I'm all for more special days/celebrations. Personally I always thought Halloween got lower billing when compared to Thanksgiving and Christmas because we have a Tom Turkey Day and a Leon Day every month, but JOL Day only five times a year. Spooky Spring and Halfoween sort of pad that number a bit, but the overall count is still smaller.DAYS TO JOL DAY: 52
DAYS TO SPOOKY SPRING: 53
DAYS TO HALFOWEEN: 82
DAYS TO THE BERS: 206
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN SEASON: 223
DAYS TO OCTOBER: 236
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 266
Good Morning Halloween friends! Always having a Monday come and go is a good feeling. And we still have most of the "full" 1st week of February awaiting us. You can see that our next milestone will be in THREE(!!) days when we welcome in 50 DAYS TO SPOOKY SPRING. That's going to be a big one in here, and I hope everyone that is part of this thread/community can be here to celebrate with us.
We had a good conversation yesterday in here about some "extra" things that we could do in addition to our normal Spooky milestone days, Spooky Spring, JOL Days, and "Fall Pre-season" etc. Prior to @The_Escalation bringing up that February 28th is a great day to watch "28 Days Later", I have thought / realized that for a while now, that out of the entire year February doesn't really have any special "Spooky Day" outside of milestones and what not. And neither does June. By the time JOL Days are over, we are back in "Fall Pre-season" and headed straight for "The Bers". It seems like "Zombie-ary" on February 28th seems like a "no brainer", so my Tuesday Halloween thought today is this:
Do we "need" to have a Jack O Lantern Day in June?
June is an exciting month already with Halfway to Christmas which is a big celebration here in this household. Could June 30th potentially have an "honorary" Jack O Lantern Day, or something to that effect?
I personally never get tired of having special days for ANY holiday, so I am content / at peace with whatever the decision is, whether we vote "yes" for another proper JOL Day, or "no", because we have enough Halloween / Fall tribute stuff already. This is how democracy works in this thread!
Have a great day, friends!
Considering we have a two month break from any spooky stuff once Halloween is over, why not add one more celebration to the calendar? Just my two cents.
