Well guys, it's with very heavy heart I report in this morning that we had to say goodbye to our sweet Gracie yesterday! :( Everything was shutting down - she was a sick girl! No more suffering for my baby! What an awful, horrible day! :( As hard as it was, we knew we were doing the right thing! My poor sweet girl. She was dealt a raw deal! She's forever in our hearts!

So sorry to hear this, you are in my thoughts xxx

Good morning MMC!

Well after our lovely bank holiday Monday weather, things have turned a little cooler here, there is a autumn like feel in the air! The nights have also started drawing back in now!

I am enjoying my last couple of days off work before the madness starts again next week ( I manage school catering contracts )! After having 4 weeks off it will be nice to get back into a routine again!

Going to have my coffee and browse around the forums, have a great day everyone!

Good Morning Claire,
The weather here is that fine misty rain that the UK always seems to get - or as we call it in Wales 'Summer'.
I know what you mean about the nights drawing in again - I took the dog out at half 6 this morning and it was still dark here.
the colder months are almost here. Only 2 days until the BER months start!

Morning! Feels like ages since I saw you. Definteley an autumnal feel in the air but just when you settle into it suddenly there might be a heatwave in October or something lol British weather!
Hope you are well. Good luck going back out to work. My kids start back next week so it will be back to routine again!

Happy Pines Day! Today we expect a mixture of sun & clouds with a high of 77. Looks like a pretty nice late August day. Hope Harvey finally leaves Texas because it's crazy looking at those videos of what's going on there. It's just another mid-week but can't believe less than 48 hours till the Bers. It's gone so fast this summer. Good wishes to Holiday in a tough time and hope the newbie is keeping you busy. Have a great day everyone!

I'm so very sorry, Holiday. I can't imagine how sad you are right now, but you helped her end the suffering. I know it was a horrible decision to make, but it sounds like it was the most loving gift you could have given her.

Bless her heart, I'll keep praying for you and your family.

Now that I'm a blubbering mess after that post, we had a turn of events last night. Gracie sent us "Lucy"! We had our feelers out for Wheaten breeders, but nobody had puppies available until December. 1st of all I hate our house without 4 paws in it & I didn't want to wait until December. Also didn't want to be training in the cold & during the busy holiday season! Jim was on the internet & stumbled across a breeder close to where Emma lives. He called them & they had 1 female Wheaten left in the litter - 8 weeks old, ready to go! We jumped in the car & off we went. We came home with "Lucy". That's the name she was given by the breeder, not sure if we'll keep it or change it to Stella! Still debating! She was a good girl last night! Gracie can never be replaced but Lucy sure makes me smile!! What a roller coaster of a day!!! She had her 1st visitor this morning ~ my sister came over to see her.

Lucy (or Stella ;) ) is beautiful! I know she can't replace Gracie, but puppies are wonderful!

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

I've been up for a couple hours; I don't sleep well in hotels, especially without Nancy. We finished our last Tuesday meeting about 3pm, which gave me 2 hours to put together a very, VERY large quote for a new project. It was due at 5pm, and I clicked SEND at 4:57. Whew! Not easy to do on this small laptop keyboard LOL.

We have another meeting this morning at 10:30, then lunch with 14 engineers...then IT'S BACK TO BELLVILLE!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Good Morning, MMC Citizens!

Today, like every day, we move yet another step closer to Christmas and to Christmas Season 2017.

This morning's figures are ready, so let's inspect them:
Days to the Season: 75
Days to Christmas Day: 117

And are we ready to consider the proximity of our next Milestone, which just happens to be the ONE HUNDRED DAY CHRISTMAS DAY WINDOW?
I think we can take it, so let it be known that the said Window will be cast open in just 17 days, now UNDER 2 1/2 weeks away.
After that, BOTH of our counts will be numbered with double digits.
(Exciting times we are living in, Guys!)

Incredible. Yesterday we set a record low high for the date as clouds/rain kept the temperatures depressed. Despite the wetness, it sure was nice to wear a light jacket and be comfortable for a change.
Today should be warmer and we have commenced it at 64 degrees.
(That tropical system brushed harmlessly by the coast during the day yesterday, with no reports of damage.)

OK, Folks. Sad though it may be, tonight brings down the curtain on the Shispering Pines' summer open houses. Starting next week (when we will be in the 'bers!) Carl will be gearing up for fall!

Hope to see you at our inn of choice this evening and in the meantime, you have a Wonderful Wednesday, OK?

** TRAVEL ALERT **

OK. Labor Day looms.
And the Crowns are off to the cottage for the extended weekend and to clean up after another rental season.
I will post the daily count this Friday morning, but then a volunteer (or volunteers) will be needed for Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings (Sept 2-4).

Thanks in advance, Guys!
