Christmas Countdown - 2013

Woke up to a chilly morning here in northern California. It is a sunshiny day with blue skies and no breeze. I was able to eat a little last night, but not a lot. I think it is time for another vitamin infusion. That's how tired I feel. I go for an MRI tomorrow for a bone density scan. Bring on the Xanex!!! I hate those machines!

I'm praying it isn't as bad as you think it will be and all is well!

Back to the grind for me as well...Got a bad case of the PCB's AND a cold that has me feeling even downer and outer...But comfort is what I was seeking, and here is where I searched, and I found it. The torch continues to be carried, the feeling continues to live on and the friendships flourish all year long.

All the best for 2013 my frieinds! They say that you are about as happy as you make up your mind to be...I'v decided to let myself feel down today, with upswings int he coming days...

We have to all tighten our belts, be more productive, give back more to the company! Oh, the company did buy a new Keurig coffee machine, but you need to buy your own coffee to use in it; HUH???

HUH?? is right!

Makes me think of a place Mr. used to work. They had a big meeting one day where they handed out a bunch of pink slips ... then tried to put a good face on it by bringing in a plate of pastry and saying, "But we DO have muffins!"

I think this year is going to be the year where I enrich my life a little bit more with watching classic movies and reading classis novels ...

I have never read "A Christmas Carol", Moby Dick, etc... It's my plans in this year to do so as well.

You have a treat coming when you READ "A Christmas Carol." I might even recommend that you get hold of the annotated version that explains Dickens' historical, religious, and literary references, and the little jokes he put in that often aren't understood today (e.g., "particular, to a shade ... for a shade"; "his countenance fell almost as low as the ghost's had done").

You'll enjoy classic movies and other classic novels, too! If reading gets too ponderous, try downloading classic novels and stories in audiobook form from LibriVox.org---they're read by volunteers and are free.

"The Christmas Angel" by Abbie Farwell Brown
"The Romance of a Christmas Card" by Kate Douglas Wiggin

These are both vintage books, but I recommend them highly! And, what the heck, they're free!

Hello everyone. Hope you are enjoying today - we have some cold but sunny weather. I have been going over our Christmas Pageant from this year it was great the last showing is Saturday night for the Epiphany, it is a beautiful we end the pageant with the 3 wise man no matter what show we are doing.

That will be the last of my public outings for Christmas this season, it is tough letting go, but if I do not let go I cannot look forward to next year now can I?!?!?! LOL

Hello my name is Made and I'm addicted to buying Christmas ornaments!!!

When I took down my tree yesterday and put the ornaments away, I noticed that I have now filled up my second 20 some gallon tote of ornaments. In fact I had to put some of the ornaments in another box. So what did I do this morning? I went shopping with my sister and niece's and bought more of them. I think I have a problem. :lol:

Good Afternoon MMC!!!! It's a chilly day here in central Indy but it's at least warmer than yesterday by a little bit. Like I said in my last post, I went out shopping with my sister and niece's this morning. Then we went for lunch. Now I'm back home and need a nap. Hello everyone! sorry I have been MIA for so long. there's been lots going on & just could not stop by @ all.

Our house is very somber w/out all the Christmas decor around. Big bummer!

Good morning everyone.

I am up early to get some work done. I was up most of the night as my mom was really sick. She had stomach pains and a burning sensation in her stomach all day/night long to the point where it made her sick. Not sure if it is related to her sickness or not, but we're hoping a fluke. Time will tell, but she still has the pains now. Not the best way to start off 2013 so please keep her in your prayers.

It's going to be a long day! I am exhausted so I think I am going to have to take a nap soon. Plus I have lots of work to do and a lot to prepare for starting back at school soon.

I think this year is going to be the year where I enrich my life a little bit more with watching classic movies and reading classis novels. For example, (and I know you may find this hard to believe), but I watched Holiday Inn last night for the very first time. I really enjoyed it and I'm asking myself why haven't I done so before!

Now, I was watching WALL-E this past week (I'm a big kid) and there were some scenes where WALL-E was watching a musical and dancing to it. I would really to know what that movie/ musical was so that I can watch it.

I have never read "A Christmas Carol", Moby Dick, etc... It's my plans in this year to do so as well. Its a year for me to sort of reboot my way of entertaining my intrests and also education of the classics; and I'm open to any great suggestions~

Almost anything by Shakespeare, Dante's The Inferno, and Mark Twain's works are good reads. I personally love Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility. I am going to be reading the classic mysteries of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and the works of Jules Verne this year.

What is everyone up to tonight? Nothing really to do here. DH works and so do I, so my sister will be here to watch the kids.

Good afternoon, MMC!

It is snowing out ~ I'm enjoying the view of the flakes coming down and deer scampering around/eating in the backyard. That is one of the things I love about when I work at home ~ I have a great view!

Yesterday I had another migraine (gone today!) and I had to work in the store. It can be a dusty place at times, but I got a lot done as my displays didn't need much straightening. When I got home, I took a three hour nap ~ I so needed it! Today I am working on paperwork. I am getting all of last month's info inputted and then I am setting up a new log for this year. It means more work as there will be three different logs I use, but I think I'll be able to keep track of things a lot better.

Well, I need to get back to work. I still have to get my computer back online and the one I am borrowing today needs to go back.

hi there everyone....watching the Chipmunks movie right now...been at the doctor this morning....the sore throat is nothing serious...just a second infect on top of the old one...but still nothing that would make antibiotics necessary....still...I should use nose spray...not too often tho...drink lots of teas with honey, gargle, rest and he said it is ok for me to take pain killers against the sore throat...since it is really bad at nights....so i will be doing all of that and hope that I will be recovering soon
