Long day today, promises to be longer tomorrow. I am contemplating that it is time to focus on finding a new job, I am so done with them. I won't bore you with my reasons, and I am thankful for having this job, but there is only so much stuff that you can be put through everyday just to be reminded you are just an insignificant number in the company's eyes. 2 more days until my next day off. Sorry for the little rant.

I need some Christmas!

The 2012 Holiday Baking with Paula Dean is out??? :???: I buy that every year!!! It use to be better though - she use to tell stories & visit places in the magazine. Last years was more just recipes - which is good, but I liked her stories!

Apologies for dragging in another Gloria Jean story, but it fits today. While Elvis was making "Blue Hawaii" at Paramount in 1961, Gloria was working on "The Ladies' Man" at the same studio with Jerry Lewis. (Don't blink, or you'll miss her---but that's a whole 'nother story.) She and Elvis met, and he told her he had always admired her voice and would love to make a movie with her so they could sing together. She was very excited and told her agent he should follow up with Elvis, but he (the agent) never did. Idiot.

I always enjoy, Gloria Jean, stories!!! Thanks for sharing.

Good Friday morning!! :grin: I am envisioning a weekend at the lake with baseball on the big screen, a bonfire every night, good breakfasts in the morning, cookout at night...and another surprise birthday party for my hubby! Poor guy! :lol: Our neighbors at the lake never let a "round #" birthday go by without a party, so he probably won't be too surprised! But they can try! Temps are going down to 50 tonight! Doesn't seem right to be watching baseball on tv in August with a bonfire to keep warm, but we'll do what we have to do!

My trip to the dealership yesterday:
So, even though I printed out & handed them the entire advertisement for the vehicle from their web page which included the price in big bold letters with no, zero, nada asteriks or fine print they can not sell it to me at that price since I am not military or civil service (and they admitted they should have printed that out). Plus the vehicle has 2,000 miles on it which is a bit much for a 2012 sitting on the lot & the salesman could not give me a history about it being a program car, rental car or being used personally by management. But what they did do was go back up to the original MSRP and then spend 5 minutes talking to me about 3 separate Chevy and dealer rebates that bring the price back down to somewhere in between the two prices. Then spend another 5 minutes talking about their #1 ranked service, the free tank of gas, the warranty, etc, etc.

Yeah, I left. They have my number and my email and that truck has been on their lot since April or earlier. I'll let them come to me and we can start over. If they don't, Eh, I'll wait for something better.

There's always a catch. Stay strong!

I am sorry that you are not feeling well, Solice! I will pray for you :] I am also sorry that your little one has a fever - I will be praying! It seems like once somebody in the family catches something, everyone else will get it passed on to them. That was the way it was with my brother and I when we were kids especially. I hope that your meeting goes by quickly and that you are feeling better there. Then you can come home and get the rest that you need! Feel better, have a good day!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a nice day here in central Indy with a high of 78 degree's. I woke up at 5am today and couldn't go back to sleep. So I've already gotten all of my cleaning done and I've been to the grocery store. Now I think I'm going to kick back and watch a few christmas movies to help me find my christmas spirit that I seemed to have lost out in the woods. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was watching The Lake House and Fred Claus yesterday.
And both the movies is filmed in Chicago, and now I want to go back there.
Forget New York, San Francisco, or Boston.
I want to go back to Chicago!! Now!
What did this City do with me?

So I was cheking hotels late last night, and found a great deal at Waldorf Astoria! (wow)
But we can't plan anything just yet.
My MIL and FIL are 'our babysitters' for the little one.
And they have enough on their plates this year.
So we just have to wait and see...
OR we have to take the little one with us...
But a 4 year old with jetlag? Hm.. Don't think so...
I will have trouble enough with a 40 year old man with jet lag :lol:

So, it's going to be a lazy Friday evening here.
Im going to enjoy some Dallas Chicken wings in front of the tv.
And I have many Christmas movies to see.

The Man of this house is coming home around midnight.
Haven't seen him since Tuesday. And he have four days off.
It's going to be good! =]

Good morning, MMC! How are you all today? I am well, just getting some things done around the house today and trying to relax. DH is working and the kids are at daycare, so I am trying to get a lot done.

Anything new? Nothing here. I think I am going to through an Italian vegetable soup in the crockpot for dinner. With the temps cooling down, at least a little, it is putting me in the mood to make soup.

When we were at the store last night, I picked up stuff to make things for all kind of soups, breads, and chicken pot pie. I am getting in the mood for rustic fall food! I can't wait!

Good evening, Christmas family

Just sitting here unwinding. It is such a nice, woundrous feeling to actually just sit here and watch TV at 8 p.m. instead of having to type until 9. I am hoping everything continues to go well. I have heard rumors about the company I just started with not having enough work. So I am a little scared. For now, I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that I will have enough.


