In a mere six days we'll be down to a single count. I absolutely love it when we get to this time of year. Everything is so festive. Except for one thing. Elections. Can't we move them out of the Bers permanently? I'm already sick of ads running between holiday movies. I want to see more toy commercials. I guess it's just the kid in me.
Or it could be the sane person in you. No matter our political affiliation or lack there of, I don't know of anyone who doesn't get sick of the political commercials.

I'm excited about reaching November next week, but I'm still excited about being in October right now. There's so much to enjoy in the Bers that we've got to make the most of each day! I'll confess to having turkey thoughts before Halloween even gets here though.

Speaking of turkey, I picked up my Popeye's Cajun Tom last week. It's pre-cooked, so all we've got to do on the big day is thaw and heat. That'll save a lot of time with the turkey prep! I just hope that it's good.

Also, it's looking like we'll be celebrating two Thanksgivings: One on the actual day with my wife's family, and one on Black Friday with my family. My brother had to work on Thanksgiving Day this year, so they aren't going to get to come down until Friday. Kinda bummed, actually, because now we'll have a big gap in our Thanksgiving Day after the parade until around 5 p.m. We'll have cooking to do, of course, and I guess we can watch the dog show.
And you get to stretch out the holiday by another day. Plus the blessing of your brother having a job that he gets to work at. Gotta look at the blessing, right?

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 29
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 5

Happy Haunted Halloween! Today we look at our counts and see a few things. First we see our Thanksgiving countdown has dropped to 29 days. That is barely above 4 weeks and less than 1 month now folks. And our days left until November sits at 5 which means you can count them on one hand. And our next milestone? It’s tomorrow. Yes, it will be the final “Tom Turkey Day.” Umm is it just me or are we getting a little too close for comfort? I think it has gotten to the point where nothing is that far away anymore. Ahh well that’s what October does to us. Let me see if I can get our friend CW to post us a special video tomorrow. We try to alternate every other Thursday. I know he’s a busy man with lots of responsibilities. Aren’t we all? And this time of year things seem to get busier for a lot of people. That’s why I love the quiet of September sometimes. It’s so peaceful seemingly. And summer too. I’m not saying that I haven’t loved October. To be blunt, it’s been my favorite month this year. I’ve done so many fun things from apple picking to the new Halloween movie to a haunted hayride to a Halloween lights show to a haunted escape room. It’s been a heck of a month. Now all of you Thanksgiving fans tie in Halloween month to Thanksgiving which will approach as we reach November. Have a great Haunted Halloween!

I feel it too, Edge. Everything right now is kind of "too close for comfort". We all say that now, but everybody will be raring to have Thanksgiving once November gets here, same thing with Christmas. I do wish September / October could have lasted a little longer. I know the calendar says otherwise, but for me, the Bers really sort of "end" in November. December just has a complete different wintery / Christmas vibe.

I think the closer Thanksgiving gets the more comfortable it gets. I am so looking forward to that big day and week.

I still count December as part of the Bers, but you're right that the vibe is totally different. Christmas is unique in that way. But I really just split the year into two parts: The Bers and the Offseason. If I'm not in one, I'm in the other. Except for August, which I guess is the "Preseason."

I'm going to have to think about this a bit more now. The point is: I agree with you and @Edge612 in that we're "too close for comfort."

It's been my favorite month too and these last few days are going to be great because my Brother in Law and nephew are going to be here harvesting the fields by my house this weekend! I hope to take a ride in the combine and deliver some treats to the field! Happy Harvest and Happy Halloween, could I be any luckier?

Sept/Oct doesn't seem to last nearly as long as Jan/Feb does huh!?

Halloween month is amazing!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 28
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 4

Happy Thrilling Thursday! Well when you look at our counts this morning you might feel the thrill. Do you feel it yet? Not yet? Ok we’ll take a look at the counts first then. We have 28 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 4 days to go until November. Our milestone is TODAY folks as we have reached our final Tom Turkey Day. Amazing isn’t it? We started this concept and now here we are ending the ride of these. Our next milestone is on Monday folks and I really don’t think I have to tell you what that is. It’s the day after Halloween. It’s when we turn the calendar. It’s the day that starts the MONTH of Thanksgiving. I think you all know what that day is. It is indeed the arrival of November. It will be our 2nd of 3 counts that will be ending on that day. Fortunately, we still have several days ahead of us to enjoy this countdown. And then several weeks of the countdown till Thanksgiving to go. Plenty of time still. I know that I say that often but now you need to say it, think it, and feel it. Get the most out of it that you can. These days are precious this time of the year here in late October. And if you love Halloween and Thanksgiving? Then you are really giddy right about now. It’s a great spot to be in. Let’s see if CW can post a video for us today. Let’s cheer him on and hope for it. Have a great Thrilling Thursday!

For the final Tom Turkey Day of 2021, I'm going a little untraditional for dinner tonight: A turkey panini with potato soup. We've made a similar meal before except it's usually a chicken panini and tomato soup, so this will be a nice change up.

And yes, @Edge612, I do feel the thrill! My absolute favorite time of the year is almost here!
