Thanksgiving 2021 Thread

I have to answer A. It's the truth. Even despite COVID, we had the best thanksgiving i can ever remember in recent years. I spent so much time with my wife's family, that I have really neglected over the years, I have always went up there for family gatherings and tried to just "put in my time" and get done and go home, but one thing I've learned from this year, is no more of that! It's why I fully expect that Christmas will be just as great!!

The_Escalation, you are not the odd man out. I too would give it a C. I purchased an LG stove in September and it has never worked right and the company can't seem to get a repair person out so the food wasn't the best ever.

So next Thursday is my week and the upcoming year will have to have a slight change of format. I have joined alternate media formats due to Youtube being so sketchy all the time with something being available and I plan ahead to use it, 1 day later it gets yanked. So my posts will come from a few different sites. More cooking vids this year and alternate turkey cooking to enjoy during the summer. Quick video to enjoy in the below post.

DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 332
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 271

Happy December TGIF! It looks like we have our 3 counts this fine Friday a.m. all set up above us. Let's bring them down below here and examine them closer: 356 days till Thanksgiving, 332 days till November, and 271 days till The Bers. Look at those countdowns. Looking all fine to me. Yeah they're FAR away. But that's a good thing. The ride and journey is part of the fun. If we got to those goals fast it would not be as exciting. What is exciting right now is that our next milestone is in 17 days and that will be the arrival of winter which will be the 1st of 3 seasons we will go through on our road back to the beginning of Autumn. Ahh Autumn which we are technically still in just that it feels different when it is in the Christmas Season. Have a great December TGIF!

I second you on the not feeling like Autumn part. For me I consider Autumn to be the end of August - end of November, as it just seems like we have that perfect "BERS" weather / temperature. December takes on a different feel, it is more of a winter vibe. We have freezing temperatures now at night, and we've even had snow showers so far. Heck, it's calling for snow here on Monday, which might be our first "real" snow of the season!

Happy Friday all you Thanksgiving buffs! We had rain most of the day which melted all our snow and left the great outdoors smelling rotten! 3 weeks till Christmas and the LOOooonggg haul begins.

B. for me. It was a great Thanksgiving and the simpler holiday made me appreciate the many things I have to be thankful for.

That's kind of why we love The Bers so much and countdown to September 1...because really Autumn to me is September 1 - Thanksgiving Day...and then it turns that night into The Christmas Season.

DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 331
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 270

Happy December Weekend! It's a rainy morning here. I do not like rainy days on the weekend but hopefully it will clear out soon enough. What I do like? The 3 countdowns we count down to every single day. They are the following: 355 days till Thanksgiving, 331 days till November and 270 days till The Bers. Those 3 countdowns I do love very much. Our next milestone is going to be the arrival of Winter (officially) which is on December 21. That's in 16 days from now. So we have 2 weeks and 2 days to go till that. Other than that? We made it through 1 full work week after Thanksgiving. But the long journey is really just beginning. And trust me that's a good thing folks. We have so much time to enjoy the excitement and build that only we in this thread can keep going all year long. Have a great December Weekend!

Yes that long haul is coming up, but you know, from the help of this place, it hasn't gotten to me so bad as in years past. I can't say that I won't get sad moments between January - April, but most of the time If I make it to Spring without suffering any from Post Holiday Blues, I will be okay. The wishing for the Holidays feels emotionally very different when I'm in April & May, vs when I am trying to slog through a long January, or March, etc! We're all in it together!

April and May is when the excitement starts to build again. Jan - Mar can be such a struggle.

For me, keeping that feeling of thanks by having gratitude helps me feel Thanksgivingy (just made up that word) all year long. Today I choose to be thankful for this thread.

I am one of the lucky ones that Christmas stays up till the 1st week of Feb. When I decide to pull it down I take a whole week to do it. I get a small respite and in a few days Easter goes up. When Easter comes down the kids start in with their fall/Halloween stuff. Usually I can get through with all their Scarecrows on Sticks. By June they will drive you insane if the fall leaf garland isnt hanging and pumpkin stuff going up.

Happy Christmas Shopping! Oh yeah I have a little more of that to do but luckily I don't have to worry about picking out a huge turkey any time soon for Thanksgiving. Why is that? Because the 3 counts say the following: 354 days till Thanksgiving, 330 days till November and 269 days till The Bers. 2 weeks from tomorrow folks we will welcome in the 1st of 3 seasons on our way back to Autumn and that would be the season of winter. Not my personal favorite but we'll be so close to Christmas then it will be very exciting and we will all enjoy that milestone here in this thread. But for now let's just focus on today. We have the sun out there and it should be a decent December day. Anyone have any turkey left? By the way, tomorrow is Monday and you know in THIS thread we love Mondays...and you know why. The weekly count will be here to the best week of the year and this one folks is going to be a BIG ONE and really shows you we start back on the long road to the best week of the year now.