My husband suprised me with my birthday present today !! It is WAY early (my birthday is still nearly a month away !) but he got me a Kindle Fire !! I was gob smacked !!! Now I need to learn all about it and what it will and will not do. But so far it is AWESOME !! First thing I did was connect to MMC......!! Also, checked out Christmas apps.

TGIF everyone! This morning as I was driving to work the outside temp gauge said 80F at 630am!!! it was sultry humid sauna type weather...and I thought to myself " it's the peak of the summer season" and if I can just handle a few more days cooler weather will be on the way! Reading Crowns,and everyone elses posts help to with the countdown!! I hope everyone had a good week! I'm finally back on MMC! For more than a week I couldn't access MMC from my work computer, and I rarely have time at home. I was really feeling the withdrawl symptoms. Luckily, Made reminded me that sometimes our IPs get blocked, so I sent an email to Jeff with my IP address, and voilà! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I'm still feeling good, walking mornings and evenings, and enjoying my family.

I was trying to change the blades on my mower yesterday afternoon, to no avail. Even an impact wrench running at 100 psi couldn't turn the nuts to loosen the blades. I sprayed them with lubricant, and I even heated them with a torch. No luck. Guess I gotta take it to the shop.

It's a shame; the mayor has the WORST yard in town!

I am also very happy to see that you are feeling better. Spending time with family is the best. I couldn't even imagine trying to mess with a mower - hopefully you get that resolved! The nice people in your town should come and cut the mayor's grass - it's the least they can do! ;]

speaking of mower blades, I sharpened mine the other day and cut my grass and it looked terrible. Yesterday I checked the blade and yes, I had put the blade back on upside down. Oh boy. First time I've done that. I hope everyone has a great day!

Sorry, but I did laugh out loud at the thought of the upside down blade. Oh well, stuff like that happens! At least you know the grass will grow right back and then you can cut it normally. Hope your day is a good one!

It's almost time for school, but I wanted to check in. I am getting stronger every day, but it really is taking a lot of time. I have always been able to bounce back quickly, but this time it's almost kicking my behind! I agree with what has been said about Made. In addition to his positive attitude and IT helpfulness, he cracks me up every day!!! Bradmac, glad to see you back. I was getting worried. I loved what CAH said about your yard! Now, if we can just get her to the doctor!!!

Good Morning MMC!!!! It's going to be a warm day here with a high of 92 here today. It also looks like we will get two rounds of storms today. The first around 3 and the second around 8. I was really hoping that I would be headed to the lottery office today to turn in my winning powerball ticket for $350 million but I only managed to get 1 number. The winning ticket was sold up around Meceka though, so maybe she has something to tell us.

We do talk a lot, huh? I know that I had to go through about seven pages just now to get all caught up - and I am sure there will be more replies by the time I hit post! Woah - 40's is a little bit too cold for me! The weather never seems to adjust to how I want it to (lol). I wish it would slowly go from 80's to 70's to 60's...but instead it went from mid 90's to low 70's and it is making me freeze! A bonfire sounds awesome :]

I attemped to post yesterday, but I don't think I was able to. All these days are blending together! The weather here is real nice. The sun is out and it's not too hot. And, we're now more than halfway through August. Temperatures are certainly calming down a little here in Ottawa.

A little bad news on my part. My position ends tomorrow. Again, I will be jobless. My job search didn't stop when I received this position - as I knew it would only last for five or six weeks - however, I haven't heard a whole lot on that front. I've said it many times - it would be nice to finially have a consistent career position, but apparently I have very little going for me right now. The teaching market is saturated, I'm not bilingual - which eliminates about 90 percent of the government positions - and my teaching degree makes employers very uneasy to hire me... since they think I will leave at the first chance of a teaching opportunity. I have bills to pay!

Thanks to Crown for unveiling the next milestone! Only nine days away!! Everything is coming up so quickly! Before we know it, we will only be four months away from Christmas! And, in less than a month, we'll start seeing signs of Christmas pop-up in various places. These times, they are exciting!

Lunch is nearly over, so I should return to "work." Have a great Thursday, everyone! The work week doesn't have much left in it. Friday is fast approaching

I am very sorry about your job and I will be praying for you. That is such an unfortunate situation to be in. I wish you plenty of luck in finding a position that is reliable and lasting. That is my concern for the degree I am going for. It's business administration and I am afraid that it is going to be too broad for me in the long-run. Hope the rest of your day improved!

I'm getting ready to head out and test drive a new truck right now. One that I have been watching on the internet for a couple of months. It has a couple of options I want that are not standard and the price is decent. I know what I am willing to pay and it is way below their price so I'm 99% sure they will not accept my first offer but I'm just laying the groundwork right now. I know the salesman is motivated so hopefully after several back and forth phone calls and emails with lots of haggling, I'll get it. If not, no big loss. Wish me luck.

