liked going out! I think hubs and I have met some though, so I am excited to find new places to go with them! -)

AM sorry to hear that. $150. Omg. For 2 weeks and I think we are bad over here. How are you now. Any better. Sure hope so ,

Yeah, the insurance rates from his company are ridiculous. That's why I'm hoping to find a job soon. One great thing about Kohl's was that their insurance was pretty good and extremely affordable. Ah well. I am feeling mostly better but still have a nagging cough. REALLY need to get rid of it because it's frustrating!

my b-i-l's mother passed away last evening. they had went back home on friday morning. his brother called him yesterday & said to come back, their mothers breathing was very bad. he got here & saw her & about 10 minutes later she passed. i am so thankful he was able to see & speak to her before she left for her heavenly home. her name was Maggie Lou Stacks. she had 2 sons, 2 daughters, & made a career as a beautician. had numerous grands, some she helped raise. over 5 years ago she was diagnosed w/ Alzheimer's & had gotten really bad. she was 1 month shy of turning 90. Miss Maggie had a very full life. i don't think she would want anyone to be sad now.so i'm just gonna be happy for her & pray i live that long & happy.

i got up BEFORE the roosters this morning! hubby woke me in a panic. scared the bajeebers outta me, the dishwasher had flooded the kitchen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i got all over him for that. as long as it's not someONE it's ok. besides seeing him so upset, i had to stay calm, ya' know? he said, "you'll have to get the mop to dry it up". now let me tell y'all, my mop is a rag head mop about 12" long & my kitchen ain't small. do you have any idea how long i would've been there doing that w/ that little mop????? i'll tell ya', TOO LONG! i went & gathered towels & started soaking it up & squeezing them out & soaking more up. bless his heart he started helping me. it was up in just a little bit so here i am now, wide awake on my 2nd cup'o joe.

daughter is out of school today for Columbus day & assuming i didn't have to get up early this morning, i stayed up till midnight watching TV. i think i may be dragging in a bit now.

our choc.lab, Maggie(coincidentally same name) hurt her leg last week some how. Seth noticed her limping & we checked her over & found a single puncture wound on her front right leg. this is hubby's pup & he wasn't here. w/ seth's help i cleaned the wound, put salv on it & covered it w/ the top of 1 of hubby's socks. she is the sweetest thing & i can't stand to see any of them hurt. we didn't play ball w/ her because no matter how bad she's hurt she would still try to run & jump. her limp is almost gone now & the wound has healed over on the outside.
she's our gentle giant. she probably weighs about 100lbs. & in the a.m. when we feed them all she stands right over the food, her head up, looking around, & lets' Daisy, Diva, & Mickey eat. when she knows they're finished she'll look around 1 more time & then she will begin to eat. God love her, she is so sweet. our cat, Holly doesn't like any of us (lol) but Maggie. Holly will get on her stoop & if any of them come over she hisses & swats @ them w/ fangs showing, but not w/ Maggie. Maggie will put her face up to Holly & Holly will lean over & lick her & they rub faces. precious!

wow, i am really talking this morning huh? sorry. on saturday & sunday i have no one to talk to because hubby & Seth are watching football ALL DAY, daughter is usually gone, & Will is @ work.i have to catch up w/ y'all!

have a blessed day friends!!!!!:merry:

So sorry to hear of Miss Maggie's passing, and also your dishwasher overflowing!! I'm hoping your doggie's paw is better...once when Gunner starting limping for no real reason, hubs freaked out. We couldn't find any marks or anything, but it seems to have maybe just been a cramp, as it hasn't come back since.

Hey everyone! How is your Monday going? Mine is well - I slept for 2 hours or so, once coming home from work, then had to get up and get myself ready for family pictures this morning and got the kids ready as well. The pictures went well - I'm sure they'll be beautiful!

What is everyone up to otherwise? I am just relaxing with the kids and DH. I thought I would check in here for a little bit and see what is going on. I am off tomorrow and looking foward to it. I need the day off!

Hope all is well with everyone. I know I say it time and time again in my posts, but I do miss catching up with all of you. With DH being more busy with his work, that makes things more difficult for me to gets things done too, like getting on here. Miss you all!

Well, I am going to read the posts from today. God Bless and keep smiling. Prayers for you, your families, and furbabies!

Miss you too, sugar! Enjoy your day off!!

Dancing with the stars double elimination round tonight.

Who do you think will go, star? I'm hoping it's Bristol and Kirstie, not because I don't like them, but just because they are the worst and most uncomfortable to watch dance. But I know both have huge fanbases...so as long as it's not Apolo or Shawn, I'm good!

Hello everyone!

Two hours later and I have finally caught up on all the posts since Friday afternoon! =)

I had a very busy weekend! Friday night, hubs and I went out with his best friend (and best man at our wedding), his wife and their son (our "nephew") to Olive Garden. It was sooooo good and our nephew was such a cutie! We then went back to their house and finally watched The Avengers...hubs and I have wanted to see it since it came out and never did. I still think Robert Downey Jr is the hottest man in that movie, no matter what anyone else says! =p

Saturday we spent the day with 4 of our friends (who all were also in our bridal party...yes we had a gigantic wedding party, lol). We went shopping at Harbor Freight (two of our friends just bought a house and needed tools) and a plant store, where hubs and I bought some black tulip bulbs to plant. I'm really excited about those for some reason. We then went over to their new house, had pizza and beer and watched some college football. =) (And YAY for a Penn State win against a ranked team!!!)

Sunday I was gone all day at my friend Emily's bachelorette day. First was mani/pedi's, then to a wine tasting where I bought an excellent blush wine called Twisted Kiss, then last was dinner at the Melting Pot. I had never been before and I loved it! I wasn't too keen on cooking my own meat, but aside from that, I loved it! The chocolate fondue dessert was TO DIE FOR. But we all had a great time and I'm so excited for Emily's wedding in less than two weeks!

Yesterday was spent finally finishing my bridal shower thank you's, relaxing, and cleaning up a little around the house. Nice to have a lazy day at home after a hugely busy weekend!

Has anyone else's furbabies been acting weird lately? My cat Sangria has been WAY needy lately...neither one of us sits or lays down more than a second before she is all over us! Not that I mind it, and she normally is very cuddly to start with, but not like this. She is even being brave and venturing into the living room (we have the house gated off between the front and back parts because she and Gunner [the dog] do not get along!), although she does still run as soon as Gunner sees her. Also, Gunner has been waking us up multiple times during the night for no apparent reason. It has really been getting on hubs' and my nerves with the whining, and then we can't figure out what's wrong. Hubs will let him out but Gunner will just stand there, and of course at 3 in the morning, hubs isn't going to play with him...but it is really out of character for him to whine all through the night. Is it a full moon or something?

I hope you all are having a good week and enjoying the cooler temps! I myself am not at all a cold weather fan but I know I am in the vast minority here! Take care, my MMC family! =)