They were tearing me up! It's making headline news here about the West Nile Virus. I spray mosquito repellent on me now so haven't had any problems in over a week.

I am so sorry to hear that about your job. I will be praying for you that you find something that is more fulfilling. My brother feels the same way in reference to his job, so I can say that I understand what you mean. There is nothing worse than feeling like just a number or a player in an organization. I try to get ready for very hot and humid weather! We will likely have temperature up to 99 to 100f (35-38c)! I would really like those temperature if the air would be dry. Unfortunately it won't happen.

Yesterday I recieved the first parcel with the english books, I ordered from christianbook.com. I am sooo happy. I got a little crazy while buying books. I bought waaaaay to many of them. Can't help it, I am a book addict. Always have been, always will!

Welcome back! Yikes, those temperatures do not sound very pleasant at all. The humidity is no fun either. There is nothing wrong with being a book addict! I bought a ton of books at the beginning of the summer and I still have a good handful to read.

That sounds like quite the weekend, and a fun one! I haven't had the opportunity to attend many bonfires this summer because it has been way too hot. We'd all suffocate. Temperatures in the 50s are chilly, it's going to be around the same here tonight. I hope you enjoy your day and your weekend!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a nice day here in central Indy with a high of 78 degree's. I woke up at 5am today and couldn't go back to sleep. So I've already gotten all of my cleaning done and I've been to the grocery store. Now I think I'm going to kick back and watch a few christmas movies to help me find my christmas spirit that I seemed to have lost out in the woods. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, MMC! How are you all today? I am well, just getting some things done around the house today and trying to relax. DH is working and the kids are at daycare, so I am trying to get a lot done.

Anything new? Nothing here. I think I am going to through an Italian vegetable soup in the crockpot for dinner. With the temps cooling down, at least a little, it is putting me in the mood to make soup.

When we were at the store last night, I picked up stuff to make things for all kind of soups, breads, and chicken pot pie. I am getting in the mood for rustic fall food! I can't wait!

Well, off to read the boards! I have yesterday to get caught up on! Talk to you guys later!

Since we live only a few hours away (I think), please send me some of that Italian vegetable soup LOL. I promise when I make my grandma's homemade Italian wedding soup that I will send you some! I also love cooking in the fall. The summer is always way too hot to cook anything good - except for grilling. My mom and I were just saying that we can't wait to make our favorite hearty dishes - stuffed peppers, spaghetti and meatballs, wedding soup, etc. It's making me hungry! Hope you have a great day!!

So, as I mentioned, sorry for the long post! I wanted to make sure that I got to as much as I could! Now that I am all caught up, I feel much better. I hate being behind!

It's a little crummy outside right now. The temperature is only 66°F and it is pouring down rain. It's a little bit too cold for my liking. I just hate when the temperatures go from one extreme to the other. It was just in the 90s a few days ago and then we really dropped down. My sinuses aren't too happy with the change, either. I have been nothing but stuffed up for days now!

I am very happy that the fall is coming. Usually I love the summer - the temperatures and being off from school. This time around, I'm tired of all of the hot weather. It has been so hot and humid since March, practically. I am so ready for the temperatures to cool off a little bit, to light all of the fall candles that I bought, and to relax with the air conditioning off. Plus, of course that means Christmas is right around the corner. It is exciting to wait and see when the first decorations are put out in the stores. Another thing that I love is all of the cooking and the good food! I love making hearty dishes in the fall with my mom. It's always too hot to really turn the oven on in the summer, so now I can eat all of my favorites. I feel like my summer consisted of cook-outs, pizza, fast food, and going out to dinner.

I don't have much of anything planned for the rest of the day, so I think I am going to make myself a sandwich or something to eat for lunch, then get the mess sorted out with my classes. My college makes us wait until a week before the semester begins to schedule any online classes. This means over a thousand people trying to get through the phone line at once - ugh! I am getting prepared so I can hopefully get what I want this week. Then I can relax for my Friday and pop in a movie or two tonight.

Good Morning, MMC!

*Happy Friday...TGIF!*

Yesterday was Adrian's & my 4th wedding anniversary =]
Although we celebrated a bit last night, we are going to have dinner again this weekend to toast the occasion! Thank you to those of you that wished us well on FB!
My husband truly knows me very well. He bought me an It's A Wonderful Life matted photo, and had it signed by Karolyn Grimes. She addressed it to me, and quoted her line of "Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings". Then he framed it. I thought that was such a sweet gesture, since it's one of my favorite movies. God love him.

How are you guys today? Any weekend plans?

Besides going out for dinner tomorrow evening, we'll probably grill out & watch some movies. It's still very hot here. I can't wait for Fall! Have I told you that?! It'll be so nice to open the house up again. Harlowe loves it, too. That way she can listen to all of the neighborhood dogs, watch people walking by, etc. Basically be involved in all the action!
